Complaint: I am on XXXX XXXX, my mother 's Santander Checking account to help her manage her finances. I opened my mail Thursday and read a letter dated XXXX from XXXX , her utility company, that said her bank account was frozen and payment had been returned.
I went online and saw beginning XXXX XXXX that checks I've arranged to have automatic payment had a note " Forced check payment ''.
I called the bank and was told that a man had called in XX/XX/XXXX asking questions about my mother 's account, so they froze the account. I appreciate the fraud department taking action to protect my mother 's finances.
My concern is we were not notified that the account was frozen. No one called my mother or sent a letter explaining this. The person I spoke with in the fraud department said the bank does not inform the customer. It is the customer 's responsibility to call the bank.
I asked her to check this policy since it does not make sense to me that someone would call their bank if they do not even know their account has been frozen or there was a fraud alert. I pointed out that credit card companies always inform you - why wouldn't the bank?
Now I'm told I need to bring my XXXX year-old mother to the bank to open a new account and I need to contact at least 10 different providers that I have arranged to be on automatic payment to transfer to this new account.
My frustration is that we were not notified of the fraud alert and that the account was frozen.
I hope you can encourage the bank to contact customers whose accounts have been jeopardized by mail.
Thank you for your support, XXXX XXXX on behalf of XXXX XXXX

Account information incorrect
Complaint: I have made a request in the prior complaint for Santander Bank to stop sending me bills and other communications about this account as well as having the nerve to send me promotional materials for a new account. The loan in question was discharged in bankruptcy in XXXX and Santander provided information to the credit bureaus on this account being delinquent up to XX/XX/XXXX. I have even received a letter from their attorney affirming the bankruptcy discharge. Although I sent copies of the pages on my credit report in question ( as per their initial request ) they now want me to send them a full copy of each of my credit reports as proof of an administrative error Santander clearly should be able to resolve on their end without me sending these documents.
As of this date Santander is STILL sending me letters and have even gone as far as sending me a communication suggesting that I am due a " refund '' for an inspection done on the property in XX/XX/XXXX four years after the property was discharged in bankruptcy and likely at least a year after it was purchased from the bank by a new buyer. I view this " refund '' as a tactic to rope me back in to being indebted to Santander once they realize that the refund was an error. I have already made it known to Santander that I am not interested in receiving any money from them unless it is ordered by a judge.
