Problem getting your free annual credit report
Complaint: have tried the web portal dozens of times on different days and it never works. asks for my information just as it appears on credit report - enter that and it returns message that the data is incorrect or portal is not operable try again later. have tried on these days in the past few weeks ( XX/XX/XXXX ). i need to dispute an address associated with my account, a collection and late charges. i can not do that because the portal does not work. i have called and could not reach a human to get assistance. i do not have a printer so i can not print out the issues and send by US MAIL to the company to dispute - and i certainly don't have time to transcribe all of this - no should i have to. TransUnion site does not work UNLESS you buy a subscription to the annual services. Consumer has a legal right to 1 free copy of report annually and the ability to dispute the items on report anytime ... but it is impossible to do these things. please, try it for yourself. see if you can set up an account to get ONLY transunion 's report -- - note that transunion site takes you to XXXX -- - but there you can ONLY order all 3 credit reports - not just TransUnion. i have already got my annual free copy of XXXX and XXXX - so this route fails when i try it. then go to transunion 's website. can you find a way to navigate to your free annual report??? i can't. i get to a portal - finally get logged in ( yes, it finds me - matches name to SSN ) -- but when i try to start the dispute process it tells me it can't find my information and to check my entries and try again. same thing for week after week. no online help. call 800 number and can't reach a person - only recordings. Dates in last XXXX weeks I have attempted to make corrections ( XX/XX/XXXX ) XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX this is crazy. i have a problem - i try to report it, but can't. i appeal to cfpb and get a generic non-relevant response to my complaint and cfpb closes the dispute calling it resolved. this is criminal. i'm a real person who needs good credit. please help me.

Complaint: This is a secondary complaint to Complaint # XXXX, since nobody at the CFPB or TransUnion actually read the detail of that first complaint. Maybe if I dumb this down a bit it will be easier to comprehend, understand, and resolve. I have requested method of verification from TransUnion three times and have not received it yet. I just keep getting generic responses that my disputes were validated. Who holds credit bureaus accountable? This is a clear, straight-forward violation of the FCRA and nobody is doing anything about it. Credit bureaus are required by law, in accordance with Section 611 ( a ) ( 6 ) and ( 7 ) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), to provide consumers with the method of verification and description of the procedures used to determine the accuracy and completeness of their investigation into disputed information, WITHIN 15 DAYS of request by a consumer. I requested this three times now, the first time being two months ago, to no avail. TransUnion : If you can not provide me with method of verification and description of the procedures used to determine the accuracy and completeness of my disputed information WITHIN 15 DAYS OF MY ORIGINAL REQUEST, you MUST delete the disputed information. I am making this request publicly viewable, as I hope others out there can learn from my experience and know your rights under the FCRA. We need to work together to hold credit reporting agencies accountable!
