Struggling to repay your loan

Student loan: Federal student loan servicing

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I submitted a request through Wells Fargo for a temporary loan modification. I had just started my real estate career in California and I was waiting for a couple of deals to close. In the meantime, I had been working at a restaurant to help pay the bills. My loan was beginning to default and I did not want this problem to spiral out of control. I continued to call into Wells Fargo to check on the status of my loan modification request. They continued to tell my co-signer and I that they still needed additional documents. They also requested documents that I had sent to them before. This raised some concern for my dad and I. If they were n't receiving these documents, where were they going? Was anyone actually handling our request? This chaos went on for an additional four months while my loan continued to default. On XX/XX/XXXX we receieved a letter saying that my request had been denied. I could not believe it. In the matter of four months both my credit and my dads credit had been destroyed. I was now left with an outstanding bill that I could not pay. They told me that there were no other options. Why could I not temporarily lower my payments based on my income? When I talked to a Wells Fargo hardship specialist, he informed me that I did n't have any income and my co signers debt to income was so high that if they dropped their payments I would still be over extended. I asked him why it said that I did n't have an income if I submitted my restaurant pay stubs. He could not give me an answer. If they thought that a lower monthly payment would be a stretch, what did they think would happen when you sent me an outstanding bill for the four months that my application was being processed? I really feel as if they were setting me up for failure. Now I have been making payments on my account even though the loan is still in default. My payment is due on the XX/XX/XXXX of each month. Yesterday I was very sick and forgot to make a payment over the phone. When I called first thing this morning, I was expecting that I would have to pay a late fee. Mind you, this is 12 hours after my payment was due. On XX/XX/XXXX ( today ) I spoke with a Wells Fargo supervisor who told me there was nothing she could to do help me. She said my acct had been sent to collections and she had no telephone contact or any way to help. She said she 's never seen a charge off, which clearly is n't the case if she works for a major bank. She was incredibly rude and offered no support. At the beginning of every call, Wells Fargo let 's the customer know that the call is recorded. If they were to go back and listen they would see just how serious my dad and I were about resolving this issue. All that I asked for was a temporary modification while I waited for a couple of deals to close. I have no idea what to do at this point. Wells Fargo has shown ne that they are not willing to help me resolve this issue.

Account information incorrect
Complaint: I have disputed this account many times every time it 's about the late payments reporting. After many attempts to get this fix I hade a due date change which took months for this company to figure it out. After speaking with multiple supervisors they finally agreed to remove the late derogatory marks off my credit report due to the fact that it was not my fault that it took there company so long to make the change for the account. Also I do have proof that they agreed to remove the derogatory marks off my credit. This is the only negative account that I have on my reports and this is hendering me from purchasing a home. WellsFargo need to do better by there customers. My account has been current and on time since they did the change.

Struggling to pay mortgage

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: I have been frustrated with the way my mortgage lender Wells Fargo has handled the servicing of my mortgage loan for several years. It started when I was steered and pressured into an adjustable rate mortgage loan by XXXX XXXX when I refinanced this house. I was told I did not qualify for anything other than this ARM loan that had an interest rate of 10.26 % and could only go UP from there and go as high as 16.26 %. I have since learned that XXXX specialized in predatory loans and that the loans they wrote were filled with misrepresentations and downright fraud. When I bought this house I was running a successful dance studio so I was able to keep up with the payment at first. Then in XX/XX/XXXX my home was involved in a major electrical fire and there was significant damage. I filed an insurance claim and then hired a contractor to do the work, XXXX XXXX and his firm XXXX XXXX. He hired electricians and plumbers to do the work on my house and while they were still working on finishing the repairs a letter was sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( servicer at the time ) to state that work had been completed and that insurance checks could be disbursed and that they could be made into the name of XXXX Construction/ XXXX XXXX XXXX This letter was signed by me, but I did not write this letter nor did I sign it. Soon after that XXXX was mailing check after check to XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX would forge my endorsement on the check and unbeknownst to me cash them. Eventually the contractor and workers disappeared and the work had not been finished. When I contacted XXXX they said that I had told them they could release the funds. I inquired as to why they did not send out an inspector from XXXX or the insurance company to verify the work was done and they would not give me a straight answer. When I pressed them on the issue of how and why they would handle an insurance claim this way they told me it had always been their company policy to release insurance checks into the name of the contractor and the borrower. I dispute this assertion and demand that Wells Fargo provide proof in writing of this policy, as well as proof of the inspection that was conducted back in XX/XX/XXXX when these insurance checks were being disbursed. XXXX paid out $ XXXX of my insurance money to these thugs, and I found out later that the electrician and plumber were indicted on charges of racketeering. I tried to get this matter straightened out and even went to the XXXX XXXX XXXX Attorney XXXX XXXX, but was never reimbursed. As a result of the stress of this situation as well as the recession my XXXX XXXX sank slowly into the abyss and I fell behind on the mortgage. I tried to apply for a loan modification but was told that my income was not sufficient to qualify. I then contacted the Treasury Fraud department at Wells Fargo to initiate an investigation into the forged checks but was told by Wells Fargo that I had filed my claim too late so they were closing it. Since all of this has gone on, I have rebuilt my life, working full time in XXXX XXXX and making a decent living. I also XXXX on the weekends and do side jobs as a XXXX XXXX to supplement my income. My daughter and son in law live in the house with me and contribute and with this income we make more than enough money to qualify for a restructured or modified loan. The problem now is that Wells Fargo refuses to open a new inquiry, claiming that my financial situation is the same. This is false, they have not conducted a review in some time and have no idea what the current situation is. Wells Fargo has dragged me through the mud from day 1, first with the predatory loan, then by disbursing insurance checks to a contractor who had not finished the work, then by refusing to allow me to be considered for a modification or work out based on my current and correct income.

Struggling to pay mortgage

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: When I originally got the loan we never signed all of the paperwork. The lady they sent said she would bring back some papers and never did. All of the papers are not signed by me. The loan is now illegal, it is a loan where the payments and interest goes up every year. The payment amounts do not match what is on some of the paperwork that we received. The payments have always been higher than they were ever supposed to be. We have tried for years to get a modification with them and was denied every time. I got forced into bankruptcy many times because of this loan. There are many discrepancies with this loan and the mortgage co will never send us any papers we ask for. I am again in bankruptcy due to this loan. I am XXXX and not in great heath. This company is Wells Fargo. They are already proved to be frauds with all aspects of their company, from all the way back in history with XXXX XXXX. Wells Fargo should be held accountable for what they do to people. They have never tried to help me. I would really appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you for your time

Managing an account

Checking or savings account: Savings account

Fee problem
Complaint: Wells Fargo forces me to have accounts that I do n't use. They tell me that if I do n't have a savings account they will charge me fees to my checking account. I opened a business account but I do n't have much activity yet with the account except a couple of transactions, and every month they charge me {$14.00} fee because I have not swiped the debit card XXXX times. I already have my debit card active for my personal account, so 99 % percent of the time I just swipe my personal card. I do n't want to have to close my business account, because of this fee, but it feels like the bank is just gouging my account every month for fees, and not trying to do anything to help me out as a customer. Over the last 12 months, I have XXXX fees totaling {$56.00}. I had to speak to a bank rep XXXX time, and was able to get them to refund XXXX because I was able to show her that I was having issues using my card in the beginning when opening the account, but it was like pulling teeth. I 've also been charged {$15.00} for fees on a savings account that again I 'm forced to have. I was told I needed to have a savings account when I opened my checking account in order to have a " free '' account with no fees. They force me to transfer {$25.00} every month into savings account. If no transfer is made they charge me {$5.00}. Last month my scheduled transfer did n't complete because I had low funds probably, and then it seems to have canceled this months scheduled transfer. So now they slapped with a {$5.00} fee for that. This bank will charge you fees for anything. Please help me get my money back from these theives. It 's all over the news how the bank illegally had their staff create these accounts.
