Complaint: I opened AMEX XXXX XXXX card on XX/XX/XXXX. The welcome bonus offer was 50K XXXX skymiles, 10K MQM and {$100.00} statement credit. In past, AMEX had clearly communicated via " welcome bonus qualification tool '' if i'd be ineligible for welcome bonus before submitting the application. However, i didn't receive such messages and was instantly approved for this credit card online. I've already paid the annual fee of {$190.00} as of XX/XX/XXXX statement and when i called AMEX to inquire about the status of my welcome bonus offer, to my surprise, i was told by CS rep that welcome bonus is declined for me. They never informed me that i'm not eligible for welcome bonus offer until i asked them. When i asked them to inquire about this, they are accusing me of misusing the system by enjoying welcome bonus and not using the cards in subsequent years. Talking to customer rep, i was told that I enjoyed XXXX or XXXX XXXX card welcome bonus. However, that's not true as AMEX ended it's relationship with XXXX and moved that card to XXXX ( i'm still using it on everyday ) and XXXX moved XXXX cards to AMEX. So they are making this judgement because i've few cards that were transferred out or in and not in use much. I'm surprised that, they never informed me about this before submitting the application or charging me annual fee. The customer service rep have been very rude and unhelpful even after multiple attempt to resolve it.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I made an attempt to transfer membership reward ( MR ) points from my American Express ( AMEX ) account to my XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) account. The transfer was blocked by Amex and I was unable to transfer my points to a trusted travel partner. The points are supposed to be used to book my XXXX award airfare to my own honeymoon next year. I already booked my wife 's ticket on XXXX. This is a time sensitive manner due to XXXX award tickets being limited in amounts and the time it takes to transfer MR points to XXXX ( at least 48-36 hours ). If my MR account freeze is not lifted in a timely manner ( within 24 hours ) I am afraid all XXXX award flight tickets will be redeemed by others, leaving me stranded on my own honeymoon. I have contacted the MR department several times VIA phone and online chat function to try to remedy this situation. I have spoken to customer representatives and supervisors regarding my case. Every attempt to remedy the issue or get clarity has been futile. This is my last attempt to make things right.

Complaint: I have an american express credit card which is earning rewards points everytme i use the card and it had promotion when i opened the card that if i make over {$5000.00} purchase in ninty days then i earn XXXX rewards points. I had opened the card I had met the requirements so i earned the XXXX points. I used this card for all my purchases. few months later the American express just decided to take the XXXX points out of my account and no explanation or email or letter was sent to me. One day i was trying book some flights and i realized that my points were missing so i called them but no one knew why points were taken out. after 14 phone calls they told me they have discretion or power to take any customers points out but i had not done anything wrong. I have been a long time customer and I have used their card normally and i have not misused any thing so i want my points back. I have decided to write a letter to American express CEO but someone suggested to send a letter to CFPB. I hope you can help me get my XXXX point back. Complaint: Hello, I was referred for the American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and was subsequently approved with an offer of XXXX membership rewards points after spending {$5000.00} in 3 months. I met that spending threshold and reached out and was told first that I was ineligible because I previously held this Card, I advised the agent that I had never had the card and that I never had any business card with American Express. Then they told me I was not eligible due to rewards misuse. They told me that when I apply it will tell me if Im not eligible, I did not receive the alert showing me I was not eligible and therefore submitted the application which resulted in both a new account and inquiry on my credit report. I then shifted my business Spend to this card, which American Express benefited from the processing fees/charges. After the Spend was met they advise I am not eligible for the bonus. I find this to be deceptive marketing and they should have to notify consumers prior to spending their money for the offers they are marketing for. I fully expect the promotion to be honored, as I would not have opened this account with American Express if I were ineligible.

Complaint: I have an American Express Credit Card which I am trying to downgrade. I have contacted the company online and also called them but they always say there is error in Amex system therefore they cant downgrade my card. I called again and even chatted online with Amex but I get the same response I am so tired of this. Please help.
