Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt was paid
Complaint: I.Q. Data International , Inc has acquired a invalid debt from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX The debt is actually an over charge, specifically a double charge that was previously zeroed out, no balance due. asked landlord to send all bills/invoices by mail after moving out Instead of mailing me my deposit or the bills/invoices as required by law RCWs > Title 59 > Chapter 59.18 > Section 59.18.280, RCWs > Title 59 > Chapter 59.18 > Section 59.18.260 landlord took deposit to cover bills without approval. landlord never sent legally required notice of bills deducted from deposit within 21 days, or ever. landlord never sent a bill to pay, how do you pay a bill you never received? I had sent notice well in advance and made sure I was able to stay an extra 19 days. I paid the previous rent in full and all bills such as garbage, water, parking. I later paid the full balance on XXXX web payment portal for the extra 19 days. Instead of billing me for 19 days of water, garbage, parking an error was entered on paylease for 49 days worth of those expenses despite having already paid the previous month worth when it was due. They then added a carpet cleaning and cleaning bill. which they zeroed out to make the amount owed Zero balance. I noticed it was wrong, but since it showed " Zero balance due '' ( attached in files ) I figured it was easier to move on than dispute a big zero. 3 months later I was contacted by someone presenting themselves as the manager of the property and demanding I bring cash or money order to them in person as " the account '' was over due. I logged into pay lease. I saw I owed nothing, and informed them that I believed this was a scam. I told them to add the bill to pay lease if it was valid and I would pay it ( as all previous bills had been paid ) They refused and said that wasn't possible. I said I would only do correspondence by mail and to please mail me all bills and invoices. 6 months later I received many voice mails from a debt collector. Eventually after calling for over 2 weeks they sent a letter which I responded to the same day by USPS requesting validation of debt, and stating that the debt was already settled with paylease. They ignored that letter and acted like they did not receive it. I realizing I needed proof of receipt sent a fax which sends you a message back that it was received.. They still refused to validate the debt, they have sent me nothing at all. Worse they claim I owe interest despite the lease contract saying nothing at all about interest in this case. There's a clause where if a bill is overdue they can add XXXX dollars to the cost however I paid ALL bills and have a receipt that shows zero balance, nothing due, and have been provided with no bills/invoices at all. The debt collector has blocked the phone number of the free internet fax service that I used to request validation of the debt. So I used another one to re-request validation of the debt. I have no problem paying a valid debt that is sent to me via the online payment portal system that my landlord demanded we pay all bills through. It seems suspect that a landlord would demand cash payment especially when it does not match the online payment portal ledger. I still suspect that it is a scam until they can provide me all proper bills via the online portal system and invoices for all charges deducted from my deposit as well by mail. I have been waiting over 6 months to see invoices showing that a contractor actually did this work on this specific unit or to see the original copies of the water/sewer/parking bills showing account/unit numbers. They refuse to show any bills to me despite multiple requests! I have filed a request for my deposit back as the manger has not been in compliance with the RLTA in sending me any information about the bills/invoices deducted within 21 days.

Debt collection: Other debt

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: At the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX, I sent all three credit bureaus a dispute letter for an apartment complex, The XXXX XXXX, that is reporting on my credit. The letter asked the bureaus to validate the debt through IQ Data International. Then I asked if they can't send me physical proof of the validation from IQ Data International then to remove it from my credit report immediately. When I received a response back by letter from the three bureaus they write that the debt was validated for IQ Data International, but never sent me proof it was validated like I asked in my letter. This means IQ Data can't validate the debt they are trying to collect on. So, XX/XX/XXXX I sent a letter to all three bureaus giving them one more chance to have IQ Data International validate the debt by sending physical proof to me. The letter below is the letter I sent : XXXX, I am making a final good will attempt to have you clear up this matter. The accounts you sent back verified are entirely inaccurate, incomplete, and represent a very serious error in your reporting. Also be advised that this is my second time contacting your company about this matter in writing. Your company is in violation of 15 U.S.C. 1681. No need for me to go into detail and tell you the law. Your company KNOWS for a fact that you are required under the FCRA to have properly verified the accuracy of an account listed on my credit report with physical documents. As I am sure that you are well aware, current Federal case law states that, Consumer Reporting Agencies bear grave responsibilities to ensure the accuracy of the accounts they report on and their responsibility must consist of something more than merely parroting information received from other sources. That basically means that you cant just verify my account by telling me it is verified. Nor can you verify my account by telling me you contacted the creditor and the account I disputed is Verified. This means that IF you cant send me proof of these accounts from YOUR COMPANY, it must come off. All in all, you have ignored my request to provide me with the documents that you have in your files that were used to verify the disputed accounts, which means that you have NOT verified or you can not verify any of these accounts and under Section 611 ( 5 ) ( A ) of the FCRA you are required to ... promptly delete all information which can not be verified. This law is as clear as daylight, as to the civil liability and the remedy available to me for negligent noncompliance ( Section 617 ) if you fail to comply with this Federal Law. I am a litigious consumer and fully intend on pursuing litigation in this matter to enforce my rights under the FCRA. I demand the following accounts be verified or deleted immediately : Account name : XXXX XXXX XXXX. Reason : You failed to verify and validate all data for this account, every notation, dates and balances. This account needs to be removed IMMEDIATELY via FCRA section 611. Account name : IQ Data International. Reason : You failed to verify and validate all data for this account, every notation, dates and balances. This account needs to be removed IMMEDIATELY via FCRA section 611. I have attached the following to this detailed dispute! The following landlord tenant acts have been violated. Below are the following : 33-1322. Disclosure and tender of written rental agreement : The Landlord has failed to identify the dwelling unit on initial contract. Therefore, it is void. 33-1321. C. With respect to tenants who first occupy the premises or enter into a new written rental agreement after XX/XX/XXXX, upon move in a landlord shall furnish the tenant with a signed copy of the lease, a move-in form for specifying any existing damages to the dwelling unit and written notification to the tenant that the tenant XXXX be present at the move-out inspection. Upon request by the tenant, the landlord shall notify the tenant when the landlord 's move-out inspection will occur. If the tenant is being evicted for a material and irreparable breach and the landlord has reasonable cause to fear violence or intimidation on the part of the tenant, the landlord has no obligation to conduct a joint move-out inspection with the tenant. If your company, XXXX, fails to comply with federal regulations by credit reporting agencies, you will be required to appear in a court venue local to me, in order to formally defend yourself. I will also have your company investigated by the Federal Trade Commission ( see 15 USC 41, et seq. ). I am also maintaining a careful record of my communications with you for the purpose of filing a complaint with the FTC and the Attorney Generals office, should you continue in your non-compliance. I further remind you that, as in XXXX v. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX ( C.D.Cal. XX/XX/XXXX ), you may be liable for your willful non-compliance. This is not legal advice. I do not offer legal advice. If you need legal advice seek yourself an attorney or counsel. Please be advised, the information I am about to share with you is for educational, informational and entertainment purposes only. Failure to respond satisfactorily within 30 days of receipt of this certified letter will result in a small claims action against your company. I will be seeking {$5000.00} in damages for : 1. ) Defamation 2. ) Negligent Enablement of Identity Fraud 3. ) Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act By provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I demand that these items be investigated and removed from my credit report IMMEDIATELY. It is my understanding that you will recheck these items with the creditor who posted them. Please send an updated copy of my report to the above address. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX After this letter was sent, I have not heard anything back and it has been two months.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: I do not know

Debt is not yours
Complaint: Reviewing my credit report because my identity was compromised by XXXX is when I saw this on my credit report. I had no prior knowledge of what this alleged debt was for. I filed a dispute with XXXX immediately. Upon completion of their investigation the debt with I.Q. Data International was deleted from my Credit Report approximately XX/XX/XXXX. This debt showed up only on XXXX, however, once it was deleted from XXXX approximately a month later I found it was now reported to XXXX and XXXX. Upon further review of this alleged debt, I discovered that I.Q. Data International continues to fluctuate the amounts they report. I.Q. Data International makes it appear I am making payments on this debt in addition to charging interest. To my knowledge I have no signed contract with I.Q. Data International and continue to get the door slammed in my face by XXXX. When I.Q. Data International re-used information that was deleted from my credit report they did so with malice and false pretense. Changing the amount and reporting payments, adding interest for an account that doesn't isn't mine warrants consequences. I.Q. Data International and XXXX are causing me emotional distress and financial ramifications. Believing this issue was resolved when it was deleted by XXXX, only to discover the underhanded tactics of I.Q. Data International by now reporting false information to XXXX and XXXX without my knowledge. Neither slimy entity will provide me with any documentation supporting their positions. I have already prevailed in the deletion of this account, and this is why my requests are ignored. Why is I.Q. Data International allowed to report false information and a better question is why XXXX also reporting false information? XXXX refuses to delete this false account. On XX/XX/XXXX, I tried to speak with a representative and she hung up on me when I asked her questions to substantiate their position. I called back and another representative tried to stonewall me when I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. After 20 or so minutes on hold a man got onto the phone and identified himself as a supervisor. I explained what had just occurred and he didn't seem concerned about how I was treated nor apologized. He told they contacted the Collection Agency and the information was verified. I asked how and what information was being supplied. The response I received was it was verified and they will not disclose how it was verified and the Collection Agency pays them to report information. I told them I would send them I would send my documentation from XXXX proving it was deleted, and he adamantly declined. These employees of XXXX do not understand English or speak it. I continually asked for them to repeat themselves and most times got frustrated. Their behavior was either dismissive or obtuse. How can a consumer have a conversation with someone who doesn't speak English or comprehend it? Unless, they are trained to act stupid and treat consumers very poorly. I have tried numerous times to resolve this with XXXX, yet they refuse to cooperate and because I do not pay them this is why I believe they will not remove it from my credit report. I am being held hostage by a dishonest Collection Agency and the unethical practices of XXXX. Please help assist in correcting this abuse.

Complaint: IQ Data International has been harassing me since XX/XX/XXXX with repeated phone calls, sometimes more than once per day, regarding a debt I do not owe. I have sent letters with documentation to show I do not owe the debts, and they continue to harass me. I found out recently that they also reported the debts to the credit bureaus, which is negatively affecting my credit. I sent follow up letters demanding that they contact the credit bureau to remove the collections and they have not responded.

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: After being relieved from my lease due to a breach in contract and vacating my unit XX/XX/XXXX I received an email from a representative at XXXX for a move out statement on XX/XX/XXXX claiming I owe {$770.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I disputed the balance as inaccurate and after that I didnt receive any further communications from this company verifying that this debt is accurate. I received an alert from the credit bureau stating that a new account was added to my report so I checked it to see that XXXX had sent a bill to collections with an entire new balance in the amount of {$860.00}. So instead of verifying the accuracy of the fees from the move out statement, they added more fees on top. I had not received any communication from the reporting agency or the original creditor since I disputed the original statement on XX/XX/XXXX so I was unaware that it even existed and was not given the option to dispute it or revived any notice of said debt before it was placed on my report in XX/XX/XXXX. I have recently reached out to the original creditor and they are also refusing to provide me with any validation. I have timestamped photos from the day of the inspection showing the unit was clean, I have copies of the exchange of emails between the community manager and I, and I also have a portion of my lease where it shows that they violated the terms for a move out procedure and sent this account to collections while completely ignoring my dispute. The only correspondence I received from XXXX was for a bill in the amount of {$55.00} that was sent on XX/XX/XXXX.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: After reviewing my credit, I noticed a collection item listed on XXXX. This item was listed by I.Q. International ; 2 amounts were listed the original debt {$190.00} and another amount {$290.00}. I called I.Q. international XX/XX/18 to inquire on what the item was the Customer service agent said I owed {$310.00}, I then asked why the difference she said interest accrues daily and if I didn't pay {$310.00} the amount would be more. She also stated that I signed a contract with XXXX the rental bond company, and the documents I signed states that fees would be incurred if debt wasn't paid. I refused to pay the amount and ended the call. I then called XXXX inquiring on the debt, which they claimed was unpaid utilities. This does not make sense since the property rented was in XXXX XXXX FL and utilities were in my name, or billed through the monthly payment. According to the original creditor XXXX this item was for utilities after I moved out of the property. XXXX customer service did let me know that I did not sign any documents which claimed fees over and beyond my debt would be collected. My complaint is that I.Q. Data international is billing additional fees over and beyond a debt I owe. Agents are making false statements in regards to documents I signed. Agent also stated FL law states that the company can collect fees in addition to what I owe. I.Q. Data international XXXX

You told them to stop contacting you, but they keep trying
Complaint: IQ Data International, Inc deliberately added a collection account of {$5100.00} on XX/XX/2017. The company will not verify the debt nor any information about the debt. Rather it engages in phone harassment by using auto-dial robots that immediately hang up once the person answers the phone. IQ Data International deliberately uses auto dialing robots to skirt Fair Debt Collection Practice Laws so no one will track down its customer service representatives and hold the company liable. IQ Data International has a bad reputation within the business community and among consumers. According to the XXXX XXXX XXXX there are currently five complaints about the billing and debt collections practices of IQ Data International ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). Additional websites, including those from attorneys, address the problematic nature of IQ Data International. Therefore, I'm cautious about negotiating any consumer debt with a company with negative reputation of hostility towards consumers.
