Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Complaint: I feel third-party debt collector Midwest Recovery Systems ( MRS ) is currently violating state and federal laws when reporting accounts to the credit bureaus. When MRS purchases old debts from an original creditor they never contact the consumer, neither 30 days prior to reporting it or 30 days after reporting it. They are in the business of reporting fraudulent or erroneous information to the credit bureaus with the intent to deceive consumers for financial gain. MRS has a history of reporting old accounts, outdated accounts, fraudulent accounts and inaccurate accounts to the three major credit bureaus without validation. When reporting these accounts they knowingly report invalidated accounts, inaccurate balances, erroneous open dates ( to re-age accounts ) to keep the accounts on credit reports longer and different address to avoid consumers complaints. Also, when you dispute their claim through the three major credit bureaus, they update your account with a blanket statement that it complies with the FCRA and age the account to include missed payments.
Currently reported the following : XXXX ( credit report dated XX/XX/2018 ) Account name : XXXX XXXX Original Creditor : XXXX XXXX XXXX Date Opened : XX/XX/2018 Account Status : open Bal : {$320.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MO XXXX XXXX ( invalid number ) XXXX ( credit report dated XX/XX/2018 ) Account name : Midwest Recovery Systems Original Creditor : XXXX Date Opened : XX/XX/2018 Account Status : closed Bal : {$320.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MO XXXX XXXX XXXX ( credit report dated XX/XX/2018 has no collection account from Midwest Recovery Sys or XXXX ) ( Credit report dated XX/XX/2018 contains the following information ) Account name : Midwest Recovery Systems Original Creditor : XXXX Date Opened : XX/XX/2018 Account Status : closed Status Updated : XX/XX/2018 Bal : {$320.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MO XXXX XXXX *MRS did not report to XXXX until XX/XX/2018 after I filed a XXXX complaint on XX/XX/2018. With a balance date or XXXX *MRS flagged my account on XX/XX/2018 as collections, with a balance date of XXXX *Updated XX/XX/2018 as FB ( failed to pay ) As you can see that this company has a habit of providing erroneous and conflicting reports to the different credit bureaus in an attempt to deceive for financial gain. I never opened an account with MRS or XXXX in XX/XX/2018 as they have reported. I find it odd that they never contacted me or sent any correspondence concerning his supposed debt. I also find it disturbing that they would report different information to the bureaus as well as continue to provide misleading and erroneous information while my dispute is being investigated.
Spoke with XXXX XXXX of MRS XX/XX/2018 and she refused to discuss the supposed debt because I wouldnt provide my social security number or date of birth. I did not feel comfortable providing this information seeing that they have been very deceptive in their practices.
At this point I feel I have no other option than to hire legal representation to resolve this.

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: Re : Acct. XXXX Midwest Recovery Systems report XX/XX/2016 {$580.00} Reporting from all credit bureaus.
I have contacted Midwest Recovery Systems, LLC verbally since XX/XX/2016. They would not remove the acct.
I contacted them by letter XX/XX/XXXX telling them it is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act to report {$580.00} balance due to XXXX on my credit. I requested viable evidence bearing my signature that the report to be accurate. THey did not respond to my request.
I wrote a letter to all credit bureaus disputing a false collection on my credit report XX/XX/XXXX. I requested a copy of any documents, bearing my signature showing that I have a legally binding contractual obligation to pay the alleged amount. The days and times of sign in and sign out of services equaling the alleged amount claimed that I owe Midwest Recovery Systems LLC.
They responded stating the information was verified but did not provide any documentation requested that this was an accurate report. This is a violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act Section 807-8 and Defamation.

Frequent or repeated calls
Complaint: When picking up the phone, an automated voice comes on " this is XXXX XXXX with Midwest recovery systems, please hold for the next available representative. '' Most of the time, the phone rings several times and then goes to an answering machine. When a representative does answer, they immediately ask for my name and then say there is a claim against me. They say I owe $ 700+ and I must pay by end of day or they're submitting a warrant and sending the local police to my location ( they gave an address I had out of state 5 years ago ). When I asked them to send me information regarding the debt they said - we did. I said I never received it and I have no knowledge of it, the lady 's response was - That's what they all say, pay today or you're going to jail. I told her I need to speak with my lawyer and she hung up on me.
Upon call backs to this company, no one will state the name of the company. They immediately ask my name and won't give any other information. When making repeated call backs to attempt to get another representative, it is the same person EVERY time.
The number they call from is XXXX

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: I have never received written notification of a collection account which appeared on my XXXX credit report. I disputed the item with XXXX, and the item was deleted from their credit file on XX/XX/2018 as a result of their re-investigation due to inability to verify the debt. The same account has now been reported on my XXXX and XXXX credit files as of XX/XX/2018, and I have initiated disputes with the credit bureaus to have the account removed.

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: I sent two certified letters to CA for validation and they sent me a copy of a bill. And that according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I have the right to ask them to send proof of that debt. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a federal law regulating debt collectors, allows consumers to request the debt collector to send proof of then debt through a process called debt validation.
A copy of a bill IS NOT proof of debt. I also stated they were violating my rights under the law put in place to protect consumers and I demand proof of this debt or delete it from my credit reports immediately.
