Complaint: After I filed a complaint against them on this website, they put on my credit report that the account is now closed, which in turn lowered my credit score by XXXX points. They did not really close my account. I have made a payment to them after this account was supposedly closed and they said nothing about it. Also, if you look on the report, they closed it under 'One Main FI ' and reopened it under 'One Main '. It is the same company. They are just doing this as a retaliation for me filing a complaint with this bureau in regards to their harassing me. My current case number for the harassment is # XXXX

Complaint: OneMain Financial refuses to reclaim collateral that was discharged in my Chapter XXXX bankruptcy or release the lien on the collateral. I have contacted them several times and they continue to refuse reclamation or release of the lien. When informing them I would be returning the collateral at my own expense to their branch office as suggested by my Attorney they threatened I would be responsible for any fees they incur to move, store, dispose of the vehicle. I am not responsible for this legally discharged debt. OneMain is being vindictive by not reclaiming the collateral or releasing the lien so I can dispose of the collateral.

Complaint: I was approved for a personal loan for {$12000.00} with One Main Financial. I asked about a receiving a lesser amount and reduction of the term of the loan from 48 to 24 months. I was supposed used my car title as collateral which was fine. The loan officers for the local branches provided unsubstantiated information in regards to the exact amount they wanted me to agree to and pay debtors on my behalf. I questioned why they chose which debtors are paid without looking at my entire financial portfolio. Why ca n't I choose which debts to pay that will reduce my overall monthly bills? I am responsible for this loan and this will not help my financial situation, especially at 22 % interest and title to my car. I do n't believe the what the two loan officers said was true. When I called the main corporate office I was told the loan application and amount is at the discretion of the local branch who processes it. I declined their terms but I feel the advertising is very misleading to consumers and the corporation seem to employed untruthful, misinformed workers to represent them.

Complaint: From XX/XX/XXXX through the present time OneMain Financial has continued illegal and abusive attempts to collect debts that they are not legally entitled to collect/receive because of the fact that they have committed common frauds and/or have no current valid agreement of accounts stated to establish a verified debt which entitles them to collect/receive on this alleged liability. Furthermore, this company is not in compliance with the fair credit reporting responsibilities that state and federal laws mandate that they must do when managing consumer accounts. At this time all XXXX Credit Bureaus have inconsistent information that is as a result of OneMain Financials improper actions that it seeks to deliberately obfuscate from the eyes of regulators yet ironically seeks to enforce its own nefarious agendas. OneMain Financial continues to engage in harrasment via email, phone calls and letters denoting legal consequences as though sent by a lawyer/law firm despite knowing that this is illegal and improper. The company has recently reorganized reincorporated itself. New account numbers and transfer of the alleged debt has occurred as of XX/XX/XXXX. This email will serve as a full dispute denial of the entire amount alleged to be owed to OneMain Financial. No new contract has been signed on this account stated to verify the transfer of loan servicing entity and no verification has been received to demonstrate that OneMain Financial or their reincorporated entity is entitled to anything from me. This pertains to all prior information within their possession since a proper chain of custody of accounts stated has not been received by me. Furthermore, the credit bureaus are and have been decieved by OneMain Financial for several years as to the appropriate details pertaining to this alleged liability. Finally, this email is not an acknowledgement of the alleged debt in any way as granted by Federal State and local law.

Complaint: I took out this loan 15 mos ago. At first it seemed like a good deal at the time. Then I found out after I had already signed to the terms that they had duplicated my student loans more than once when they were calculating my DTI. My loan was consolidated as XXXX loan at the time and it was in deferment so when they duplicated it they added it several times as a XXXX. I 'm not sur if this was to drive up the interest rate or what. Also they reported mostly interest to the front of the loan, so paying it off was going to take longer than it would a regular loan. Lastly I paid off the loan on the XXXX of XXXX. I was told that they were going to report it paid to the credit bureau on the first and mail me back my original contact, however they have not and I have already spent money on a credit report with my mortgage company, just to have it show inaccurate information.

Complaint: I took out a personal loan with a company called Springleaf Financial and I was making the payments on time until I ran into some financial trouble. I tried to work with company to make payment arrangements but that would not help me and then took unauthorized payments out of my bank account with out my consent. Now the company has changed over to One Main Financial and I am back to making payments, I am constantly be called harassed daily on my personal phone and on my job my about making payment arraignments, getting my checking account information, and when is my next pay period. They even go as far as telling me to go barrow the money from someone else so that I can pay them.

Complaint: I co signed on a loan that was a refinance of an existing loan of mine. The (now retired) employee that swore to me that this was a necessary thing to do to keep the loan from going into default lured me into a deceptive loan. I have dealt with this company in the past on small loans but they assured me that taking out t his larger loan to consolidate bills was a necessity. These people make you think you are a friend and they are looking out for your best interests. They said I needed to put this loan in my friends name (who had debts being paid off from the loan also) because "the friend" had a job and if he lost his job the loan insurance would make the payments. The terms and conditions they gave us were NOT what we had been promised. After having us sign the forms I realized interest rates were changed and was told it was a binding contract and nothing I could do. The terms were for 5 years near the end of the 4th year financial problems were incurred and they said they would modify the loan. No papers were offered, no terms given they just said it would lower the payment. We were left to assume the terms were the same. What I later found out (from logging into my information online, which I was not told was possible) I saw the loan was extended for 12 more years. The friend got into some legal trouble last year and because of that had to move. I called the local office and explained to them the situation and asked if they could give me any help. The manager told me that he couldnt do anything and that I needed to pay or go to court. I have paid this loan for over 9 years approximately and for the amount borrowed I have paid the original amount borrowed and much more. They take out all interest first and nothing goes toward principal. 7500 (approx) was borrowed and by the end of the estimated 11 more years they tacked on the loan close to 50k will be paid! That is more than my home cost!!! They now cant find the primary lender and are harassing me non stop. I tried to work with them in the beginning and they refused. I spent 20 years being XXXX raising a son alone and repaired my credit only for these blood suckers to ruin me over their deceptive practices. I have no issue paying for something I borrowed but this is not only robbery but it is unethical. It seems nobody is out there monitoring these companies. This is why they split XXXX to take the mortgage and OneMain to personal loans. Easier to steal more money from lenders who try but cant get conventional bank loans. Our protection is nowhere to be found from our government who should be monitoring these companies. I can see why they can't keep employees there long. Anyone with any conscience would not work for a company like this.

Complaint: I have tried to work with the lender directly in terms of paying off my loan at the correct remaining balance for a few months. Since then, my lender is attempting to delay communication in order to continue charging an outrageous amount of interest at the rate - 33.498 %, and recently put me on an interest-only bearing term which I was unaware of. The lender has charged me unreasonably high penalties for failure to keep up with repayments and took advantage of the fact I was unemployed for a year. The lender has told me they will not be able to work with me until my account goes to collection because I do n't have an attorney.

Complaint: They called me at work. Went thru the XXXX Department to get hold of me. I told them that I had asked them to not call me or my husband at our place of work as it could jeopardize our jobs. They continued to try to work something out with me thru threatening remarks. I gave them the phone number of the debt company we are working with to help us. I told them that I could not discuss this with them, that they were to contact this company and they continued to harass me. I finally hung up on them.

Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX a fraudulent application for a loan was made with my personal information online. One main financial contacted me by phone to ask me to come into their office to fill our paperwork to complete the process. I informed them that I did not apply for a loan with them in XX/XX/XXXX. The person I spoke with said they would stop the loan process. They also informed me that I needed to send them a letter so they could delete the fraudulent inquiry from my credit report. I sent the letter to them in XX/XX/XXXX. They sent a letter back basically saying because it was an online application that they would not delete the inquiry. That makes no sense. I told them it was not me at the time this happened. My credit is suffering because of something I had nothing to do with. I am attaching my initial letter to them - their response letter - and a notice from XXXX where I alerted them that this was not me applying for the loan online.

Complaint: on XXXX XXXX, 2013 I received several phone calls from Onemain Financial about a payment on my account stating that my account was past due. and and the lady told me i better bring my XXXX XXXX to the office and make payment, i went to the office and told her she will treat me with respect and she called the police on me. so i sent a cease and desist letter to Onemain Financial to stop harrassing phone calls and to comunicate with me through the USPS. and since that day Onemain Financial has refused to accept my payments and caused me to breach the contract for a loan that is secured with my vehicle title. and they have listed a different account number regarding this loan with with the credit reporting agencies.
