Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone
Complaint: I have contacted both XXXX , Lexis Nexis and XXXX and made them all aware that I was a victim of identity theft and provided them both a copy of my police report, identity theft affidavit, driver 's license, social security card and a recent bill and asked them both to act in accordance with the FCRA Section 605 ( B ), by blocking the information that I have detailed to them that was fraudulent from my credit file and they both have refused to comply with the law. I have sent both credit reporting agencies all of the aforementioned details by certified so I can prove them having received this information and I can also prove their non compliance to the FCRA that governs them, and they have neither one done anything other than treat my complaints of identity theft as a normal dispute. I have tried to contact both companies by phone as well to speak with them about their non compliance to the law concerning identity theft, but when you speak to them on the phone they tell you that there is nothing called the FCRA. The agents that work about both of these agencies are oblivious to the fact that there are laws that govern their conduct and they just try to take advantage of the victim. Sometimes when you call they will hang up on you, or they will flat out refuse to assist you in any meaningful way.
These credit bureaus are not complying withe laws that govern them and they both should be sanctioned and investigated. I have simply asked them both to comply with the law and block certain fraudulent information from my credit file after having provided all of the required documents, but they refuse to abide by the law. The people that work at these companies are extremely unskilled and not familiar with the law and the rules and regulations that govern them and they in turn treat the consumer in a demeaning manner. When I have mentioned to the representatives at both XXXX Lexis Nexis , and XXXX that they could be fined and sued for their unethical practices they do n't take it seriously and they will tell you then just sue us then. Is this really the way that credit reporting agencies are allowed to act in the USA? This is unethical behavior that they are displaying and I hope that The CFPB will not continue to allow them to get away with it.

Complaint: I have contacted both LexisNexis, XXXX and XXXX about the reporting of ( 2 ) fraudulent Chapter XXXX Bankruptcies that are showing on my credit files. When I contacted XXXX they refused to do a proper investigation of the matter and only submitted a request to verify my correct personal information with LexisNexis, and this does not constitute a proper fraud investigation when I have informed both XXXX, XXXX and LexisNexis that my information was compromised as a result of identity theft. These bankruptcies also show that they were filed in the state of S.C., however I have never resided in the state of S.C., so it is impossible that I could have ever filed a bankruptcy in S.C. as that would be prohibited. I have never in my life filed any bankruptcy but I have always lived in the State of Georgia so there as many reasons why these bankruptcy records are fraudulent. I have sent both LexisNexis, XXXX and XXXX my personal statement of these facts, a copy of my police report to prove this was fraud and both of them continue to report information that they know is fraudulent. It is also impossible to file ( 2 ) bankruptcies in a one year period yet both of these agencies claim that I did, but his is 100 % false. These are not my bankruptcies and neither agency are doing proper fraud investigations they are only verifying my name and social security number, and that is improper when I have told both companies I was the victim of identity theft where my information was compromised and uses.
The bankruptcy numbers are as follows : Case XXXX filed XX/XX/XXXX Case XXXX filed XX/XX/XXXX

Investigation took more than 30 days
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I called Lexis Nexis and spoke to XXXX. I advised her that there was an inaccurate bankruptcy ( docket XXXX ). I advised her that I would like to dispute the information on my Lexis Nexis risk report and Lexis Nexis Public record report that is used to report information to the 3 Major credit agencies. She advised me that she put in the 2 disputes and that the investigation would take up to 30days. On XX/XX/XXXX I called again to Lexis Nexis just to make sure that the previous rep did actually put in the disputes as I had requested and spoke to a supervisor XXXX. XXXX apologized and stated that the previous rep XXXX that I spoke to on XX/XX/XXXX only sent in one dispute by mistake and that he would submit the other dispute and backdate it to XX/XX/XXXX which was the original date that I called in to dispute it. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Lexis Nexis and spoke to supervisor XXXX. She advised me that the dispute that XXXX put in on XX/XX/XXXX was completed but the dispute that XXXX put in on XX/XX/XXXX had not yet been completed. I advised her that 30days has passed since both disputes had been entered. She stated that the dispute that XXXX put in was for XX/XX/XXXX and had not been back dated as he previously advised me it would be since XXXX failed to do it when I called on XX/XX/XXXX. I advised her that I called in on XX/XX/XXXX and requested that both reports ( XXXX and Risk Report-public records ) be disputed and that XXXX failed to submit the Risk Report dispute so that is an error on Lexis Nexis. Per FCRA all disputed items must be investigated within 30days of the initial dispute of XX/XX/XXXX. Lexis Nexis failed to investigate the bankruptcy docket # XXXX within 30days from XX/XX/XXXX so the inaccurate item must be removed

Account information incorrect
Complaint: I have attempted to contact the collection agency and the company that is claiming I owe this debt. I have even attempted to resolve this with the credit bureaus. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is claiming that they evicted me from my apartment in XXXX 2013. They even filed an eviction against me and is being reported on Lexis Nexus. I have supplied them with proof ( my lease ) that I was not a resident of this apartment at the time they filed the eviction. I had moved out almost 3 months prior to this. I submitted proof of my notice to vacate, the email response to my notice, and a rental history verification where they acknowledged I turned in my notice. The proof they keep submitting is a auto generated bill statement where they applied charges that were not mine ( the base rent does n't match the base rent included on my signed lease ), including legal fees, and charges for damages. They claim the proof of these damages is a move-out condition sheet which the apartment number/address is missing, the resident 's name is missing, and the lease start date is incorrect. XXXX XXXX did submit my signed lease. A portion of it anyways and the lease does not match their so called supporting documents. This has cause me to loose out on being able to rent elsewhere and damaging to my credit. This has being ongoing trying to get this matter resolved. My next step will be legal actions.

Complaint: Was denied credit and the denial letter stated that LexisNexis reported a judgment. I requested my consumer file on XX/XX/XXXX. I received that entire file dated XX/XX/XXXX and found several errors. Incorrect spellings ( unknown ) of my name, incorrect ( unknown ) addresses, and two judgments one of which had one of the incorrect spelled names ( unknown ). I contacted LexisNexis via phone call on XX/XX/XXXX. I went through my file page by page line by line disputing incorrect information and was assured that it would be correct and that I would receive an updated report within 30 days. I received my Results of Investigation file on XX/XX/XXXX and realized that nothing was removed. I call and spoke with another rep ( a guy ) this time and went through my file again line by line, page by page and asked him how was this judgment verified. he insisted that it was Public Records and that was how they verified it via that database. I told him that I had spoken with the courts and the clerk could not find any judgments for me after I had given her my drivers license number, my social security number, and my full name. He informed me that he would open a Reinvestigation and forward it to the ESCALATION Department. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a third copy of my file and again nothing was deleted or verified. I then sent a certified letter asking for verification method, the names and phone numbers of people they may have contacted to verify and listed every error in detail with the page number in which they could be found. Again, I asked that this incorrect unverified information be removed. I received a response dated XX/XX/XXXX that said everything was verified and that I should contact the courts and have them update their system. I called the Justice of Peace XXXX XXXX - XXXX Court and spoke with XXXX ( XXXX ) and was told again that there was no way to verify the judgments that LexisNexis is reporting because those files were in " storage '' and that some one would have to physically go retrieve them and that the judge is the only person that could do it because these are personal confidential files. I called LexisNexis again on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with XXXX and asked how was this verified and she told me the same thing about it coming from Public Records but when I ask what Public Record if the court that they say has the judgment is telling me that they do n't have verification to provide me how is it that LexisNexis is getting verification? She told me that she would open ANOTHER Reinvestigation and forward it again to the ESCALATION department. I sent another certified letter on XX/XX/XXXX asking for written proof of verification and for the unverified information and incorrect names and addresses to be removed. I have denial letters for Insurance Coverage from XXXX and denial letters for car loans with reasons being adverse information provided by LexisNexis.

Investigation took more than 30 days
Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2017 I sent a letter to LexisNexis informing them they were incorrectly reporting a bankruptcy on my file with them and asking them to validate the information or remove the entry from their file. The letter was sent certified, return receipt, which they signed for on XXXX XXXX, 2017. I never received a reply to my letter. I followed up with another letter on XXXX XXXX, 2017, informing LexisNexis that since they had not responded to my letter within 30 days the entry needed to be removed. I then received a response from LexisNexis on XXXX XXXX, 2017 stating the data in question was reporting accurately, but they never explained how they validated the accuracy.

I believe this is a violation because 1 ) the investigation took longer than 30 days ; and 2 ) they did not provide the method used to validate the accuracy of this entry.

Personal information incorrect
Complaint: On X/X/17 I applied at XXXX to purchase a vehicle, once approved and ready to take the final background Quiz, done through the public information system ( LEXISNEXIS ), my last name was spelled wrong by one letter. Upon calling and going through the automated messages I finally got through to the proper department. They told me the best they could do was file an investigation into the matter and would not put me through to a supervisor. They said the investigation would take 40-60 days and hung up at XXXX because the woman said the office was closing.

Complaint: Automobile Insurance Claims that were originally filed in error by an inexperienced Claims Adjuster, then withdrawn are not being removed from my C.L.U.E Auto Report by XXXX and LexisNexis. I have attached letters from XXXX stating that the claims will not be filed and are withdrawn. Therefore the minor damages reported by me to XXXX are for " reporting purposes only ''. XXXX has and will not expend revenue in any means whatsoever on these particular claims that are now " closed ''. As you know, this erroneous reporting by the aforementioned companies can seriously affect my renewal and/ or renewal rates. Initially, I filed a dispute with XXXX and after ordering my XXXX XXXX Auto report for a second time found that only one or two of the attached claims were indeed removed. I filed a dispute with LexisNexisXXXX XXXX, waited three weeks and received the same report with no changes. Immediately I called XXXX and the person who generated the letters told me I needed to contact the Service Department. I called the XXXX Service Department over the XXXX XXXX XXXX weekend and she told me she had no way to access the letters and she transferred me to the Claims Department. The lady in the Claims Department instructed me to contact the person who generated the letters because she could do nothing for me. I called the person ( XXXX XXXX ), who generated the letters of Claim Withdrawal and she stated that she would inform the Underwriting Department at XXXX to remove the remaining three claims. I checked my XXXX XXXX Auto report this morning and nothing has been done about this issue. Also, LexisNexis has a bad policy of reporting 'Possible Related Claims '' ( PRC ), on most XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX by geographically matching someone 's Surname to other claims. I am a XXXX person over XXXX with a XXXX child in another state. I have spent the last six weeks trying to get my report corrected. In that time period LexisNexis has reported other claims on my XXXX . Auto Report of people I do n't even know. There is a lot of other people 's personal information on these claims that show up on another 's report. As a prior victim of Identity Theft I believe this practice is dangerous for any consumer. When they engage in this misleading business tactic they never inform or ask the actual person affected if these people are related to, or on their policy. Please help me to resolve these issues. You have helped me in the past and the CFPB does great work. Thank You!

Information is missing that should be on the report
Complaint: This is a complaint about XXXX insurance and their apparent use of XXXX . which is subject to the FACTAct which is missing information regarding insurance on the property for which I served as Trustee and now serve as manager for the management company for the present owner ( s ).
I served as the Trustee of my dad 's trust managing his home and financial affairs during his late life and after his passing. I arranged for and paid the premiums of his homeowners/ landlord policy. After his passing, I arranged and signed for the transfer of ownership to my younger sister and her husband and became ( rental ) property manager for them as they live in a distant location.
In arranging property insurance for them with XXXX, I am now advised that they have issued the policy with a one month term and non-renewal notice based on the statement that no insurance is presently in place. This is not true and I have evidence to show that. Further, they did not reach out to either the agent nor to me or the owner to obtain clarification. It appears that they have relied solely on XXXX. This database is apparently not up to speed as the change in ownership and change in insurance and prior insurance agencies have muddied the water.
I have contacted the XXXX Chairman 's complaint hotline : XXXX XXXX at XXXX x XXXX. She said she is unable to receive from me the evidence of insurance that I wanted to provide to them. I do not believe that LexisNexis ( owners of XXXX ) will respond sufficiently fast in correcting their database, and then am totally skeptical that XXXX will correct their inaccurate assessment timely to avoid an insurance crisis.
Please help.

Information is incorrect
Complaint: Please read company 's false response before I dispute In his complaint with your office, XXXX. XXXX states that two incidents reported by LexisNexis dated XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX are incorrect and are impacting his insurance premiums. In response to XXXX XXXX complaint, LexisNexis searched our systems using XXXX XXXX name and address as provided in his complaint and located two reports a XXXX . Auto report and a Motor Vehicle Record ( MVR ) report provided to XXXX XXXX insurance carrier, XXXX XXXX. On XXXX XXXX MVR report, LexisNexis located a moving violation issued on XX/XX/XXXX, with a conviction date of XX/XX/XXXX, which we believe to be one of the incidents XXXX XXXX is disputing. On XXXX XXXX XXXX . Auto report, LexisNexis located a claim dated XX/XX/XXXX, which XXXX XXXX states is incorrectly reporting as at fault.
Page 2 XXXX In an effort to resolve XXXX XXXX concerns, LexisNexis initiated a dispute of the claim dated XX/XX/XXXX listed on his XXXX . Auto report. During our reinvestigation of the claim dated XX/XX/XXXX listed on XXXX XXXX XXXX . Auto report, XXXX XXXX XXXX verified that XXXX XXXX was the named insured and the vehicle operator for the claim in question, and that the claim is a personal injury claim from being rear-ended. Please note that there is no fault assigned to this claim. Given this verification, LexisNexis is unable to remove the disputed claim from the XXXX . database.
In regards to the moving violation issued XX/XX/XXXX for use of a mobile telephone while operating a motor vehicle, which has a conviction date of XX/XX/XXXX, the MVR obtained on behalf of XXXX XXXX was provided by the government agency of the state that maintains driver history information ( e.g., Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Public Safety, or Secretary of State ). LexisNexis obtains MVRs from the appropriate government agency, standardizes the information, and forwards the information to the company requesting the record.
LexisNexis does not have the ability to change the substance of the information contained in the MVR other than to verify that the information is correctly standardized. The state in which XXXX XXXX is licensed to drive has the responsibility of maintaining his driving record. If he identifies errors in his MVR, he must first contact the appropriate government agency in the state in which he is licensed to confirm the accuracy of their data.
If XXXX XXXX has any further questions for LexisNexis, please have him contact the LexisNexis Consumer Center via email at XXXX or by phone at XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. The LexisNexis Consumer Center 's hours of operation are Monday - Friday from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX Eastern Time.

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: I had previously disputed a judgment account XXXX that was erroneously showing on my LexisNexis file back in XX/XX/XXXX. THis is my 4th dispute regarding this account because LexisNexis has refused to comply with FCRA 611 part ( A ) ( 1 ).
In their letter dated XX/XX/XXXX in response to my 3rd dispute regarding this erroneous judgment account XXXX that they verified that this account was associated with me, XXXX XXXX. However, the LexisNexis investigator intentionally ignored a copy of the court judgment order showing that in response to my motion filed on XX/XX/XXXX to have the judgment account XXXX set aside pursuant to VA code 8.01-428 ( ii ) void judgment was granted and this default judgment account that was entered against on XX/XX/XXXX was set aside on XX/XX/XXXX.
Therefore, LexisNexis can not just suppress this judgement account now that was set aside by the court and now that account no longer exist that was previously granted.
LexisNexis refused to comply with the FCRA 611 part ( A ) ( 1 ) when they failed to respond and were required to delete the account. Now the judgment account XXXX has been set aside therefore they are required to delete the account completely from their files. They still do not want to comply but suppress a record that has been set aside by the court and no longer being valid.
This continues to show that LexisNexis does not comply with the laws regarding consumers and continues to violate the law. You should be able to see if they are continuing to violates my rights by failing to properly comply to remove and delete an account that now has been set aside by the courts, how many millions of consumers rights are they violating.
Please see my attached letter dated XX/XX/XXXX that I specifically address the judgment account being set aside by the court on XX/XX/XXXX and provided certified copies of the paperwork from the court showing the judgment that was entered had been set aside. I also provide a copy of their 3rd response letter that show how they continue to state that they have verified the account which is now false because as of XX/XX/XXXX this judgment has been set aside.
