Charged too much interest
Complaint: On my Wells Fargo Visa card. I was charged a Minimum Interest Charge of {$1.00} on a balance of {$4.00}. That is an annual interest rate of over 250 %! This far exceeds the quoted interest rate on the card of 21.90 %. I believe that the company has made a false statement since their Interest Charge Calculation on the very same bill makes no mention of minimum interest charges. Please help stop this deceptive and unfair practice. There is no reason why a card should be permitted to have a minimum interest charge.

Complaint: My problem is with my mortgage lender Wells Fargo. I continue to get conflicting information from their loss mitigation department in relation to my requests for homeowner assistance programs. One letter I receive tells me I have been reviewed for assistance options too many times so I dont get another chance to have my information reviewed. A different letter states that my only option is a short sale, but later in the same letter it says that I am not eligible for the short sale program. Another letter states that I am eligible for re-entry review because I have had a definitive change in my financial circumstances. Yet the most recent letter says I cant apply for anything other than reinstatement.
XXXX XXXX re ceived over XXXX XXXX dollars in taxpayer funded bailout monies. This was followed up by unprecedented scandal with the fake bank account scam that Wells perpetrated on thousands of innocent account holders. I am not surprised tha t Wells Fargo is talking out of both sides of their mouth. In an earlier letter sent in response to a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau compl aint, Wells gave one response, then they sent conflicting information t o US Senator XXXX XXXX . I dont know how Wells Fargo can get away with this.
I understand that I have received help in the past and I appreciate it. Nonetheless, I deserve the opportunity for a new revie w. Wells Fargo has obstr ucted the process for over 6 months, and for this reason I want the sale date to be postponed, and I need to be approved for re-entry and a new review for modification, forbearance agreement, restructured loan as well as deferred interest and principal forgiveness programs. I dispute the fact that I have exceeded the maximum number of reviews for assistance and assert that this is a guideline and standard that does not exist. I would like for Wells Fargo to provide a copy of their pooling and servicing agreement for this loan and highlight the specific verbiage that states I cant be considered for any type of he lp. Wells Fargo actually c ontradicts themselves ( please see attached documentation ) in the various letters sent out in relation to this matter, but would like to request a copy of this directive, because I am certain it does not exist.
I want to stop the games and start the revie w. Wells Fargo has obst ructed access to all programs for well over 6 months and this needs to stop.

Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Complaint: As most people do, I work very hard and pay my bills. I deposit my checks from work, and in return pay my bills. Before paying my bills or taking money out to give to roommates to pay my share of the bills, I check my account. I do not have the specific dates on hand as to Wells Fargo closing my account. Basically what happened is : I checked my account, paid all my bills that were due. A couple of days later, I get gas at the gas station and buy myself a soda. I check my account, still plenty of money in there. Good. Awesome. Next couple of days, get a soda from the store, {$5.00} here, {$2.00} there. Check my account, - {$600.00}. And some change. Excuse me??? Over 10 of the charges were $ XXXX/ each of overdraft fees. {$350.00}, in overdraft fees! I had even taken a picture of my check in my online statement SHOWING that my deposit had gone through. Well, as I was explained to by a banker. The bank has the right to hold on to my money, and unfortunately even though my account says I am in the green, it is my responsibility to keep accurate records of my transactions, and to not trust what it shows when checking my balance online ( the banker literally told me to not trust what their company shows me! ) They would n't take off any of the overdraft fees. So basically, they showed my deposits ( cash and a check ), as deposited/ cleared. Held on to them, so when I paid my bills and bought a soda at the store, they were taken as a negative plus a charge because they were holding my money. This resulted in me not only losing money that I had worked very very hard for, but also made me struggle to come up with extra money to pay off overdraft fees. After a month of pulling overtime, I paid the bank around {$400.00}. 8 days later when I had the remaining {$120.00}, I went to deposit the money and my card was n't working. I went into the bank and spoke with a banker. They had closed my account and sent it to collections. I had not received any notification, no email, phone call, or letter in the mail. How can they take {$400.00} of my hard earned money and close my account within days of showing good faith? The main issue was, they had already taken all of my money. I was losing money by paying them overdraft fees that should n't have been there in the first place. My bank should be trusted with my money and to not only hold on to my money, but to also be trusted to not cause their customers financial strains.

Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Complaint: On 2017XXXXXX, my checking account was overdrawn by {$170.00}. My savings account was linked to the checking account for overdraft protection, and I had setup automatic overdraft protection in the event that my checking account was ever overdrawn, and a {$12.00} fee would be applied for any automatic transfers resulting from the overdraft protection of my checking account.

On this date, my savings account balance was {$5.00}. Since my checking account balance was - {$170.00}, the automatic overdraft protection was initiated and my savings account balance of {$5.00} was transferred to my checking account to cover the deficit. Luckily for me, I have the financial support necessary to deposit {$510.00} into my checking account via the bank 's mobile app to cover the deficit in my checking account, and I spoke with the bank support team and confirmed that they {$5.00} would be transferred back to my savings account and I would not be charged the {$12.00} automatic overdraft protection fee since I made the {$510.00} deposit to bring my checking account balance back into the positive.

The basis of my complaint is that the amount automatically transferred from my savings account into my checking account was not even sufficient enough to cover the {$12.00} fee that would have been applied to the overdraft protection transaction, let alone cover the deficit in my checking account. So the net result would have been - {$6.00} ( {$5.00} minus {$12.00} fee ) being applied to my checking account balance of - {$170.00}, and I likely would have incurred an additional overdraft fee of {$35.00} on top of that since my checking account balance would still be in the negative. This type of exploitation is a perfect example of the predatory fee practices that banks practice which significantly contribute to lower income individuals being unable to climb out of debt and perpetuates a vicious cycle of high interest payday loans and hefty overdraft fees required to keep an account in " good standing ''.

Complaint: My husband and I currently have a mortgage with Wells Fargo, NA. In XXXX , XXXX our home underwent a fire and was severally damaged. Our homeowner insurance paid out in XXXX of XXXX . We forwarded the payment to Wells Fargo Property Loss Department. During this time we were temporarily relocated to an apartment unit. We communicated with Wells Fargo throughout this process to give them updates on the restoration on the property and request for funds to repair our home. Wells Fargo released the funds in small amounts making it difficult to purchase materials in bulk and completion in a timely manner. As we approached the XXXX month timeline of being out of our home and awaiting release of funds to complete our restoration process, we informed the property loss department that we were running out of Additional Living Expense funds and that the insurance company would no longer be paying our expenses. We urged them to send the remaining funds so that our home could be completed and we could move back into our home before the deadline we were given by the insurance company. We were basically told by one Representative that they were not releasing the money because we would spend it and not make repairs. I found this to be appalling since they had inspectors to come to our home to view the progression of repairs that we had made to our home. To date, we are no longer in our apartment and have had to move out. We are currently renting an additional home and paying for this out of pocket. We are still paying our Mortgage along with utilities at our home, along with the same expenses at our temporary place. We are paying double bills due to Wells Fargo 's delay in payment. This is not fair and has caused us unwarranted expenses. We have been devastated by the events that have occurred in our life with my husband almost losing his life due to the fire. It has been an emotional roller coaster, one that could have been avoided. We are seeking your assistance in having this matter resolved. Thank you so much.

Problem with fees charged
Complaint: I had problems trying to pay online and I could not access the account. I eventually paid loan amount, but as a result of missing deadline, a {$25.00} penalty was imposed. The late fee represents 5 % of outstanding balance for one month. ( That is loan shark rates ) . I feel the penalty was excessive given the balance on the account was one payment away from payoff. They informed me that since they waived a fee in XXXX XXXX that they were unable to waive this fee ( XXXX XXXX ).

Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Complaint: On Tuesday XXXX some items were presented to my account to cause it to overdraw. Money was transferred from my ways to save account to my checking account to prevent this The amount I was overdrawn was {$13.00} and change, and the bank transferred {$54.00} from ways to save One of t he items was an ach payment to XXXX XXXX which was in a pending state, so no need to transfer funds that day, as I could still make a deposit that day once I received the alert. I did make a {$40.00} deposit that evening While item was still pending. I was charged {$12.00} for this privilege to move my own money!!! I complained to the bank about this, and said I wanted the {$12.00} returned As I had made enough of a deposit to cover overdraft. I also had a direct deposit at XXXX XXXX for XXXX dollars!!! The bank returned {$3.00} to me from the {$12.00} fee! I complained several times, and just got double talk. I am sick of this bank, and their fraudulent ways of making money! I want the balance of the {$12.00} that they took from me returned. They have stolen tremendous amounts from me over the years in overdraft fees Due to how they present payments ( high to low order. Something needs to be done about stealing money from working people Pls help Thank you
