Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: I have private student loans with Navient which I have been struggling to pay because of their request for a high monthly payment and have also struggled to secure a secure salaried job. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX I was a XXXX XXXX XXXX and was not able to continue making the monthly payment amounts they were requesting. I made payments while in service as a United States XXXX XXXX XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX I was sent a summons by Navient 's debt collector agency called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, which is presented as a law firm. I went to court on XX/XX/XXXX and agreed to a repayment plan of {$45.00} a month until XX/XX/XXXX. My concern is the total amount of loans I have with Navient will be placed with the collection agency XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX and I would like to have a feasible repayment plan for the total amount of student loans I have with Navient.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I was out of a job for 4 months and I couldn't afford to pay my student loans, I called Navient and they told me I don't have any forbearance on my private loans, so I had no choice to let the loans go 90 days past due. When I found a job in XXXX, and caught up on my other bills, I decided to call Navient to get my loans back current. The amount they wanted me to pay was something I couldn't afford, so they told me I can qualify for a rate reduction program, I gave them the information they asked for to see what my reduced monthly payments would be. After giving them this information and a payment, I was told that the account will become current after 3 months of successful payments, and the past due would be added to the loan. I agreed. While in this 3 month trial, Navient is sending out letters to my co-signers and references stating that if they don't make the past due payment, they will report the account as delinquent to the credit bureau which will affect their credit. How is this possible if I'm making payments? Why are you sending letters to them and not me? Is this a tacit to get more money to Navient? Why is Navient preying on my co-signers after setting up an arrangement with me?

Complaint: The original debt was charged off to my credit report was in the amount of {$4000.00} around 4 years ago. Since that time I've continued to received emails stating they're willing to settle the debt at a lower amount ( see email below ). I reached out to the company multiple times on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX to inquire about the settlement offer. I was told by multiple representatives that although the account was charged off years ago the company has continued to charged the account interest and now I states I owe {$11000.00} which they placed on my credit profile recently and that they're settlement offer would be {$4700.00} which was the original loan amount, or I can pay {$1100.00} down and start back making monthly payments on a debt that was charged off. This seems to be inconsistent with the law and or illegal/unfair interest that has accumulated after being charged off. I would like to make a settlement on what was charged off on my credit of the {$4000.00} with the understanding that I am making an attempt to correct mistakes I made but not to unfair collecting practices and illegal interest being added. Complaint: My loan goes back to SM in XXXX taken out I believe for XXXX College ( this college is closed now ). I have been making payments since this date. I went on the site and the college they are listing is not my college on the load??? XXXX XXXX College in XXXX. I spoke with an XXXX XXXX who is now researching this. I informed him I am not paying on this loan until I get clarification. He told me I don't qualify for stopping payments and/or forbearance??? I don't trust them now but if I don't pay I'm afraid my credit will be affected!! If the college closes I thought the loan could be dismissed but he also told me it depends on the circumstances. Please help me if you can. I know there have been several issues with Navient ( mine is a private loan ).

Complaint: I have been making payments thru the Navient website and the money comes out of my bank account but it does not show on my Navient account. Navient sends me emails saying thank you for your payment and your payment has been received but again the money is never posted on my account. In order to talk to a live person you have to sit on hold for 30min.

Complaint: This company Navient sets unrealistic payments. They want me to pay nearly 400.00 a month and the only other option they will give me is to be put on deferment or forbearance. It is a scam. They do this to rack up over 90.00 a month in interest on my account. I offered to work with them to give them a payment I can afford so that I am making some kind of payment, but they refuse. They are so eager to put me on a deferment to accrue the interest. Its also worth noting that they bought out my original student loan. I also read online about a forgiveness for those who went to XXXX XXXX because of their shady practices and I couldnt get anyone to even talk to me about it. XXXX XXXX cancelled my program and I was not able to get a education but Im left with the bill. And now I cant even pay the bill because Navient cares only about racking up interest at 90+ dollars a month.

Complaint: As part of my student loan record Navient is listing me as delinquent from XXXX thru XXXX of XXXX. Navient isreporting 90, 120, 150, and 180day delinquencies to the credit bureaus as past due during this period. Moreover, they allege I owe late fees totaling XXXX XXXX from these delinquencies. The former isnt possible as there were forbearances in place from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX ( Sallie Mae ) and from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX ( Navient ) respectively. Therefore the alleged associated late fees are a fabrication. Relevant History On or about XX/XX/XXXX Sallie Mae announced their reorganization and introduced Navient. Knowing I had a forbearance in place that needed to be renewed, I made numerous attempts to contact and register with Navient with no success. There were NO communications from Navient regarding the status of my forbearance, just standardized emails regardless of my many attempts to contact them. In XXXX of XXXX I sent an email to Sallie Mae requesting help, but didnt receive a response. In desperation, I requested help from the Student Assistance Corp, received a response in XXXX of XXXX but unsure I was just walking into another problematic student loan service provider continued to pursue Navient options. Navient finally responded to an email that I sent in XXXX of XXXX requesting forms for a deferment, a forbearance renewal, or to apply for an IDR plan. In their response they do mention an IDR option, but their focus is on deferments and forbearances. And their IDR information misrepresents the option and its requirements indicating ; If you meet the federal definition for partial financial hardship, you may qualify for a reduction in your monthly payment under this plan... There is no mention that under an IDR plan the payment could be zero, which is what I needed at the time. Moreover, there is no mention that the IDR option could lead to loan forgiveness. Renewing the forbearance option was pursued, and in XXXX of XXXX Navient sent their Notice of Forbearance Approval. The Forbearance ran from XXXX of XXXX to XXXX of XXXX consecutively from the earlier forbearance. Therefore there couldnt be delinquent payment ( s ) from XXXX to XXXX of XXXX as Navient is reporting to the credit bureaus. This would have been covered by the forbearance or administrative forbearance as indicated in their XX/XX/XXXX email. It was through contacting StudentLoans.gov that I learned the real value of an IDR plan. The first IDR plan was applied for, approved, and implemented in XXXX of XXXX. Two years were lost when I could have been on an IDR plan due to Navients negligence and misleading communications. In support of my complaint I can send copies of emails to/from the parties confirming my above statements are true. P.S. On XXXX a follow up complaint was registered with Navient via email regarding the alleged delinquencies. Typical of Navient ; to date I havent even received an acknowledgement.

Keep getting calls about your loan
Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I received a phone call from " XXXX '' with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at phone number ( XXXX ) XXXX claiming to have the ability to consolidate my federal student loan, forgive all interest on the loan ( and only pay on the principal amount ), and have payments as low as {$39.00} a month based on income. Questions were asked including : " is this X person I'm speaking with? '' " Can you confirm that your email address is X? '' and " Can you confirm that your birthdate is X? '' I did not confirm nor deny any of these questions and used that language. This " XXXX '' person was very pushy and told me he can only help me if I help him by answering his questions. XXXX was then told that I would not be answering questions for information he already ( supposedly ) had access to from the federal government. He then apologized for taking up my time and hung up.

Complaint: Predatory Student Lending, Request Student loan Discharge and Forgiveness. Request to have student loan discharged or Forgiveness. I believe the XXXX XXXX XXXX practiced Predatory Student Lending. I sent this information XXXX ( see attached letter ) to the Department of Justice in an attempt to get assistance with raising awareness of this schools inhumane practice of getting students to sing up for their classes and then leaving them in student loan debt due to sub par Classes and training. It has been brought to our attention that this school is no longer open. In fact the schools have all but closed due to its misrepresentation to offer a degree and paying job to match its high tuition. There are a few left, but the mail ones from XXXX, XXXX and XXXX have closed. The only number to call and speak to anyone and they dont offer any options to gather transcripts is other than email. There is no one to speak at XXXX XXXX about this situation. Complaint: I attended the vocational school from XXXX - XXXX. I was told that it was an accredited school so I took out a loan to cover the tuition. I believe the estimated cost of the school at the time was {$30000.00}. There were 8 semesters over the course of 2 years. I've only received one refund over the course of two years and it was only because I went down the registrar 's office to inquire. I received my only refund in my 8th semester. I graduated shortly afterward when I had heard the FBI had closed the school down for illegal activity. Some time had passed and I received a letter in the mail regarding a class action lawsuit. Unfortunately, by the time I discovered the letter I had missed the window to participate in the lawsuit. Not mention, when I tried to pursue another degree, I found out my degree from XXXX XXXX XXXX was not accepted by any college or university I applied to. I had to start completely over meanwhile, years of interest accrued for an education I feel has caused a questionable amount of debt

Complaint: On Monday XX/XX/2019. Navient went as far as to contact a friend of mine and ask where I was and if they would deliver a message to me. This was embarrassing and caused much confusion. They are not to call anyone that they do not have my permission. They also went as far as calling my neighbor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked them to stop over and over. They continue to harass me and hope they will not contact anymore acquaintances.

In XXXX I had to file a chapter XXXX which was to wipe out XXXX of student loan debt with payments however once that discharged I still owed the full amount plus interest to sallie Mae. This became navient and I filed for forgiveness in XXXX but was denied. Now I still owe XXXX after thirty years of payments. What gives? Ive bought and paid a dozen cars off in this same amount of time but cant get this debt to drop with faithful payments

Complaint: My wife and I consolidated our private and public student loans back in 2005. The original servicer was Sallie Mae. The servicer is now Navient. Navient informed us this spousal consolidation loan can not be refinanced nor separated by borrower, for purposes of refinancing with another servicer. This " spousal consolidation loan '' is no longer offered ( I wonder why ) nor eligible for any type of refinancing relief. Yet, as a XXXX military vet, I am told a guarantor will be the one to separate the loans for purposes of determining what loans belong to me, and therefore forgiven. Why can't these loans be separated now? We are both in the XXXX XXXX industry and eligible for PSLF. But can not go that route because of the barriers caused by spousal consolidation loans.

Complaint: I got my recent credit report and I noticed navient accounts that I did not recognize that had payment history and payments that had no data. I have tried to fix this problem with XXXX over three times but they still report inaccurate information on my credit report. They are violating the fair credit reporting act. XXXX and XXXX have already removed these navient accounts from my credit report because they are reporting inaccurate information reporting payments that I never made and having no data for certain months. I disputed these inaccuracies in XX/XX/XXXX and got my results back on XX/XX/XXXX the results were updated and incorrect payment history still remained on my credit report. I disputed again and the results came back updated and no data still remains on the accounts. I have provided proof of the results. I have gave XXXX over 3 months to correct this error they never once provided me with the documents like I asked I asked them to provide me the proof from the company that I made these payments and the bank that was used to make these payments I never recieved any of these documents.i have spoke with a credit repair lawyer if you the CFPB can not assist me in this I will be forced to file a complaint with the FTC against XXXX and than persue litigation against XXXX for reporting these inaccuracies on my credit report.
