Complaint: My mortgage company forced placed flood insurance on my property when I already had flood insurance coverage. The flood coverage I purchased started on XXXX/XXXX/2016. In XXXX 2016 the mortgage company said the coverage was not enough and to raise the coverage by $ XXXX, so I did to {$190000.00} and back dated the higher coverage to XXXX/XXXX/2016. The mortgage company never told me in advance how much coverage to have. In fact when I called them they told me to have my insurance broker make the coverage assessment. The mortgage company is charging me {$25.00} which is their premium for coverage from XXXX/XXXX/2016 to XXXX/XXXX/2016. They tell me they wont reverse their flood coverage even though they never told me how much coverage to have. I want them to reverse their premium and to have a policy in place so I know in advance of how much coverage I need before purchasing flood insurance. Property loan balance is $ XXXX. Do n't I only need enough coverage to pay off the loan?

Complaint: We have our mortgage loan with Seterus. In XXXX 2016 we requested to have our escrow account closed. They closed our escrow and sent us our escrow surplus but did not adjust our payment amount to reflect principal and interest only. When we paid our XXXX 2016 and XXXX 2016 payments, it was not enough to satisfy the PITI amount, and put it in a suspense account, resulting in us getting charged a late fee of {$20.00} for both months. We called Seterus and asked them to adjust our payment amount and to credit back the {$41.00} in late charges.

Complaint: i had a mortgage loan through XXXX XXXX XXXX and paid on time for years under a bi-weekly payment program. in XX/XX/XXXX i graduated from college and had to move away in order to become employed. i tried to sell my home and could n't. in XX/XX/XXXX i moved to XXXX to take a better job, and so I was paying for the mortgage in XXXX along with my rent in XXXX, student loans, etc. I fell behind on 3 of the every-two week payments later in XX/XX/XXXX. I brought cash to a XXXX branch in XXXX, XXXX where I currently live to make my mortgage current on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and they applied the {$900.00} payment to my credit card account and not my mortgage account, and then refused to reverse that ( I have the letter for this ). At this point in time I had received NOTHING from Seterus or from XXXX informing me that they were selling my loan. Later that month, they sent me information ( conveniently dated on XX/XX/XXXX ) that Seterus now had control of my loan. They forced me to modify my loan to a 40 year loan (! ) and even while I made payments on this, they held them in suspense, ruined my credit and kept telling me I was in default of my mortgage. There have been numerous unexplained fees and late fees throughout the term of this loan ( for the past 19 months ). It was a full year ago that I got a letter that the modification was complete. This took them 8 months to do, and they reported me as not paying every month even though I was, and held the payments in " suspense ''. Last year, I was able to rent the house since it still wo n't sell, and have been making the payments on time. XX/XX/XXXX, I have paid the mortgage two weeks in advance, so imagine my surprise when I got a statement dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX that said that I owed two months mortgage for an XXXX XXXX due date and that I was in default of my agreement. On XXXX XXXX, I called and a representative and told me that they would get that reversed. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I received another letter telling me that I was in default and the header says " Why have you delayed working with us? ". Today I called Seterus again ( and the XX/XX/XXXX payment has also been made ) and I was told by XXXX XXXX that even while the representative that I spoke to on XXXX XXXX requested the reverse that someone decided that was not acceptable. She said this is because my loan was just modified XX/XX/XXXX. So, today they are again refusing to work with me, and will not apply my mortgage payment made on XXXX XXXX to my mortgage that was XX/XX/XXXX on XXXX XXXX, and and they are telling me I am {$900.00} and something in arrears and that {$560.00} is being held in suspense. At this point, I have nothing to think except that they are trying to take my house. I have every record, and every statement that these people have sent me and I am desperate for help. In addition to all of that nonsense, I am in the process of having to evict my tenant in XXXX as she has been in the house for 3 months without paying rent. Please, please help me or direct me to someone who can. I can not make an additional payment and believe that the payment I sent in for my mortgage should have gone to pay my mortgage. This makes no sense to me.

Complaint: My name is. I am writing in regards to the problem I have been experiencing with Seterus, which owns my mortgage. My account loan number is. I moved out of my home on XXXX XXXX, XXXX due to a pending divorce. I returned to the house in XXXX of XXXX to resume residency as my ex wife had moved out. My ex wife did not pay the XXXX or XXXX XXXX mortgage, so I paid the mortgage for XXXX XXXX prior to moving into the house XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I received the statement that said the amount owed was approximately {$10000.00} at the time I moved back in which included the present month 's mortgage, which was {$21.00} .... I made XXXX payments in XXXX and XXXX in XXXX of XXXX to catch up the XXXX missed payments. Although I caught up, they continued to tell me and list that I was behind XXXX more payments.
I had repeatedly asked the same questions to numerous people on the phone at Seterus and requested paperwork to explain what the remaining balance was after making double payments. I had been quoted various balances over the phone and on paperwork, but no one could tell me what the detailed balance was. I have been told in the past that the balance stemmed from missed payments. I again requested statements from as far back to when Seterus first had the account, but could not find any late payments on record, yet I was paying late charges and my credit rating stated the mortgage was delinquent. I went back and forth with Seterus throughout XXXX to find the missing payments with no accurate statements to show missing payments. However, in the meantime, I was still and currently am paying late charges each month continually since XXXX XXXX.
I received a letter from Seterus on XXXX XXXX, XXXX after requesting information on the balance again around the middle of XXXX XXXX. The letter I received on XXXX XXXX, XXXX informed me that the balance owed was {$3200.00} ( {$2700.00} was interest and {$490.00} for Property Inspection Costs that I know nothing about. ). There was no mention of the {$4300.00} listed as late payments that was listed on the monthly statement. The paperwork that I have been receiving has conflicting balances of what I owe and why I owe it. They still have not cleared up any late or missed payments. Their records are unclear, newly created and conflicting. I still have no record from them showing missed payments, yet my credit is listed as delinquent and they continue to charge me late fees. In addition, the clerks on the phone are uninformed and no past record or notes are available to them from my many phone conversations and paperwork I had sent to them. I have to continually restate my grievances and request information on why the account is delinquent. Now I have a letter with new bizarre charges. Please help me clear up this mess with Seterus. I have exhausted all my avenues without a successful solution.

Complaint: I was directed to fax a waviers letter on the late charges to the correspondence inquiries dept. Put their to me to talk with them. I ask that their put and listens to all calls from XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX was told if I pay {$2200.00} that XXXX later charges would be taken of my Seterus Account each was {$26.00} my Seterus Account would be even this was okay by the supervisor but only {$78.00} was taken off my account. I only owe {$26000.00} on my loan. Seterus is trying to take my home. In XX/XX/XXXX I find out Seterus dropped my flood insurance XXXX XXXX I had over 20 years and added their own flood insurance for almost three times over XXXX price. I nor XXXX was never notify on the renewal their paid XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX why not in XX/XX/XXXX. Now I must pay for a flood elevations certified to go back to high point XXXX insurance which cost over {$600.00}. Now XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I 'm being told I have to pay the extra which was never discussed with me.

Complaint: Dear XXXX. Seterus is charging me fees to see if I still live in my home ( I requested it me be retured ). They " say '' they send a guy out to see if I still live there. I call them every month and talk to them. Setures took the account over XX/XX/XXXX15. I tryed to pay extra to get caught up on my account ( now does that sound to you of a guy who is going to abandon the property? ) .If they give me back my late fees and house watch fees their would be enough in the account to get caught up but NO, all the care about is money and stealing homes for huge profits.WHY do I need these crimminals handling my account for, they do n't care about communities or people they have to step on. I call them to investage my payments to see what the mistake was make and to call me. They told me they do n't call people with the results, WHY? What are they hiding, so they send paper work they you need a lawyer to explain what it means and they know I ca n't afford that so they get away with if. WHY are n't you as a goverment agency helping me with this problem againest these crimminals? SO NOW they took MY extra money and applied it to the principle, I NEVER GAVE THEM PREMISSION TO DO THAT, just another way for crimminals to get more money from me. I am asking you as a goverment agency to get my money back and apply it to the back taxes account or have then send me a chech for the FULL AMOUNT.

Complaint: I have been trying to stop the mortgage companies ( Seterus ) forced place insurance policy ( XXXX XXXX ) for over a year now. I have sent in my insurance company 's policy with the policy number to show proof of current homeowner 's insurance. There is proof that the current policy was received because someone from the insurance division of Seterus or XXXX called my insurance agent. I know about the call to my insurance agent because the representative from Seterus or XXXX was so rude and demanding that my personal agent threatened legal action if they called back and then called me to go over the call.
Trying to explain and apologize for my mortgage company 's call was very embarrassing. After researching how to stop the mortgage companies forced placed insurance I have found numerous cases like mine. I have homeowner 's insurance on my home and Seterus has imposed homeowner 's insurance on the home and demanded I pay for it. This has me paying for XXXX insurance premiums a month. A few of the examples and lawsuits I have found that are related to my case because they either involved forced placed insurance when the defendant already had insurance, the same insurance company, and in the state of XXXX are as follows.
1 ) The XXXX XXXX and XXXX lawsuit ( case number XXXX, in U.S. District Court for the District of XXXX ) 2 ) The case is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX et al., Case No. XXXX, in the US District Court for XXXX XXXX XXXX A XXXX federal judge on Friday granted preliminary approval to XXXX XXXX XXXX settlement.
4 ) A lawsuit against XXXX XXXX and XXXX was recently granted class-action status by a judge in XXXX who alleged the XXXX companies " colluded in a scheme to artificially inflate the premiums charged to homeowners '' 5 ) XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX have agreed to pay XXXX to settle claims that they engaged in a kickback scheme inflating the cost of insurance that homeowners were forced to buy.
The added insult is that in XXXX 2015 there was storm damage to my home. A roofing company made the necessary repairs on my home and I file a claim with XXXX to cover the roof repairs. They have dragged the claim along and have yet to pay out on the claim. I have twice provided the numerous pages of information that XXXX requested, however, nothing has been completed. Not only is Seterus forcing me to pay for a homeowner 's policy I do not need, nor want, that insurance agency is refusing to process the claim and pay the roofing company the money they are owed. If that roofing company goes to collections then any restitution should be paid by Seterus or XXXX as they are at fault for not paying out on a legitimate claim from an insurance policy forced upon me.
Seterus has said it is my responsibility to provide the current hazard insurance. I HAVE PROVIDED the insurance and the proof of address change from XXXX County. Seterus has also CALLED my insurance agent personally and talked with them, see above. As for the storm damage, there were multiple storms XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2015. There was siding and damage to the house in XXXX and we waited to repair the roof. The storm in XXXX damaged the roof further and the company came out in XXXX and repaired the roof. These were XXXX different storms that caused damage.
I have included the letter that I sent to Seterus, twice, from XXXX County providing the new address and I have included the Insurance forms from shelter. Thank you for your help.

Complaint: Seterus have a very bad customer service organization. The first 12 minutes of any call is them verifying and re-verifying all of your information even if you talked to them that same day. The servicers do not read your information in the notes after verifying who you are or prior to calling you. I have asked for 8 years, providing documents by email, fax and snail regarding my name change, with documented proof they request, at least 10-15 times. And, I notify them every single time I call that I am divorced. They still have not taken care of it. They are rude and inconsiderate. I believe I they have taken steps to hurt my account and credit because of this. I have had payments applied incorrectly, using late payments and misallocated a regular monthly payment in order to make negative marks on my credit. I requested a modification, was told I needed to miss 4 payments to do so. So I did, they came back with a horrible offer, which I had no choice but to accept. Now I am in a 40 year loan at 5.5 % interest, with bad credit on two fronts because of Seteres. They in NO WAY look out for their customers best interest. Lastly, I had a flood at my house. My insurance promptly paid. Seteres took the money. After 6 weeks, Seteres still has n't given me the money to pay contractors. I had to use 2 months worth of mortgage payments to pay out of pocket so I did n't get a lien on the house BECAUSE OF SETERES. They are rude, clueless robots that only hurt the situation and have no concern about anyone 's wellbeing.
