Problem using the card to withdraw money from an ATM
Complaint: A great nephew of my wife was murdered XXXX . When we finally got the wallet after the trial, we found a XXXX XXXX prepaid tax refund card and we were able to determined that there was a little over {$1000.00} in this account. We have been try to cash this card since XXXX . Note the great nephew only has his mother ( m y wife 's niece ) and my wife as relatives. The mother is in a XXXX XXXX and my wife has a power of attorney for her. Since XXXX , we have contacted XXXX XXXX express ten times and have faxed then different information five times. Each time we respond, they would come back and with more information that they needed and we would comply. Finally, we received a letter from t he American Express Resolution Team requ esting forms filed through the court system. In checking with an attorney, we found that it would cost us far more way more then {$1000.00} to do this. American Express has hindered us at every turn. I guess American Express will get to keep the money rather then the mother who needs this money to fix her teeth.

I have never had any kind of late payment, slow payment, or missed payment on any account I have. <P/> Why are companies not being held accountable. They should be fined if they falsely report information and damage consumers credit. I now can not get my credit lines put back to where they are so it puts my utilization through the roof. <P/> Please help me. I do n't have money to go and hire a credit lawyer or anything like that. <P/> I have statements from XXXX showing that my account is in good standing and that it is paid off but they will not update my report. <P/> How can the damage that was done be fixed. All I get from the bureaus is that I need to rebuild my credit and let it take time, but i did n't do anything wrong. What is the remedy for this?

Complaint: In XXXX XXXX I had an American Express, XXXX XXXX credit card. In XX/XX/XXXX I canceled the card for I was not traveling as much anymore. In XX/XX/XXXX I received an offer for a new XXXX XXXX American Express credit card. The offer stated I would get XXXX bonus XXXX XXXX points after spending {$750.00} in the first three months. I applied on line, and received the card inXX/XX/XXXX ( American Express letter datedXX/XX/XXXX ). Neither the initial offer nor the letter accompanying the card mentioned any restrictions related to the XXXX bonus points. Out of abundance of caution, before using the card for the first time, I called American Express and I was told by the agent that I was qualified for the XXXX bonus points. However, after spending the requested amount I did not receive the bonus. I called American Express, and I was told that it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get it. The bonus was never posted to my XXXX account, so onXX/XX/XXXXI called again. This time I was told that I did not qualify for the bonus because I previously had a similar card. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted American Express for the last time. I tried to use e-mail, to have a written proof of the discussion, but this form of communication is not supported by the American Express web-site. So I had to use online chat. I explained the situation, but the agent wrote back that I was not qualified for the bonus. She provided a pointer to American Express terms and conditions. The documents referred to by the agent are enclosed. Neither one mentions the restriction invoked by the last two agents I communicated with.
In my opinion American Express has the OBLIGATION to give me the XXXX XXXX XXXX bonus points for the following reasons : -The offer sent to me did not mention any restrictions related to previously having a similar card.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: On or about XXXX 2017- I wa s purchasing XXXX airticket at XXXX XXXX While I was doing that - there is screen while booking the ticket that is very confusing and deceptive ( violating UDAAP ). That verbiage suggested that If I will apply for this delta skymiles card from american express today - I will be getting {$100.00} statement credit. Later when I checked my statements and also reached out to amex Customer service - it came out to be totally different situation. I come to know that one has to use this new delta skymiles card from amex to make delta eligible purchases to get {$100.00} statement credit - it 's very very misleading and confusing. How come somebody can use the card when they do n't have it in front of them??? Moreover XXXX XXXX venture card - reveals the physical card details after applying for that via the capital XXXX mobile wallet app. I had XXXX Credit Card from XXXX XXXX - that gives you the details of the credit card immediately after approval. Amex or XXXX - did nothing like that. If they ca n't have the mobile wallet kind of app - at least they can use the usersession to record that transaction as if it is made using the newly approved card. Or they can provide a https page with all the details and have extended securing mechanism ( like secret question or multi factor authentication to validate the customer ). It 's clear violation of UDAAP. Why one will apply for the credit card ( and XXXX XXXX the credit score ) when they cant ' avail the benefits at that moment or get the reward? This is deceptive, misleading and false advertising by amex. Why Amex think that somebody will pay {$95.00} annual fees for a card which has so much misleading, deceptive and false wordings and that 's how it seems Amex is making money. It seems Amex somehow wants to open the credit card accout via false advertizing and with annual fees. This way they can capture bigger market share with providing any value to the user. Amex is tricking people to open the credit card which has annual fees also to make money out of them. This should be stopped. No other credit card issuers are involved in this kind of UDAAP violation.

Complaint: I need help in getting the written dispute policy and procedure guidelines for the American Express Business Card. I continue to struggle getting a consistent and complete action when I inquire or dispute a merchant charge. There are times when I inquire OR dispute a charge and nothing is do ne. I continu e to have to make follow up calls to Customer Service after I see NO action is being done on their behalf. I feel they are giving me answers to simply get me off the phone as they are NOT following through on their words. This type of business practice has continued for years. I have asked American Express Customer Service many times for a copy of their written dispute policy and procedure. They will NOT provide me with this information. Is there also a 3rd part y representative that can assist me in making sure I am treated fairly and make sure their policies are followed.

Complaint: Complaint about American Express : 1. Have formerly been a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with {$20000.00} credit limit for 15 years. 2. Applied for a XXXX XXXX XXXX gold card with an offer of XXXX fee miles. 3. Airport agent applied for card using my first and middle name rather than my first and last name. 4. Card arrived with wrong name. 5. I immediately called " Customer Care '' at Amex. Took 35 minutes trying to do name change over related to the new card over the phone and was not successful. Amex sent me an email link to submit drivers license on line. After successful submission on-line, I never received confirmation. 6. After a week elapsed I recalled customer service number on the back of the card. No record of submission of name change was found by another on-line representative. I continue to receive mail from Amex for the unusable credit card. In another 35 minute call AmerEx now claims the on-line name change does process does not actually work and that they will send name change by mail. No electronic confirmation of this mailing was received as promised. 7. Amex would not allow me to speak to a supervisor. There is no on-line information about how to file a complaint. I feel completely adrift, but have stayed with the name change process only to see how abysmal Amex has become as a company. Time for new corporate management.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2017, I spoke with a Delta representative in regards to changing my flight day and time to another day. I was on the phone for an 1 1/2 hours talking with XXXX who was so politely helping me get the situation resolved. He asked during our conversation had I signed up for Sky miles. He explained the terms of how sky miles worked and said it was n't any cost to me, but if I wanted to do an application to qualify for an american express card I could do so. I proceeded to tell him, I had already filled out an application online when I was looking for flights for my up coming XX/XX/XXXX trip. On XXXX XXXX, 2017, I filled out an application and was declined the credit card. I told XXXX, I had already applied for the credit card and was denied. He ask me how long ago and I specifically told him approximately 2 months ago. He proceeded to say, we can check on that to see what we have on file. He comes back on the line and tells me they have no record of me applying for the card, and told me that perhaps I did n't get an approval letter yet. I told him that I was denied, which clearly means I received a letter. I did go ahead an redo the application based on the information he gave me. He connected me over to another department and a young lady proceeded to give me alot of info about the card and what it offers. I told her the same thing, that I had already did an application before and was n't approved. She said, ok and proceeded. After she put the info through the decision came back denied. After, I hung up with the representative, I went to my email to check the status of what the credit decision said. Well, lo and behold, I get on there and see I was declined onXX/XX/XXXX17 and XX/XX/XXXX17. My point here is that Delta should have know that a quiry was placed on there on XX/XX/XXXX17. I did n't want another quiry on my credit report. I believe they knew the first application I did was on there and therefore I feel that my rights were violated according to the fair credit reporting act.

Complaint: I received a promotional solicitation on the American Express appli cation offering me {$100.00} credit voucher if I made a {$600.00} or more reservation using t he American Express trav el application. I selected the offer & proceeded to make a a {$660.00} hotel reservation on XX/XX/XXXX t hrough AMEX travel through my American Express app. This is on my American Express bill for XX/XX/XXXX . Having been more than 30 days I called to check on the status and was told that no such offer existed. After challe nging this I was told the offer existed but I did not enroll. After challenging this further I was transferred to multiple individuals including XXXX , XXXX XXXX and XXXX . Several claim to be supervisors although none ended up being. All of the individuals claim to be able to do nothing. Finally after two hours and repeated phone calls the last representative I spoke to a tend a reference ticket XXXX . So far they have refused to acknowledge this bait and switch or the fraudulent activity on their part. Please help!
