Complaint: Ive been in school at XXXX University for sometime now and Ive accrued about 20 different loans from this school with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was out of school for some time due to hardships where I lost my job and was unable to make the monthly payments of {$500.00} per month to continue to attend school. While I was out my 20 loans all reported something negative on my credit report ranging from the months of XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. I spoke with Nelnet and advised them of my hardship and asking as a Goodwill will they remove the late payments attached to my credit reports. I am currently back in school and on track to graduate in XX/XX/XXXX. The student loans have negatively impacted my credit reports. Please help.

Reply YES to postpone pmts for 12 mos due to hardship but intend to repay. XXXX Reply STOP to OptOut '' the text messages have been sent from following number ; XXXX for approx past year or more i have received numerous incorrect statements via XXXX XXXXl mail, approx two years ago or more i submitted all required and requested documentation concerning my total XXXX XXXX, spoke to nelnet collection department was informed at that time this loan had been forgiven based on federal disability laws, nelnet continually harasses with mail and text messages and with illegal collection practices, this is also a problem that has created issues on my crediit reports, i would appreciate any action you can take to correct and resolve the thrreatenig harrassment and if you can help correct and / or reverse the damage this has caused me concerning my credit reports, its my firm belief that nelnet is in violation of several federal civil rights laws and i feel it is imperative for myself and other consumers that legal action be taken against nelnet to correct their illegal, unprofessional incompetent record keeping, etc, thanks

Complaint: Back in XX/XX/2018, I spoke with a nelnet rep. They gave me a new repayment plan which was to begin on XX/XX/2018. They also told me I would get a Admin. Forbearance which meant that my account would be come current and up to date and allow time for my monthly billing statement to be sent to be before my first payment of my new repayment plan is due. Then I check my credit report in XX/XX/2018 and see that I have XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, & XXXX late fees on my report. I emailed them, faxed them and they refused to remove my remarks. They told me I was out of forbearances. So why didnt they tell me that back in XXXX. Anyways, again I checked my nelnet account online yesterday and I see they have updated my account with a new repayment plan of XX/XX/2018, which is fine, but they also gave me a Admin Forbearance, which is what I thought I was getting back in XXXX. I feel they are trying to make up for what they didnt do in XXXX. I am thankful they did this for me, but its a little to late for my credit report. I am gladly accepting this new repayment plan, but why was this not put into place back in XXXX. I feel that they made this mistake and not changed my information back in XXXX which lead to late payments on my report. If I was out of forbearances back in XXXX then why did they give me on in XXXX? Do you see what Im getting at? I think they just never changed anything to my account in XXXX and thats how the late fees came about. All Im asking is for these to be removed and make my account up to date and current. Because it was not my fault. I am keeping my payment arrangement the way it is now, but want those XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX updated. I also got an email from them : To dispute this further, you must file a credit dispute directly with the XXXX XXXX Agencies. Nelnet and the XXXX XXXX Agencies will then work together to investigate your dispute. Below is the contact information for each of the XXXX XXXX Agencies : then gave me the credit reporting information.
If I file with the reporting agencies, I dont think anything will happen because they will still refuse to change this, even though its not my fault. So this seem like a waste of time.
I have tried doing this but nelnet just keeps saying its accurate. Its only accurate because they never updated the admin forbearance on my account in XXXX.

Complaint: I received a phone call from XXXX XXXX onXX/XX/XXXX in an attempt to collect a debt in the amount of {$630.00}.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I requested two months of forbearance on my loans because I lost my full-time job. These were granted with no issues, and I was not informed of any restrictions moving forward on using the rest of my forbearance months ( XX/XX/XXXX remaining ).
I do not have a full-time job, and my monthly income is {$1800.00} ( I work three part-time jobs ). I am unable to afford my fixed expenses ( {$2400.00} ) in full so I attempted to speak with XXXX about using some forbearance while I tried to catch up. However, they informed me that 9 monthly payments must be made in between the use of forbearance before another 2 months can be used.
This is the first I've heard of these stipulations. I am behind on this loan and if I have 10 months of forbearance, it would be helpful to be able to use it since this is why it exists. I'm working on pulling up my promissory note from when I originally signed the loan with XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX now services XXXX XXXX loans ) because I don't believe I was ever informed of us. If I was, I would have potentially reconsidered using the forbearance some months ago.
This aside, XXXX was unable to work with me any further on. Is this what it's come to? If people can't make a payment, they just push you into a bigger hole of debt?

Complaint: Hello my name is XXXX XXXX I am writing this letter to whom it may concern, I have a loan that was recently reported on my credit report as 90 days late payment, these payments were late cause I was told that I had forbearance time to consolidate my school loans Now that I know I was given the wrong information I wanting to know if there is any way that if I bring my payments to current and set up automatic payment with a checking account could these late payments be removed from my credit report as a good will gesture I know that its not an obligation or if this is possible but it would be greatly appreciated I do construction work and it is seasonal which that said XXXX to XXXX are the busiest months here in Ohio, I started to make payments in XX/XX/2018 and what I should have done is set up automatic payments so I would not encounter these problems please let me know if there is a possibility of this happening I have worked so hard to build my credit scores and to have it taken away without warning of the situation that was going to take place and this really hurt my lively hood witch would intern help me to take care of the loan I feel so terrible, please let me know thanks in advance I will also be updating my contact info so that I can receive nelnet alerts thanks in advance I am awaiting your reply

Complaint: There are 90 day delinquencies on my credit report that are erroneous. I set up deferment status with the student loan company and they neglected to follow through with the status update on my file. 3 months later I received my first late notice. I called and inquired as to why I was in delinquent status and was informed that there was no deferral in place on my account. I explained that I had spoken to someone about the deferral previously and was told that I would be granted an administrative forbearance retroactively and have the delinquency taken off my credit record.
A few years later I checked my credit report to see that the forbearance had never happened as promised and that I still had 4 separate delinquencies stemming from one bundle of loans all originating from the same lender. I believe this in itself is a unfair practice and unnecessarily burdens young XXXX by damaging their credit excessively.
I believe the error in reporting is due to an overloaded staff at the agency. I was very clear about the terms of deferment and forbearance on the phone but my account was not updated to reflect this.

Complaint: I am in XXXX this is the reason why my loans was paid-off or clear by the department of Social Security on XX/XX/2018. I was checking my credit report to see that reflected, since the Social Security department notify me about that, then it supposed to be clear by then right but for some reason the same day it was closes the same day they reopen or duplicate the same loans. I contact the Social Security and they told me to try to call this company " NELNET '', but I was not able to open my account with them since I do not have any loan. I called them and they said they do not have idea. My credit score shows I still owe them when obviously I am not. It is not fear they are try to charge me again just to get more money.

Complaint: I recieved the following email from a loan servicer. This loan servicer managed my previous student loans that have been % 100 need paid off since XXXX. They did not properly document the full and complete payment of loans and are now trying to charge interest on a principal balance that does not exist.

Complaint: My current student loan balance on statement dated XX/XX/18 ( payment due date of XX/XX/18 ) was : {$39000.00}. My monthly auto drafted payment totals {$350.00} and the total interest that accrues is month is {$160.00}. After my payment of {$350.00} deducted on XX/XX/18, I receive an email about a week later stating that my new billing statement is ready. Upon reviewing my new statement, dated XX/XX/18, I see that my current balance is now : {$39000.00} ... a decrease of only {$110.00}. I am paying {$350.00} a month for my balance to only decrease by {$110.00}! This does not add up if my monthly increase is {$160.00}. Where is the remaining {$76.00} going? None of the customer services reps will kindly take the time to explain this to me. They talk to me as if Im uneducated and try to rush me off the phone. Im extremely fed up that I work extremely hard only to be stuck with student loans they never decrease. Please help me in resolving this issue, Im exhausted.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 Nelnet reported my account 90 day delinquent. On XX/XX/2018 I made a payment of what I could at the time of XXXX. This payment was not for the full amount but this is the only amount I could afford at the time. Now my credit score has dropped significantly And its affecting my ability to provide housing for my children. I asked Nelnet if they could remove this 90 day late delinquent status and they said they are not able to do that. This is my absolute first time being 90 day late on the payment I honestly dont feel that I was totally late because of my payment I submitted XX/XX/XXXX. I would like this to be removed from all credit reports.

Complaint: Nelnet accepted my payment online for {$200.00} through my checking account which is also my credit card its the same account then they refunded the money. I was on a low payment plan because I was laid off but that was set to expire which means my payments would go up to {$600.00} a month I cant afford that. Meanwhile I am gaining interest of around {$500.00} a month I owe {$65000.00}. Upon graduation XXXX said I owe them XXXX more dollars and never gave me my XXXX degree I have no transcripts and no degree and the school has closed. I cant get a job because Im a XXXX I shouldve never been approved for the program in the first place. I am driving a truck and have been since XX/XX/2014 when I graduated.

Don't agree with the fees charged
Complaint: In XXXX my student loans were transferred from Nelnet to XXXX.
XXXX increased the amount due by approximately {$19000.00} in collection costs and penalties.
My balance went from approximately {$35000.00} to {$54000.00}.
The loans were then transferred back to Nelnet for collection.
I disputed the debt on XX/XX/XXXX. See attachment.
I also requested an administrative review pursuant to 34 CFR 682.410 ( b ) ( 5 ). The request was made on XX/XX/XXXX. See attachment..
Nelnet ignored both the dispute letter and the request for review.
They proceeded with collection.
On XX/XX/XXXX they filed a negative report to XXXX and XXXX.
On XX/XX/XXXX they filed another negative report to the same credit agencies. The report is also attached.
Collections should have stopped upon receipt of my dispute letter and an administrative review should have been conducted upon the XX/XX/XXXX request.
Instead Nelnet ignored the federal consumer protection laws.

Complaint: On XX/XX/18, I received an alert from a credit monitoring system that I was 90 days late on my student loan serviced through Nelnet. I called and spoke with Nelnet and advised that I had spoke with a representative back in XXXX. I asked her what we could do to try and remove the 90 day late pay and she immediately jumped to defense and only told me that she could not do this and that the late pay would stay. She never offered me an investigation or even to speak with upper management and now this has totally ruined my credit because of error that they made on their part.
