Complaint: Re : Gateway One Lending I paid total balance of my auto loan. But they continue to withdraw bimonthly payments and deny it when I have called them. Re : loan # XXXX. On XXXX a payment was sent to pay off the total balance of my car loan. On XXXX and again on XXXX they continued to take bimonthly payments from my checking account for {$230.00} each time. Every time I call them -- they deny that they are doing this. On XXXX I spoke with " XXXX '', he informed me this must be someone else taking money from my account. All of transactions have always been listed as " XXXX '' # XXXX with each deduction. I disputed/claim # XXXX with my bank XXXX XXXX on XXXX. I have since been informed my bank has denied the dispute because my request was not submitted during the merchant 's required time frame. I want my money they took out my account.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 several automated withdrawals were taken from an unauthorized company in XXXX, XXXX. from my checking account. As well as a second company called XXXX. XXXX amount was {$1900.00}. XXXX had 4 transactions totaling {$36.00}. All transactions were still pending when I discovered them and immediately went to the bank to file a fraud dispute and to the police department to file a police report. Dispute numbers with TCF Bank : XXXX XXXX XXXX Michigan police department case reference number XXXX The bank did not flag my account or these two companies for further fraudulent activity and advised me against closing the account as I still had a handful of outstanding checks to be cleared and they said they would not reversed fees or honor payment through a secondary savings account. I was also told this dispute would be resolved within 3 to 5 business days. On Friday XX/XX/XXXX, I received two letters from the bank asking for more information. Really the letters just asked for the same information I had already filed and needed to be returned to their dispute center. I immediately responded via email with both documents and screenshots of the account activity. I also returned to my local bank to close both of my savings accounts as well as the checking account in question and was told again not to completely close out the checking account until the dispute was closed or they would not be able to refund my money. On Monday XX/XX/XXXX another attempt from XXXX to withdraw {$1500.00} was made. The bank had not flagged this or the company and luckily I found it while still in pending status. after 30 minutes on the phone trying to get to a supervisor at TCF Bank headquarters I was able to have those charges reversed and my account frozen. I've now been told that this dispute will still be worked on for up to another 5 business days before they will then send me a letter with their determination VIA u.s. mail and that latter will let me know how long it will take for them to refund my money. As a 25-year customer of TCF Bank, I am appalled that there has been no attempt at assisting me in alleviating further fraudulent activity but I have instead been treated as the guilty party and threatened with late fees and charges due to this illegal activity. I have also been refused access to talk with anyone in their fraud department on numerous occasions.

Complaint: I filed a dispute with TCF National Bank on XX/XX/2019 due to fraudulent charges on my account. Someone had hacked into my checking account and stole {$600.00}. They accessed the money via XXXX and charged my account {$20.00}, 30 separate times in total transactions. I filed a police report with the fraudulent charges as well. TCF National bank advised that the dispute was closed in my favor, and that they would credit my account the balance that was withdrawn from my account without consent. First, they advised that the funds would be restored to my account. Then they indicated that they had a new policy put in place and needed to send out an official bank check for the amount. I was advised on XX/XX/XXXX that a check was processed and sent and that I should receive it within 7-10 business days. I called on XX/XX/XXXX because I hadn't received a check as of that day, and then was advised that it was cut on XX/XX/2019 and it would take an additional 7-10 business days to be delivered. I called TCF customer today, XX/XX/2019, as I still have not received the check, and they advised that they do not have a date in which the check will be cut because they are being pushed back. I just want my money back that they advised they were going to send to me.

Complaint: I opened an account with TCF bank, I enrolled with 2 deposits. The only correspondence I received from them was an email stating my new debit card was on the way. Today I went in to make another deposit, and they told me my account was frozen. Apparently I need an in-state ID to open an account, something I wasn't told when I initially opened my account and they took my deposits and information. Because I'm visiting family, I don't have utility bills in my name, even though the check I wanted to deposit ( and the check I deposited earlier ) have my EXACT name and address. I guess that doesn't count. I was treated extremely rudely by the teller at this bank, and also told I won't be able to withdraw my funds for almost 2 weeks, even though the bank decided to close my account! There are no other flags with my name, or previous fraud or problems that would account for this behavior. This has been a complete waste of my time and it seems unethical and illegal to keep my funds when TCF made the decision to close my account. Why was I allowed to open an account when these are your practices and you didn't disclose them from the beginning?

Complaint: This is regarding a checking account I opened with XXXX XXXX in the beginning of XX/XX/2019. I opened the account online without any issue and paid the minimum deposit ( {$25.00} ) immediately. Over a month went by and I hadn't received my debit card in the mail so I contacted them only to fin out the account had been closed. While this struck me as strange, I didn't protest as their customer service and general apathy up to this point left me feeling content to sever the relationship. However, 2 unresolved issues arose from this : A ) They confirmed my account was closed on XX/XX/2019 yet did not return my balance I had from the minimum deposit I made and they still haven't nor have they expressed an intent to even though as I understand it they are legally obligated to do so. And B ) I happened to have requested my XXXX report at the time all this was happening and it seems TCF reported my account to XXXX as " closed for cause '' which is a serious thing to add to someones XXXX report, when I asked TCF about this they claimed they don't know anything about it nor how to fix it nor why this report was made. Keep in mind, I had NO ACTIVITY on this account other than opening it and giving them the deposit which they have thus far absconded with on TOP of damaging my XXXX report which consequently cause my checking account at another financial institution to be closed which incurred significant damages to my professional, personal, and financial well being. Again, ZERO transactions, no interaction with the account in any way yet they file this obviously fraudulent report at my expense, and withhold my remaining balance for no reason. I contacted customer service 8 times now via phone and email and they either pretend not to understand me and just yell over me, or claim there is nothing they can do. Please help. I very much appreciate your attention to this matter and am happy to provide further documentation of these events upon request. Regards

Complaint: I was charged {$4.00} for the last 3 months for a service fee totalling {$12.00}. A letter from TCF bank stated that as of XX/XX/2019 a {$10.00} fee will be charged for accounts with no activity for 365 days or less than {$250.00} in the account. I opened an account on XXXX {$50.00}. Ther has been no activity since, now the account is {$12.00} short. Their terms and conditions state they may charge a fee but never notified me of a fee process except for the letter mentioned above which is not binding until XXXXThier 10 page fee schedule does not state any exact maintenance fee schedule. I believe this is an inproper business practice using a 36 page T & C booklet and a 10 page fee booklet without specifically showing a fee.

Complaint: This happened to me with TCF. I was in possession of my ATM/Debit card at the time of both incidents. On XXXX, a ATM withdrawal for {$200.00} was taken from my account. The next day, WHILE I was at the branch filing a fraud report, another {$200.00} was taken from my account, while the Assistant manager was looking at my account. It seemed like it was obvious that there is fraud involved. She filed the second claim. Today, I was notified that both claims were denied because " I let someone have my card and PIN ''. In the branch today, I was told that they were " re-filing '' the claim and that the decision is not up the branch. In short, the thief has my {$400.00}, I am out {$400.00} ( the two withdrawals plus two ATM fees ). The thefts happened on XX/XX/2019 at XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. I reported this to the TCF Branch at XXXX XXXX XXXX inside of the XXXX XXXX to the Asst. Manager XXXX XXXX ph. XXXX I also filed a police report. I've been to the branch, as of today, on three separate occasions to deal with this issue to no avail. I've also contacted the fraud department.

Complaint: I acquired a loan thru Gateway One Lending & Finance, a TCF Bank Company approx. 3 years ago thru a application at a car dealership for the purchase of a used vehicle. I have contacted Gateway numerous times ( in writing and verbally ) explaining that I work at a Healthcare facility and do not want to be contacted while at work. I have explained they are able to contact me via my cell phone, usps mail or via email. I sent a email on XX/XX/21 telling them they are not to contact at work. They email was received and responded to by a Gateway One representative. This company continues to use illegal and underhanded collection techniques and in the past have contact friends and family. I would like to file a formal compliant against this company and their continued illegal practices.

Complaint: The company in which I have a vehicle loan went out of business due to fraudulent activities to thousands of people like myself. I am attaching websites to show the length of unethical activities they participated in as it relates to my own situation. Apparently, when they went out of business, they sold the existing vehicle loans to a unknowingly third party company in which they did not transfer accurate records. I have been locked out of the online portal of my online account several times after calling the number given to me from the former Gateway One company to reach the third party company that is supposed to be handling the completion of the vehicle loans after the company went out of business. I have called hundreds of times to fight to gain access to my statement after the third party company told me verbally over the phone that my balance was always over {$900.00} even after I called in to pay my bill, the balance never went down. I was transferred from another country ( where the 1-800 # routes you to ) and I requested to speak with someone in America. Everytime I was transferred to someone in America, they told me that they did not see that I owed {$900.00} plus dollars. The third party company outside of America stated that I had two repossessions of this vehicle and that is what made up the extra money owed. My vehicle has never been repossessed. I have never received any court documents, certified mail or notification of a repossion since I have owned this vehicle. The vehicle has never been taken from me in any way. I again called hundreds of times to find out how this happened. I was hung up on from the international person that transferred me over for several months. I contacted my local attorney general 's office to get help. They researched this and told me that their were thousands of complaints and the company was forced out of business by the courts. They helped me get Gateway one to give me access to the statement so that I could see the false charges on my statement. They also helped me put a fraud alert on all of my credit reports. They stated that since the company was out of business, the credit reports would investigate it and remove it. After I gained access to my online statement, I saw the false repossession charges myself. I called back again to Gateway One and asked to speak with someone in America. I spoke to a woman who introduced herself as the manager of the repossession department. She stated that her name was XXXX. She put me on hold and pulled up my account number. She came back on the line and stated, no you do not have any repossessions under your account. I will contact the accounting department to have this removed. I asked for a copy of all of my records from Gateway One to ensure that nothing was showing up under my name. The attorney general also asked me to do this so that I can see any certified mail, court documents or FDIC required documents that Gateway One would have had to file in order to initiate or administer a repossession under my name. I was told that since their was no repossession, there was nothing that she could send me. So, the attorney general helped me mail a packet of evidence to each credit bureau to get the false and inflated repossession charges off my statement so that I can have the correct pay-off amount. I paid it down to under {$2000.00} at this point, but with the fees, it is still showing over {$4000.00} in error. When the credit bureaus investigated this, Gateway One ( who refused to respond to me or the attorney general with evidence of any repossession paperwork or notification date and sign stamped or certified ) send false statements to the credit bureau and are continuing to report the wrong amount on my credit report. This has been going on for over two and a half years. After Gateway One went out of business, the new administrator has told me several times that they have no evidence or paperwork of any repossession under my name. However, after the credit reporting agencies investigated them, they must have supplied false documents to get the credit agencies to keep the wrong amount on file which shows not only one, but TWO repossessions. I called back to Gateway One after getting an update from the credit bureaus. I spoke to XXXX who stated that he was the manager. He again assured me that no repossessions were showing up under this account and that he was going to speak to his manager to review the statement and have an updated copy showing no false repossession fees. He stated that he would mail me a copy of the updated statement showing me the accurate pay-off amount so that I could pay it off and have the correct amount. He never contacted me back. A few months went by and Gateway One again sent a 3rd party person in another company to call me stating that I owed over {$900.00} including two repossession fees. The company went out of business due to falsifying thousands of people like my account. It has been very frustrating to try to show integrity and pay off this loan when they refuse to remove false repossession fees and destroying my credit. I would like to see a copy of the certified court stamped repossession documents signed by a judge, a copy of all of my internal records from Gateway One and all of their third party contractors and a copy of the information they submitted to all three credit bureaus. This evidence will provide clear proof that these repossession fees are fake and are being used to harass consumers like me when companies are exposed for not honoring the FDIC and Consumer Protection laws. Please help me, please! These people don't care about no one!

TCF Bank copied my deposit checks and sent to the bank in front of me. I wait for over two months without the reply. I asked the reason. They said they do not reply me. You can contact them. They refuse the compensation. I said I only gave money as deposit for your TCF Bank. You gave to the bank without my permit and I do not know that you gave the bank and I do not know that bank. Thus I only ask your TCF Bank compensation. TCF Bank refuse the compensation. Because TCF Bank owes my money. It is the fact and they refuse the compensation. Thus I ask TCF Bank to compensate {$2500.00}. Add interests. Now the national all attorney general together object the company to bully the People. Therefore I ask the compensation.
