Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: Since XX/XX/2018 XXXX XXXX Private Student Loans have been attempting to process payments on my loan. They have been threatening to default my loan. I have provided 3 separate debit cards. Each of these cards were declined upon attempting to charge a payment. The accounts have money on them and the bank states that XXXX XXXX is sending strange transactions in the amount of XXXX $ and that it is their problem processing payments. XXXX XXXX opened an investigation into this matter but is still threatening to default on my loan. This is causing me a great deal of stress and depression. I am under constant threat by XXXX XXXX for their own system issue. I am willing and able to make payments from the same card I use to buy groceries and withdraw money from every single day. The manager of my account at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX lied multiple times about events on my account. XXXX XXXX claimed that I have not provided my checking and account number when I have and claims that my bank said that I do not have money on my account. When I called my bank multiple times, even with a XXXX XXXX representative conferenced in, they said I had money.

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I co-signed for my daughter to get additional money for school. When I co-signed on loan I asked once she graduated could I be taken off the loan. I was informed my daughter had to make payments on the loan for a year after she graduated but I was also still responsible for the loan. On XX/XX/XXXX, my daughter applied to have me taken off the loan. It had been over a year since she is paying on the loan. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email regarding the outcome of the approval of removing me from the loan, and it was denied. I called XXXX XXXX today to find out why the application was denied and was informed because my daughter put her loan in forbearance and wish I was not aware of since I am the co-signer. XXXX XXXX customer representative tells me I had to wait until XXXX to reapply and be removed from the loan. XXXX XXXX loan has been paid on time since XXXX when the loan was approved, and my daughter has paid the loan on the till date. XXXX XXXX contract states as a co-signer I am responsible for the loan if my daughter can not pay it. However, they did not inform me the loan was going in forbearance which would give me the opportunity to see if it was going to hinder anything. However, XXXX XXXX put the loan in forbearance and want to hold me on the loan for another year. Also, when I look at the payments, the forbearance was paid o XX/XX/XXXX, and I applied to be removed from the loan on XX/XX/XXXX.

Problem with customer service
Complaint: XXXX XXXX opened 7 fraudulent accounts, where they list me as a cosigner. All the applications contain mostly false information about me ; e-mail, employer, income, assets, mortgage, citizenship status, electronic signature, etc.
The loans were approved by XXXX XXXX, based on applications that were completed and signed only by the borrower without my knowledge, permission or authorization.
Following a previous complaint, XXXX XXXX investigated the fraud, and based on evidence I provided, they accepted my allegations of identity theft. My name was removed from 6 out of 7 fraudulent accounts.
XXXX XXXX did not remove my name from account XXXX, because, they claim it was obtained with my knowledge, permission and authorization.
This is inaccurate, it was obtained without my knowledge, authorization, permission or signature.
According to page 1, Section C on the application, my knowledge and my signature are required for this application to be approved by XXXX XXXX. The borrower completed this application, same as the others, as XXXX XXXX knows, with false information about me and her signature, without my knowledge or signature.
XXXX XXXX knows the borrower filled and signed as the borrower and as the cosigner.
Since the loan was approved based on fraudulent misrepresentation. I do not understand why XXXX XXXX did not remove me from this account like the others.
I want to be removed from this account, and remove it from my credit file.

Don't agree with the fees charged
Complaint: XXXX XXXX is my loan provider. I have XXXX at 11.875 % rate. I have asked XXXX XXXX to provided me with a full amortization schedule to show how much i would pay every month in interest and principle for the life of my loans. They refuse to do that and refuse to give me the calculation they are using to determine my monthly payments. So for all i know they are charging me more than they should be while going unchecked. This company should not have the ability to charge such a high rate on government funds. They are my smallest loan amount but largest payment. I am barely keeping my head above water with all my debt and i can not do anything else to help my situation. Please help me.

Denied loan
Complaint: I was approaching my freshman year of college when I needed to apply for a loan because I did not get enough money from Financial Aid to cover how much my schooling was. My school is approximately {$30000.00} a year. In my parents taxes, it says that they make enough to cover what they did not provide from FAFSA. Unfortunately, my parents do not help pay for my schooling, nor do they have the best credit.
So on XX/XX/XXXX, my step mother used my dads information to be a cosigner on a loan from XXXX XXXX for {$21000.00}. I did not get approved.
On XX/XX/XXXX, they tried to apply for another loan but using my grandma as a cosigner this time for the same amount, {$21000.00}. This did not get approved either.
On XX/XX/XXXX, my parents tried again. This time with my grandma in laws information for the same amount, {$21000.00}. This did not get approved.
On XX/XX/XXXX, my parents tried one last time. This time my step mother tried to use her credit information to see if she would get approved for the {$21000.00}. This did not get approved.
As all of this was going on, I had just turned XXXX and did not know how credit worked. So therefore, i was not aware that trying to get a loan would continuously hurt my credit. I was shocked that my parents never made that aware to me either.
We finally settled for the first loan we applied for that had an interest rate of 12 %!!
Now, I am going to be a sophomore in college without another loan being approved. I do not know if it is because of these hard inquiries or if it is because of my parents bad credit. I would like to continue my education so I am sure it would help me a lot if I could get these inquiries removed.
Thank you so much.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I have three private loans with XXXX XXXX totaling to about 84 thousand dollars. The original interest rate were about 8-9 % but recent all of my loans have been bumped up to 12 %. That high of a interest rate is criminal. Because of this I have had to drop out of college and work to pay the loan off so because the interest alone would accumulate to an amount that would be un-payable in the future. My dad took a loan out on his credit card of the amount of {$28000.00} which he had the credit card company ( XXXX ) pay directly to XXXX XXXX. XXXX sent the amount on XX/XX/2018, however XXXX XXXX insists they haven't received it yet. Now we are collecting interest on two loans and XXXX XXXX does not care about helping us. Please help me and my dad, we are desperate.

Problem with personal statement of dispute
Complaint: After I graduated college in XX/XX/2014, I had problems finding employment for a year. Despite being unemployed I had to pay XXXX XXXX in order to put the loan on deferment. I had to pay {$150.00} dollars every three months for a year. After my deferment period ended, I informed XXXX XXXX I could not afford the {$500.00} dollars monthly payments. The company refused to work with me and reported late payments on my credit report. XXXX XXXX late payments is effecting my life in a negative way. Despite me having a great credit score, I can not apply for mortgage or new lines of credit. In the past I have submitted dispute letters to remove the late payments, but the company refuses to do it. I really tried my best to work with the company and because of their unfair practices I am suffering emotional. I feel the company has unfair practices, other student loan companies does not require individuals to pay for deferment and once you run out ; you must pay the amount each month. Many former college students are going through the same abuse and harassment from XXXX XXXX. I feel the government should regulate XXXX XXXX unfair practices because they are damaging many consumer lives.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I called Sallie Mae to request my account go into forbearance because my parents had gotten divorced and i had to move to Florida to support my mom, which made me financially unable to pay the loan that month. The representative on the phone accepted my request for forbearance and told me that I would not have to pay anything for the month of XX/XX/XXXX and my regular payments would start back up in XX/XX/XXXX. I said that was more than fair and I even asked him to repeat it because this is the second time now someone there has said I would be going into forbearance for the mont. This is also the second tie they lied to me. Come to find out today, XX/XX/XXXX, I get a call from them saying we I'm 60 days past due, and I'm not in forbearance because they payment did not go through. Firstly I knew nothing about a payment, and second they should not wait til I'm 60 days overdue to tell me that they made a mistake on my account.

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: I Hello, I have exhausted all of my forbearance/loan deferment options. After speaking with the XXXX XXXX loan repayment department they gave me a monthly amount that I could not afford. They will not budge with creating a lower payment even after my monthly expenses were shared with them.
I only get paid once a month and paying this amount will leave me nothing to survive off of.

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: XXXX XXXX has offered me no reasonable options to make payments. I have hundreds in other bills to pay each month, I work part-time and I can't even live on my own or support myself because XXXX XXXX is a black cloud over my life.
My grandmother and I spent over an hour on the phone with a " customer service '' employee, a female, who realized that we both had a deficit when it came to our monthly income and bills each month after a financial examination. That being a reality, I still was not offered a reasonable option to begin payments. I was told that I " have the money '' .. even though I was in a deficit.
It is absolutely crazy how this company would rather drive people to insanity and depression instead of doing all they can to make payments affordable. To really ask if a co-signer, almost XXXX years old, would be " seeking full time work '' in order to help me pay the ridiculous amount is crazy.
I'm not sure what can be done, but the truth about XXXX XXXX and the type of greedy business they run needs to be brought to light, and the lawsuits currently against there shed light on how unreasonable this company is.

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: I graduated but have been unable to get any job but a part time job with XXXX XXXX.
I have 4 loans with Sallie Mae and I am paying $ XXXXmonth on 1 and the rest are in default because they require me to pay way more than I make and my Mom can't afford an additional $ XXXXmonth payment. But they make calls to everyone even people that aren't relatives. I don't even know the people 's number they are robo calling. I was getting 8-10 calls a day as well as my Mom. Then I heard from a cousin I haven't seen in 10 years that they called him about me.

Need information about your loan balance or loan terms
Complaint: My father filed for bankruptcy last year. When this happened access to my student loan account was taken away because he was a cosigner on the account. When I submitted a cosigner release for it took them several weeks to get back to me with a decline. They told me it was declined because it was in bankruptcy but I am not the one in a bankruptcy, my father is. The only way to make payments now is to call in every month and I don't even know how much I owe. They also continue to accrue interest on my loans.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: A student loan was obtained from XXXX XXXX to fund my XXXX college education. The original loan amount was for {$28000.00}. We have been making larger payments to reduce the principal amount and pay the loan off as quickly as possible. Each time a payment is made and we call the XXXX number the information received is not accurate. First we were told that if the payment was more than the interest amount due any additional amount would be put toward the principal amount. We noticed that this was not happening and called back and they told us the account needs to be set up on auto payment to have the additional amount reflect in the principal. I called on XX/XX/XXXX to inquiry why the balance is not going down and XXXX stated that the extra amount is paid forward to the interest for next month. Why.the purpose of making additional payment amount is to reduce the loan. If you put the extra amount toward the next months interest, you will never pay the loan off.
Regardless of the above scenarios different things have happened with the payments. It is truly very inconsistent. For example ; On XX/XX/XXXX the payment amount that was due is {$270.00} which was paid. An additional payment was made for {$2000.00} the next business day. {$150.00} was held for interest and {$1800.00} was applied to the principal. ( The account was not on auto payment ) On XX/XX/XXXX a payment for {$300.00} was made. The accrued interest was {$160.00} ; the difference of {$130.00} was added to the principal. ( The account was not on auto payment ) On XX/XX/XXXX the accrued interest was {$220.00}. A payment of {$300.00} was made and nothing was applied to the principal balance.
On XX/XX/XXXX the accrued interest was paid and the remaining amount went to the principal amount.
My goal is to pay back my student loan but the inaccurate and inconsistent way that the loan is handled does not make sense mathematically nor is their reason for how the payments are applied. I have called XXXX XXXX customer service area about every other month to discuss the discrepancies in the account. The phone representatives truly do not understand the complexity of the account and the manager NEVER takes the call. The associate on the phone is asking questions and then relaying the message. You will never get an accurate answer. It is really disappointing that a company can practice this type of behavior which ultimately affects the lives of people. Shame on you..
