Complaint: Infiniti / Nissan finance offers a lease transfer. A fee of {$250.00} is paid to transfer the lease and ensure the credit worthiness of the new leasee. However, if the lease is transferred, Nissan / Infiniti will still report the outstanding lease amount to credit bureaus in the name of the original leasee. This does not appear to align with Regulation M and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Complaint: I had gotten a XXXX Nissan Altima Coupe for my daughter and on or around XXXX XXXX, XXXX I got a flyer in the mail from Nissan for an option to trade in my lease for another lease without penalty or any money owed. I called Nissan Motor Corp. and was informed that it was indeed correct as long as my account was up to date. I had not even considered another lease until this time as nothing was wrong with the car. I then called XXXX XXXX Nissan in XXXX, MS., because they are the dealership I used to buy and lease my Nissans. They said that I could get another lease and they instantly started trying to locate the vehicle my daughter wanted, another XXXX XXXX, simply a different color. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I went to XXXX XXXX Nissan to turn in the XXXX Altima Coupe for the XXXX Altima Coupe and was told that I owed absolutely nothing by the Finance/Sales Manager XXXX. Also, the salesperson, XXXX XXXX, assured me twice that I owed nothing. I left with the brand NEW lease car and they kept the XXXX. I started receiving phone calls from XXXX XXXX XXXX about a month later stating that I was behind on the XXXX lease payments. I told them that car had been turned in and I had a new lease. They then informed me that the XXXX had not been paid off by the XXXX XXXX Nissan dealership and that I was still responsible for it too. I called the XXXX XXXX dealership and was told that there had been some confusion between them and Nissan Motor Corp., because they had paid the car off. I continued to get calls from Nissan Motor Corp. and bills in the mail. I kept calling XXXX XXXX Nissan and was told it had been paid off. In XXXX I received a call from a collector named XXXX, at Nissan Motor. I told her what had happened so she said she would call XXXX XXXX XXXX and speak to the Finance/Sales Manager, XXXX. Approximately 10 minutes later she called me back to say that XXXX had just then paid the car off. After thinking this was the end of this confusion, I called the owner of XXXX XXXX Nissan, XXXX XXXX himself, and explained to him what had happened. I also told him that his loan officer had run my credit through XXXX banks when he was n't supposed to even be running it. The lease was only going to be with Nissan/XXXX XXXX so there was no need to run my credit through any banks. He never asked my permission for that. XXXX, apologized and said he would find out what had happened. In XXXX, I received another bill from Nissan Motor Corp., saying that I owed {$9300.00} for the XXXX that they kept. I called Nissan again and was told that this car was never paid off by XXXX XXXX Nissan and I was still responsible for the bill. I called XXXX XXXX and he said that he knew I did n't owe any money but he could n't help me or he might lose his job. I called XXXX XXXX, the owner, numerous times but he would not speak to me. Finally I reached him and he said he was sorry but it was not his responsibility to take care of this. XXXX the Finance/Sales Manager was no longer employed there so I could n't talk to him. I did not under any circumstances have to turn that car back in and if they had not sent the flyer ( which also came up missing from XXXX XXXX Nissan ) I would never have even considered another lease. Who lets you take a brand new lease car home if you owe them {$9300.00}?? No car dealership that I have ever heard of would let you leave with another car if you owed them anything. I am trying to refinance my house and Nissan has this on my credit report still saying that it was a " Write Off '', when in fact it was their mistake. I have it " in Dispute '' on my credit record but I need it removed in order to get my credit back. They have almost destroyed my credit and I had worked very hard to get my scores up. Please help me!

Complaint: After paying all my XXXX lease payments on time to Infiniti Financial Services I returned the car to the dealer. Later, I received a final bill of {$3300.00}. I do not dispute the final bill and just before its due date I mailed them {$1100.00}. I called their XXXX number to inform them that I was going to pay this bill in XXXX equal payment. No body answered the phone. So I wrote a note and included that with my payment. They sent me another bill for the balance. Again I tried to call them but no one answered the phone. Shortly after that I received phone call from a company named " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' claiming they have my account for collection. I explained to them that the account is current and Infiniti had a responsibility to inform me if they wanted me to pay someone else for the balance due. I told them that I do not know who they are and refuse to send them any money because this may simply be another scam. I asked them to inform Infiniti that they must inform me in writing new payment address and company. So far I have not heard anything from Infiniti but the collection company, XXXX, keeps calling me with intimidating messages. I do not know who they are and why a current account was referred to a collection agency.

There is still 26 months left on the lease. The inaccurate and misleading information regarding the residual value has left me with a vehicle that is worth less after 14 months than it was advertised to be worth after 39 months.
