Having problems with customer service
Complaint: I attended XXXX University almost 10 years ago. My students loans were taken out in my name by my mother and not by myself. I did n't know about these loans or agree to them. I found out about the loans after she passed away and now they want to make me responsible for them. 3 years ago I joined the United States XXXX and am trying to go back to school while I serve as a XXXX. I contacted XXXX University to request my transcripts be sent to my new school. They say that they cant release my transcripts until I pay them {$1500.00} which is not possible at this time. I even asked if I could start a payment plan and I was told it had to be paid in full. I even stated that these transcripts are for military purposes and they still refuse to help and send the transcript. They say that they greatly appreciate what our service members do for this country and love helping out, yet they want me to pay {$1500.00} for a {$6.00} transcript and all this is so that I can do the right thing and continue my education to obtain a degree and become an officer in the XXXX

Don't agree with fees charged
Complaint: Received a call from a debt collection agency that is trying to collect on behalf of the XXXX XXXX XXXX. The Williams and Fudge employee will not give me requested information in a timely manner. I was originally contacted XX/XX/XXXX, it is now XX/XX/XXXX and I still have not received any information on how fees were applied to my bill. This employee says that this was not a purchased debt and that collections are handled by Williams and Fudge on behalf of the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have a separate complaint in for the XXXX XXXX, as they have refused to give me any record of previous contact attempts. If Williams and Fudge is handling the collection for XXXX, then they should be able to give me records of previous contact attempts to me or my cosigners.
The bill they 've given me is {$750.00} over the original loan amount, but they will not get me a statement of why or how that was applied. If it was late fees, I want an itemized statement that shows as much, when and how they were applied, if it was attorney fees, then I want to know how they justify applying it when the loan was not sold to them. I 've asked for this since the beginning of our correspondence and still have not received this.
I have told the collector that I do not wish to be contacted by telephone, only via encrypted email, as I can not take personal calls while in the office. For the most part, the collector made good on that requirement ; but on XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX, the collector violated that requirement by attempting to contact me while I was at work via telephone. There are XXXX reasons for not taking these calls. First, I want all of our correspondence in writing in the event that legal action needs to be pursued for either party. Second, I can not take personal calls while on the job, due to its nature.
Overall, it 's been extremely difficult to get any information about this loan at all. I 've already acknowledged that it 's a debt that needs to be paid, but I can not agree to repay it when I do not have any details on how this loan is being handled. I, or my cosigner, never received any correspondence from this company or the original lender after XX/XX/XXXX ( the original repayment date ) until XX/XX/XXXX. They had stated that they could n't get in touch with me or my cosigner using the number that was provided, but they were certainly able to get a hold of me on personal cell months later, where 's the break in communication? When I requested the original loan documents, all that was forwarded to me was the signatory page, none of the other information requested such as when extra fees were applied. If such fees were applied, they have n't been done fairly, as I 've received no notification of a late payment.
Dealing with Williams and Fudge has been a classic case of harassment. They will not give me the information needed to protect my financial interests. If they 'd give me this information in a timely manner, we could talk about creating a win-win for both of us. As it stands, this company has failed to show any interest in such negotiations. If I ca n't pay a reasonable amount over a reasonable amount of time, then they will not be able to collect the loan, I can only assume that they are still tacking on late fees to the amount, which is not fair, since I 've clearly shown a desire to repay, but they 've not been willing to take the burden of being a proper servicer.

Debt was paid
Complaint: It was a late fee from a school. I paid the debt to the school directly in XXXX 2016. It is XXXX 2016, and they continue to attempt to collect a debt I do not owe. Furthermore their collection tactics were illegal. They would call me repeatedly throughout the day, 5-6 days a week on my business phone line even after they were informed that it was a business line.

Debt is not mine
Complaint: In XXXX I was contacted by a representative from XXXX University about returning to school. This was in response to the fact that I was posting my resume on job search sites. I have a varied education ; First year in college, I was XXXX, XXXX year different University, XXXX, then 2 years at different university studying XXXX. A few years later I completed 2 years at XXXX XXXX XXXX, 2 years in XXXX training, and accrued many licenses and certificates. The XXXX University rep tells me they can take all this and my 35 years of XXXX experience into a XXXX or XXXX XXXX. That would look good on a resume.I am XXXX XXXX XXXX at this time, and do not want to spend years in school at this point, but credit for all this plus life experience? He has me apply for admission. This was a common practice when I graduated XXXX XXXX, I applied to several schools and saw who accepted me and chose from those that did. So I applied and was accepted! Pleasant surprise. He said they would have to check on how many credits I would get. I was less inclined to get involved in any education other than employer on the job type, but this guy is calling me daily. XXXX day, again I am telling him know, he says " Let me walk you into a classroom and you can see how it is '' I never do chat rooms or that sort, but he has me log into this conversation. It is about people saying what they want to get from college and what their goals are. He has me wish XXXX or XXXX people good luck and then we left the " Classroom ''. The following week the pressure continues I was losing patience and telling the guy to stop calling which he eventually did after a few more attempts. Meanwhile, I had researched XXXX University on the Internet and found many disparaging comments and negative experiences. This was definitely not for me. I considered the case closed. Fast forward to XXXX. I get some calls offering to renegotiate my student debt. I tell them I do n't have any. I also get calls for credit card debt, life insurance and other stuff on my cell phone. XXXX of my calls are from some company or another going to solve my financial difficulties. I have very good credit. Then I begin getting calls from Williams and Fudge, XXXX XXXX, SC that I owe a debt. I ask what for, they reply XXXX University! What? I told them I do not owe XXXX University, never got a loan, books, credits or started school. After they call me a few more times, I request documentation. They sent me a statement for {$4400.00} in tuition, {$140.00} in books. The {$140.00} was later taken off. In XXXX, XXXX they adjusted tuition to {$1100.00}, and in XXXX XXXX they wrote it off as a bad debt. I am unaware of any of this activity, never received a bill or approved this. I suppose XXXX sold their bad debts to this collection agency which is trying to collect whatever they can. This however is not a bad debt, it is an unjustified debt resulting from aggressive salespeople ( whatever happened to guidance counselors? ) who enroll students in classes and incur charges that the student did not authorize, for services that were not received. My concern is that the collection agency, Williams & Fudge, will damage my credit, report this as an unpaid debt, as they continue to call me. I see that in the meantime, XXXX University and their parent company have basically been shut down for fraud. I feel this is part of that fraud and nuisance efforts to collect this debt shall cease and desist, and no derogatory comments be posted to any of my credit reports. I suppose there are many accounts that XXXX turned over to Williams and Fudge. XXXX never provided any documents, and I never signed anything. In the documentation, it states electronic signature and classes selected, choices made that were news to me. No transcripts were ever requested. Thank-You

Debt resulted from identity theft
Complaint: Williams & Fudge ( Account # XXXX Pin # XXXX / # XXXX XXXX XXXX ) - mailed me a letter trying to collect on a previously disputed very old and unknown fraudulent debt. I mailed them a letter XXXX via certified mail advising that I am a victim of identity theft, the unknown debt they are trying to collect is a time barred debt in which has expired the Florida statue. In addition, I sent them a copy of the police report with a memo telling them to cease contact. Lastly on XXXX a relative called me telling me that this company contacted her very late questioning and not disclosing further information regarding who was calling. I need Williams & Fudge to cease and stop collecting on this fraudulent and unknown debt.

Complaint: William & Fudge keeps calling me and my spouse. They claim I owe money from a balance of about {$600.00} to XXXX University. I attended XXXX XX/XX/1998. I also contacted the school, 7 years ago because of the hold I had on my account, and they told me that it was an error and released my transcripts.
It seems to me that Williams and Fudge has tried to add to the balance of a debt they bought from XXXX.

Don't agree with fees charged
Complaint: I was enrolled for school at XXXX University. At the beginning of the start date I became ill, and was hospitalized. I also had to deal with a XXXX after arriving home. I did n't even start in the school start. I never used their services, did n't get any books, did n't even log on. Their campus logs show that. I explained to student enrollment I was unable to get to a phone during their small window of cancellation sue to being hospitalized. They did n't care, did n't offer nay alternative or ask for proof. because this is a for profit school they did any and everything they could to get almost {$3000.00} from me. I did n't get a service from them. and AGAIN I never logged into their system to start the online courses. I told them I did n't have a job, I am on welfare and the financial aid was the only way I was paying for school. they stated they will continue to call me and ask for me to pay for {$3000.00} knowing I had no way to pay for it. Furthermore, did n't even listen to my valid point that i do not owe this debt.

Debt was paid
Complaint: They have continued to remove and add something into collections on my credit for over 6 months. When I have proof that it should be a balance if {$0.00}.
I attended XXXX back in 2012 which put me at $ XXXX in student loans with them. I dropped out after my first year. They later got into a big lawsuit and I received a letter from XXXX which owns XXXX stating that because of the timeframe I attended and dropped out that my student loans are now at a {$0.00} balance and should be whipped off my credit within 4 months.
However Williams Fudge had them in collections and after receiving the letter they were removed from my collection within two months. I was extremely happy. However for the past 3 months XXXX has continued to add it on my credit score and remove it only from XXXX tho. I called Williams Fudge and explained the situation and emailed them the letter I have. They said they would look into it that was two months ago.
So last month I decided to dispute the collection with XXXX sending them the letter that I received form XXXX. It 's supposed to be completed XXXX XXXX. However Now it is showing on XXXX twice for $ XXXX each..
I 'm getting very upset about this and its effecting me and my wife 's chance of buying a house

Debt is not mine
Complaint: I am writing this through the CFPB so there is record of this communication. I am claiming this debt is not one I owe and I will go to court over this appears on my credit, I am already taking the credit agiencies and XXXX companies to court and I doubt my lawyer will turn down adding XXXX more company. There are XXXX reasons I do not owe XXXX XXXX XXXX any money, the first reason is that I withdrew from the college within the time frame allowed to cancel a contract making it void and the second reason is that XXXX XXXX XXXX never informed me that they were closing schools down due to lawsuits and even under investigation for the same degrees they offered at this school. Is it not the duty of an institution like a for profit college when they are closing schools for a degree I was going to attempt. I never received a single bill from XXXX XXXX XXXX notifying me that I owed anything or I would have tried to deal with them but now I am dealing with you since you are representing them. I will have no give in this issue, drop it for the reasons stated or we go to court.

Keep getting calls about my loan
Complaint: My federal perkins loan has been placed into default by XXXX University. My last payment was XXXX XXXX, 2016 and it is XXXX XXXX today. I am not sure how my loan would go into default that quickly when my federal private loans are further past due.
No Information When I started receiving information from this debt collector ( Williams and Fudge ) I ignored it because I did not know who they were. It sounded like a scam. They would only state that they needed to talk with me about a serious matter.
Return Call They called my work phone. I immediately told them that they could not contact me there. I am not allowed to make personal calls at work. I returned the call the same day and asked why they were contacting me. They told me that I owed an almost {$4000.00} dollar loan, but would not give me any information about the debt. They just kept saying that I would have to contact the servicer, but I did n't know who the servicer was. After a series of questions I found out that they were talking about XXXX University and my perkins loan. They told me that I needed to contact them.
XXXX ( Phone Call XXXX XXXX, 2016 ) I contacted someone at XXXX and they told me that my loan was in default. I said that could n't be true, because I had not received any information from the servicer ( XXXX ). She stated that they never received my deferment paper work. I then told her that I had been making payments and that my last payment was in XXXX. She said that it was n't enough. I told her that I still do n't see how this time frame would send my loan to collections since my last payment was in XXXX. No I did not make a payment in XXXX or XXXX, but they had already sent my debt to a debt collector in XXXX. At the end of our phone call they emailed me deferment paperwork. The paperwork she emailed me does not apply because I am not in school. I left a voicemail on her phone on XXXX XXXX, 2016 and hope to hear from her next week. I 've generally had a good experience with XXXX and there financial aid department but working with Williams and Fudge was a mistake.
XXXX ( XXXX XXXX, 2016 ) I contacted XXXX and they stated that they could not tell me anything about the loan and that I would have to call Williams and Fudge. Williams and Fudge as stated above wo n't tell me anything. I found this strange. They said XXXX moved the loan from them to the debt collector. After a serious of questions I was able to find out that XXXX was the " loaner ''. So I finally understood that XXXX was the entity that I needed to contact.
Williams and Fudge Williams and Fudge called my stepfather who is not a cosigner for the loan on his personal phone. XXXX XXXX was the name of the person that called. She refused to tell him what the call was about so he assumed that I was in danger or hurt. My mother called her back and once again she refused to tell them what the call was concerning. My mother was then angry because the nature of the call made them think that I was hurt or in danger. They were upset that XXXX was contacting them and asking them to call her back, but refusing to say what the call was about.
I believe that Williams and Fudge is violating the FDCPA by doing the following : 1. Making Harassing Phone Calls : They called me on my work office phone number ( I am not allowed to make personal phone calls on my work phone ), Calls during dinner hours, Calls during work hours, Calls repeatedly throughout the day 2. Falsely representing the amount I owe. Williams and Fudge stated that my loan amount had risen significantly due to fees, but they would not tell me what these fees were nor the original amount of the loan. I do n't know what fees they are referring to? They also told me that the entire loan was due in full, but how I am supposed to trust an entity who wo n't even tell me all the information I need about the debt.

Trouble with how payments are handled
Complaint: To whom it may concern, I have been dealing with being unfairly treated by a collections agency by the name of Williams & Fudge Inc. for 4 years now. They refuse to work with me on reasonable terms of repayment and I feel I can never get out of this hole. I dropped out of college after my sophomore year because I had an outstanding balance of over {$12.00}. My single mother and I could not afford to pay back the amount in full. Loans were denied to us left and right. So with a heavy heart I joined the workforce. Due to no degree I could only get entry level jobs like XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX industry. My balance defaulted and eventually went to collections Williams and Fudge Inc., now I owe over {$16000.00}. I ca n't go back to school unless this balance is paid in full. I am currently an XXXX serving on XXXX XXXX and I believe I have additional rights with dealing with this collections agency. I have dreams of becoming a XXXX and this debt is holding me back.
