Complaint: Our home mortgage was sold to XXXX. They hired Seterus Inc. to service the loan. This year, Seterus began demanding money in excess of the required monthly payment under the loan documents. They threaten to foreclose if the extra amount is not paid, but we have not paid it. When I asked for an explanation they simply remained silent. I am an attorney. I believe they are demanding excess funds not authorized by the mortgage. They do nothing when we refuse to pay. This has been going on for about five months. The amounts they are demanding make no sense. They are different every month. I checked on the Internet, and they seem to be doing this to many other people. I believe it is a scheme to defraud people out of money they do not owe. There is other misconduct Seterus is committing. If you run a search on the Internet for Seterus Inc., these consumer complaints show up. I am certain I have not heard all of them yet. I can not believe this misconduct is occurring. I feel sure that the owner of the loan does not know about this.

Complaint: Our mortgage was transferred to XXXX then XXXX, and now Seterus inc after experiencing a financial hardshipp a few years ago ; since then our lives have been full of surprises, every time we turn around we finding out different problems. Our most recent was in XXXX XXXX XXXX I schedule a payment thru their web portal however we noticed that the funds had not been withdrawn from our bank account my husband, and my self have been in touch with the bank, XXXX XXXX, and of course this so call company. It is now XXXX XXXX and our issue has not been resolved. We are hopping that this is not an other trick to cause a late payment this way we are not going to be able to apply to remove the PMI that we have been paying since we bought our house back in XXXX. Due to the financial crisis the value of our home is low. And this is just the most recent problem back in XXXX I filled for bankruptcy however the mortgage was not included up to now I am still trying to make understand that this was not included in the bankruptcy. They keep asking me for a reaffirm letter from my lawyer I have discussed with my lawyer, and I was told that I do not need to reaffirm. During the time that the bankruptcy was in process they had increased our escrow, but we were never notified so every time we were making payments they did not post them and as result we end up having several miss payments because according to them the amount sent was not wright. In the mean time they never made a call to let us know. They also send someone to inspect the house and of course we were not aware, and there was a charge of {$15.00}, but because we did not know we did not added to our mortgage payment. I also changed my last name and I sent a written request to have this changes made. I do n't think any XXXX had the courtesy to look at my request. I have been reading many complaints about this company, and I can assure you that everyone is describing the horror they are living with this so call company. Please someone MUST have some compassion, and should try to help investigate the issues that many of us are going thru. I hope my complaint is not just XXXX more for the collection of this living hell situation, I also forgot to mention that when I requested to speak to a supervisor I was never transferred to no body. Please who ever is in charge to make sure that customers are treated with dignity, and respect needs to reenforce, and advocate for all of us and definitely take this crooks from continuing ruining peoples lives. We have already enough stress in our lives to worry about what is being done to our finances. I must also say that banks are so cruel to give your loan to people that do not know what their doing. Life is very strange on day your up the next day you maybe down. And when things like this happen is very frustrated. Thanks

Complaint: My house is under contract to be sold. I requested a payoff statement from Seterus Inc back on XXXX XXXX. As of XXXX XXXX that payoff statement has not been provided because they had a " system upgrade '' back in XXXX and are months behind. According to the CFPB website, lenders are supposed to provide a payoff within 7 days. Please help me meet my contractual obligation by assisting me in getting a payoff statement.
I was also made aware that this lender is supposed to provide a statement showing my payment and how it 's being applied. It 's been YEARS since I received a statement from Seterus.

Complaint: 'll admit upfront I was late for XXXX days on XXXX dollars when my escrow creeped up in XX/XX/XXXX. When they called me in XX/XX/XXXX they told me I was XXXX month late. I was n't sure what to think, so I went on their website and found the escrow issue and made immediate payment. I called them back and asked if forgiveness was possible. XXXX ( the cust. serv. ) said I had to send in bank records and they 'd need XXXX days to decide.lol By the time XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX had passed I had XXXX late payments against me even though I had paid all my P & I and taxes and insurance up to date. Just not the late payments. If they had n't tacked on late payments i was never XXXX days late ever.
Also, I made payments XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. The XXXX payment on the XX/XX/XXXX should n't have been processed until XX/XX/XXXX, but they Processed it on the XX/XX/XXXX. IN XXXX YEARS THEY HAVE NEVER PROCESSED A PAYMENT IN UNDER XXXX DAYS. Then, I 've never paid ahead of time. Still their records show they put the moneys in suspense not principle. These guys are playing games to balk consumers out of late charges. I need help to get these guys back, and to restore my credit rating.

Complaint: Seterus purchased my loan in XXXX 2015, I sent in additional principal payments, that were applied to future months regular payments both Interest & Principal. I asked for payoff amount and sent in check for that amount. It was also applied incorrectly and now receive notice that I still owe {$7.00} for the XXXX payment, should have been paid off at the end of XXXX. They also now want me to pay for flood insurance XXXX {$630.00} XXXX to cover {$78000.00}. I have contacted them numerous times and have been told someone will call me back. Still have n't heard back from anyone, wonder if I will ever get my deed. They use terms like we will have this dealt with in 30 days. Also wonder if they will acknowledge they took interest money that was for in future months.

Complaint: I unfortunately had to file for Chapter XXXX protection XX/XX/XXXX. I happily met all my financial obligations and my Bankruptcy was discharged XXXX. I called my lender ( Seterus ) XX/XX/XXXX and provided all requested paperwork. Seterus informed me their " cure '' period to release my account from BK was 90-120 days. It has now been 196 days and my account still shows that it 's in " BK '' because they had a software upgrade and they are months behind. My house in under contract to be sold. Seterus will not provide a payoff statement because according to them ... .I 'm still in BK. I have informed them that my house is scheduled to close next week and all they can tell me is that it will be another 60 days before they can provide a payoff and let my house close. I will now be in breach of contract and I 'm being held hostage by Seterus. Why am I paying for their " system upgrade ''? How is this fair?? I called back XX/XX/XXXX and told them I would be selling my house and I 'd like to make sure everything shows " OK '' in their system. I was told, " your bankruptcy was finalized and you will be fine ''. Please tell me my rights as a consumer. Can Seterus hold me hostage like this??

Complaint: I was in the middle of the loan modification with XXXX XXXX XXXX when I found out that I was transferred to Seterus. I found out when my attorney called to get the status of the modification. I never received a letter from XXXX notifying me of the servicing transfer. When I call Seterus they were extremely rude and I was told XXXX different things. The XXXX was that on XXXX I spoke XXXX and was told my trial modification payment was {$1000.00} when I asked how they came up with that amount I was told from my original loan application, because they had not received any documentation from XXXX. I explained that my financial situation is very different now, and I was instructed to complete a new financial package - which I have submitted. I was also told that after the trial payments the new modification payment would go back to at least the {$940.00}. XXXX. I also at this time requested a copy of the good bye letter from XXXX and as of today I still have not received. On XXXX I spoke with XXXX XXXX and explained that I could pay half the trial today and the other half by XXXX. XXXX took all of my financial information and then put me on hold. Then XXXX XXXX the manager ) came on the line and said he could n't take a partial payment. When I explained that the payment could be accepted XXXX XXXX XXXX he said he did n't care what XXXX rules where and that Seterus would not accept. He also informed me that the payment was due on XXXX not XXXX as stated in the in my paperwork and that they would not take my payment. Since I was not getting any where we ended the call. On XXXX I spoke with XXXX XXXX who told me that he could take my payment on XXXX for the full amount. XXXX also stated that after the modification was completed the payment would be similiar to the trial payment. Then he said that they waiting on my documents to continue the review, and I reminded him that they were already sent, and then he changed his story and said they had the documents. He also said that the best deal was {$1000.00} and they ca n't offer anything lower. How can they say that when I have n't been reviewed yet? I have lived in this home since XXXX and would like to retain it. I spoke with XXXX different representatives and each said something different. I need to understand what options are available and how I can retain the home.

Complaint: On or about XXXX XXXX, 2015 I made my monthly payment of {$2000.00} to my mortgage servicer Seterus XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MI XXXX Ph. # XXXX. On a separate check for {$11000.00} I attempted to make a principal prepayment, clearly writing PRINCIPAL PAYMENT on the check. On XXXX XXXX, Seterus applied this as XXXX regular payments with only {$6900.00} going to principal. I have called and spoken with Seterus on XXXX, XXXX and XXXX or XXXX other times and received promises to correct this but the situation remains unresolved at XXXX. This is malfeasance and possibly predatory lending practice.

Complaint: Seterus, Inc. has had my loan for the past two years. They have not XXXX treated me like I was a valued customer, just another number, a nuisance, gave me only the information that I could think to ask for at the time, and never let me speak to management when I was dissatisfied. They treat me like a XXXX citizen, payoff requests take two weeks, and I have been trying to refinance since XXXX of 2014. They did not disclose that I showed delinquency, which delayed my refinance, they made it impossible for me to get a simple process completed without jumping through hoop after hoop.
