Frequent or repeated calls
Complaint: Creditor masked -- misrepresented -- its phone number by using my home phone number and XXXX disconnected phone numbers formerly associated with me to dial my cell phone number. I would not have called my cell from my home phone and could not have done so since I was at the VA medical center when the call came in. There were no other people in my home who could have made the call, and my home phone 's " redial '' log does not show the call to my cell.

Disclosure verification of debt

Debt collection: Other (i.e. phone, health club, etc.)

Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: Received Collection notice in mail for Creditor : XXXX, XX/XX/2016. We cancelled services with them XX/XX/2016 and had the final bill showing full payment received. No bills or other communications about an amount owed were received for 9 months, until we received this collections letter. Upon receiving this letter we contacted XXXX to determine what this {$43.00} charge was for, and after 2 hrs and 12 mins ( which amounted to 4 calls since on one of them the line somehow " disconnected '' instead of going to a supervisor, to them ), including them telling us to call XXXX as they said this was a charge XXXX sent them and then XXXX should have then billed for it. We have conflicting information from the XXXX XXXX reps we were routed to in four calls as to what the charge was or why a bill was never sent or claiming a bill was sent even though we have n't changed addresses. XXXX today finally said they could produce a final bill, but it has to be mailed, which will take " up to 30 days '' they claim, and it is impossible for them to send an email or other electronic bill so that we can verify the charge is valid and make a payment. As they know, we were out of the country for 3 weeks, so we had 1 week since receiving this notice to reply to the 30 day request from their 3rd party collector. Funny how 1 day before our response is due they are able to mail a bill that will take up to 30 days for us to receive. we have never had anything in collections and so we went ahead and paid the amount, because we would never want anything against our credit, but seeing as the creditor never provided any proof of the charges it makes us think big company taking advantage of the consumer since they do n't care about our credit. As a financial services auditor that knows processes and collections, I believe that XXXX has a process breakdown in which charges that happen for a consumer through their partner XXXX XXXX sending out their final bill do not make it to a billing cycle, so as a result, those charges sit there, and then when they pull the data for unpaid amounts, the amounts show in that data that is then sent to their 3rd party collectors. Not a single rep could find in our account any of the normal steps one would expect from your Cable provider 1 ) when or how the additional final bill was sent, 2 ) when this supposed bill was unpaid after 30 days, why there would n't have been any follow-up to us, as the consumer, such as a call, or another notice ( mail or email ). I called the 3rd party collection agency that sent the collection letter to let them know about this struggle to determine what the amount was for, and they said they have had a lot of similar issues with XXXX collections.

Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Medical

Debt is not mine
Complaint: My complaint and present-day issue involves Central Credit Services, a debt collection agency at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, Missouri. Zip code : XXXX. The debt collection agency, Central Credit Services, references their account # XXXX. The allegation of a delinquent debt by Central Credit Services is faulty. Their agency violates sections of FDCPA, and one of those sections includes their requirement to provide " Proper Verification of a Debt '' which is annotated within FDCPA 1692g. Central Credit Services mailed a debt-collection notice to me on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, alleging a {$1600.00} debt as due, identifying the original creditor of the alleged debt as XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX is based in XXXX, Wisconsin. Their notice is in error. I do not owe the debt. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I sent a dispute letter to Central Credit Services, utilizing Priority - Return Receipt postal mail. Central Credit received my dispute letter on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I initiated a XXXX XXXX XXXX complaint against XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, disputing any debt that is allegedly due by me to XXXX XXXX, which is referenced in the Central Credit Services billing notice. The XXXX XXXX references my complaint with ID # XXXX, dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX. XXXX XXXX provided a written answer to my complaint on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. XXXX 's answer was directed both to me and the XXXX XXXX. XXXX 's answer to me is written, in part : " .... XXXX XXXX will write off the balance and remove the account from collections. '' Further, XXXX 's written response to me added : " .... We will have the collections agency send a letter to the patient ( meaning, me ) confirming the account ( s ) are CLOSED and DELETED from the ( patient 's ) CREDIT REPORT. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I sent a XXXX dispute letter to Central Credit Services, and referenced XXXX XXXX 's answer to my complaint and assertion that no debt is due to XXXX XXXX. My XXXX correspondence to XXXX XXXX was sent by Priority Certified - Receipt postal mail. XXXX XXXX received my XXXX correspondence on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. This entire issue originated with a Debt Buyer, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. The original ( alleged ) debt buyer, XXXX, had sold XXXX alleged debts of {$810.00} each to a debt collection agency known as XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. Both of those alleged debts, referencing XXXX XXXX, were disputed by me with XXXX in timely correspondence dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX. While XXXX XXXX is vague about how these alleged Medical debts have ever surfaced, it appears that either XXXX XXXX or an affiliate Hospital erred in sending their own billings to the Veterans ' Administration -- which had later paid Medical Billings in my behalf. In any event, there is NOT DEBT DUE TO XXXX XXXX. Indeed, XXXX XXXX has now confirmed it, ( finally ), and provided written correspondence to me and the XXXX XXXX Central Credit Services violates law if continuing to collect this alleged debt. It is necessary that Central Credit Services provide correspondence to me, indicating their acknowledgement that this matter is closed with no debt due to the ( alleged ) original creditor -- XXXX XXXX.

Right to dispute notice not received
Complaint: I answered a phone call on my cell phone from XXXX woman asked for XXXX XXXX, as soon as i said this is her she started telling me I owed money for a XXXX bill with absolutely NO verification done! she did not verify an address, date of birth, social security number anything, when i told her at the time of the debt I had insurance and that I have told them that before as well as i have told them until they resolve that issue not to contact me, I also pointed out she was calling my cell phone, her words to me were " well youre the one in collections '' this is abusive. I then called back and asked to speak with a supervisor who again didnt even verify me, and said if i verified my name that is enough, I advised her that is not enough verification and asked her if that is their policy she said yes all they need is a name, i told her what the representative had said and how it was abusive and belittling she then told me she could not speak to me because she had not verified me at this point we were XXXX minutes into the conversation, so i asked her for their address for a complaint she said the company name is Central Credit Services XXXX , XXXX MO XXXX
