Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I discovered my debit card had been used to with withdrawal over {$1300.00} + {$56.00} in fees at at least 3 ATM machines. I had the card in my possession while these withdrawals were being made. I gave no one my card and pin. I believe a skimmer was used to duplicate my card. These transactions were made XX/XX/XXXX.
I reported and filed a dispute with netspend. I provided everything they asked for. I waited the 10 days to get the results of my investigation and provisional funds. They denied my request and closed the dispute saying no fraud was found. I was notified via secure inbox on the 11th day that my dispute was closed. I can't understand how they came to this decision and closed the dispute..here is why .... I have a limit on my account of {$950.00} per day. whoever stole my info was able to take out much more than {$950.00}, in addition I am alerted via text and email after EACH transaction. I was NOT alerted. This leads me to believe again that someone made a copy of my card.
Netspend has been impossible to communicate with regarding this matter. They do not allow me to talk to a supervisor or most importantly, anyone in the dispute department. I was told I would definitely get provisional funds and then denied. The info I get from the customer service department varies and I'm often told that the previous representative gave me wrong info.
This was my entire monthly check..gone. Netspend failed me miserably

Complaint: So I have worked seasonal at XXXX last XX/XX/XXXX. I've worked there seasonal employment for past three years. And this year was first time I had any issue with payments to XXXX XXXX and Netspend. I noticed my paycheck was added to the card every payday but that i didn't increase balance in which I knew the issue needed to be addressed. I found this out in XX/XX/XXXX but like everyone else attached to this lawsuit I began to question my own issues the morals ingrained in your mind. So I requested a copy of my statement from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX but I never got one. I kept getting the run around with bogus reason to justify their denial. And so I just felt nothing was fairly represented and to just help in considering certain issues. Without deceiptive business practices and obtaining a certain level of trust.

Trouble getting, activating, or registering a card
Complaint: I dont know why I am getting this XXXX card. I think it was from a pop up survey that claim to give away gift cards ( which was a lie ) from me using the XXXX app connecting to XXXX website. I feel it is a dishonest way of doing business. I do not want this card and the survey was a waste of time.

Trouble using the card to spend money in a store or online
Complaint: On multiple occasions I contacted netspend about activating a prepaid card I had purchased and on the 2nd day when the customer service hours were activated I spoke with multiple rep 's and managers and was made aware of another card that had been activated without my consent. During these phone calls I told the representatives that I had active at this time fraud alerts on all my information and public reports and why didnt they follow such guidelines laid out in the reports or contact myself on the phone number placed in the alert. I was given no direct answer to these questions and when asked if I needed to send a fraud affidavit over I was told no no no and no until the 4th day on a Saturday that I needed to. I had spoken with a manager the night before who stated she submitted a request and it wouild be processed on Saturday the next day to unlock the card and once again no, no fraud affadavit would be needed. Saturday came and I spoke with XXXX who stated there was nothing anyone at that time could do and she would be submitted a fraud claim against the other card that was preventing this one from being activated. I asked why couldn't I activate this one without any online features and she stated once again no, I wanted to do this so atleast I could have availability to the funds. XXXX was of no help and offfered no solution.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I made a purchase on XXXX a.k.a XXXX XXXX expecting to receive my merchandise in return. However merchants never sent my merchandise and took my money for fraudulent purposes of person gain. I disrepute this matter with my banks nothing this has caused serious problems of my funds been low as well as fee with my bank.
XX/XX/XXXX XXXX confessed and refunded my funds which caused my funds to be low and access fees However netspend is engaging in this fraud and leaving all fees related to this matter from XX/XX/2017 and the present.
I contacted net spend and followed the chain of command of speaking to the supervisor and manager noting this fraudulent activity in I shouldnt be responsible for fees involving fraud netspend refuse to assist leaving multiple fees on my account

Trouble closing card
Complaint: I bought a Netspend card at XXXX in XXXX, MA on XXXX XX/XX/2018 at XXXX XXXX for {$68.00}. I called the company and activated it then attempted to use the card but It wouldn't work. I called Netspend back and tried to resolve the issue the same day. I ended up asking for a supervisor. While talking to him they said they could issue a refund and it would arrive in 7-10 days. I told him that would take too long and asked if there was any other way to resolve this sooner. he said no. I then informed him I rather keep the card and he told me it was too late they had already cancelled the card. Since this started I have spoke to Netspend around 5 times and XXXX around 5 times as well. It's been 17 days and I have yet to receive a refund. There is no tracking number and no one will further assist me. At this point Netspend constantly claims " you will receive it by mail tomorrow, '' which is never true and XXXX refuses to help at all aside from telling me to call Netspend. Hopefully you can hold XXXX responsible as well as they refuse to take any responsibility at all. I just want my money back and I feel like I have been robed by XXXX and Netspend. Neither seems to care at all.

Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 my Netspend/ XXXX XXXX debit card that I use was compromised while I was at work. During the time of the fraudulent activity I was at work and the card was in my possession. In the hour between XXXX XXXX- XXXX XXXX I received a total of 11 notifications of withdraws being made on my account from an ATM located at a gas station. I immediately notified Netspend of the fraudulent activity, and canceled my card. I also did what they requested and filed a police report and sent them a copy of the police report the same day that this incident occurred. I also offered to send a copy of my punch card to verify that I was at work during the time of the fraudulent activity in which they declined and said that they had all the documents they needed.
I waited a total of 10 business days for them to investigate the fraud with out getting the money credited back into my account. On the 11th day they notified me that they did not find any errors and were not going to credit my account the {$1600.00} that was stolen out of my account. However, according to the Netspend website they follow federal regulations in which they do not allow more than 6 ATM withdrawals and the withdrawals can not exceed {$940.00} in a 24 hour period. So Netspend did make an error in that instance. Also any time a fraudulent charge appears while the card is still in the card owners possession the company is required to cover it. For all I know the fraudulent activity to my card could have been an inside job since there were obvious errors made on their end, and they declined the offer to additional documents proving that I did not make these charges.

Complaint: My wallet was stolen on XX/XX/XXXX I immediately contacted the police to file a police report. Due to me loosing my card the crook already used card first unauthorized transaction at XXXX for {$190.00} and {$290.00}. I contacted Netspend to dispute charges. They said the charge to card was pending to call back next day. So I called back the next day on XX/XX/XXXX then they started transaction dispute. They didn't give provisional credit like they say the would. Told me I have to wait after investigation completed and it will be completed on XX/XX/XXXX .. Then XX/XX/XXXX came they closed it without getting my money back. I sent them everything including video of the crook from the store picking up wallet. Police report and all I talked with merchant from XXXX he said no one from Netspend contacted them about this issue. After hearing the closed my case with no finding I contacted Netspend and ask for supervisor got denied to talk to supervisor. I asked could I speak to someone who works with dispute and a customer service representative said it's no one you could speak to. Then searched online for a corporate number it was disconnected no number to reach out to. Another XXXX XXXX XXXX sent a email saying my Money of {$280.00} was deposited back on XX/XX/XXXX have yet to receive that money back as well.

Complaint: On the evening of XX/XX/18 about XXXX XXXX I tried to open a savings account with my current bank of 8 months -- XXXX XXXX XXXX. The account was approved and I XXXX from XXXX of XXXX tried to transfer XXXX from my Premiere Net Spend XXXX debit card. He informed me that the transaction would not go through because XXXX doesn't like or take that type of card from that institution. I've never run into this type of problem with my Net Spend debit card before. XXXX told me he would not be taking any money and for me to take that particular debit card into a BOA branch and take the {$400.00} off the card and deposit it into the new savings account ending in XXXX. What happened next is Netspend ( XXXX ) debited my card for the {$40000.00} and took it out of my account. The money is sitting in limbo. Netspend will not give it back with out XXXX writing a letter with 7 specific identified like, transaction #, etc. I worked on this problem 8 hours today to reclaim the money. XXXX, XXXX, Relationship Manager said " They Don't do that '' ... have a procedure for this mishap. He was rude and obnoxious and displayed that he didn't care, I am a XXXX ( I have been recently receiving urgent medical and I'm just worn out -- -I did nothing wrong! ), minority, senior on Social Security. I have no more money for the rest of the month. I really need your help! Both banks need to be investigated for their abuse of clients and their money

Complaint: I filed a dispute claim for unauthorized transaction on XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX for XXXX and a unauthorized transfer from my account to another party account on XX/XX/XXXX for {$250.00} dollars. The dispute claim sent me a message on XX/XX/XXXX saying they didnt find no errors made. So I had sent them over some documentation saying I was a victim of identity theft. So they sent over a message saying on XX/XX/XXXX there wasnt no declines for insufficient funds made, so I keep stating to them that the person who stole my identity was someone they was very close to me friend/ family member who knew I just received my tax refund. So of course someone close they knew how much to take off. And they also saying my pin wasnt changed prior after the transaction was made and I also explained to them that I didnt realize my funds was stolen until the next day when i realize someone around me had stolen my wallet. So thats when I called to check my balance and cancelled my card. Than comes XX/XX/XXXX when the transfer was made the same close person to me knew I issued a new card so they knew my account number and everything because my wallet had my social security number and everything inside so they made a transfer from out my account into my cousin NetSpend card because they stole his card as well, a mastermind when it came to taking my money. Basically XXXX XXXX NetSpend Prepaid XXXX dispute claim is calling me a liar and saying that I was the one who spent my funds and that Im not a victim of identity theft and its not fair to me nor my kids that I couldnt handle all my business because I came up short.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX was withdrawn from my account for a pair of shoes I never walked out of XXXX XXXX with. I swiped my card three times and was told the transaction was not completed. A reciept was never printed for the merchandise. I left the store while checking my account and I seen three charges for the the same pair of shoes I had just tried to purchase. I talked to the merchant and was told I would have to file a dispute with my bank. I contacted my bank and was told it takes up to 20 days for new customers. 20 days passed and still no update to the dispute. So I called back and was then told it wouldnt be updated til XX/XX/XXXX which is four months after the fact. I will never open another prepaid card with Netspend theyre a scam! I contacted XXXX XXXX customer service number and a representative was able to locate the transactions saying that all three were declined on their end but somehow the money is still missing from my account.

Complaint: OnXX/XX/XXXX I reloaded 2 netspend cards, {$1000.00} each.with another netspend card {$640.00} my information was approved and fully activated. netspend has mislead costumer to believe that they can use their money instantly but failed to keep up with that promise. Ive sent in documents needed for identity as i did for the card with the least money and it wasnt approved, my account for both accounts had now been blocked. i was told nowXX/XX/XXXX that i would be sent a check in the mail in 10days. Hoping its not a scam as others complained online about receiving a fake check. im still waiting.
