Complaint: The Law Firm of Hunt & Henriques have continue to harass me about a Debt that I do n't owe. They claim it was a judgement againt me since noted has been more that 10years old. I have notified them to cease and desist but they continue and it is causing me undue stress. I am in the process of hiring an attorney to exercise my rights undr the FDCA with fines for this unscrupolous harassment. I need this law Firm -Debt collection investigated and fined because they are violating the law. I never had any contractual agreement with this law firm. Complaint: I found out in XX/XX/XXXX I had judgement entered against me. I was not aware that judgement was entered in XXXX, I was never given court papers. It was explained to me I was served papers by substitution, that is not fair. I can not speak XXXX very well, but I was able to have a friend try to help me settle. They have raised the debt by way to much money and are not being cooperative in settling this debt for a fair amount, even though they never served me properly. I feel like I have been taken advantage of and now being forced to pay a large amount I can not afford.

Why would XXXX XXXX do something so careless other than to harass and abuse me? Please know I am a XXXX citizen. The file is too large to attached to the CFPB portal so I have enclosed a link for all the details. XXXX I am requesting that this issue be investigated by the Special Investigations Unit of the CFPB. I am no longer represented by an attorney. Why would any company do such a thing other than to violate the FDCPA, RFDCPA, and a whole slew of other laws. Their intent is clear that they wish to harass the XXXX.

Complaint: Good day. I reside in So XXXX and I have a civil court judgement for a defaulted credit card. This dates back to approx. XXXX. In XXXX the plaintiff attempted to levy my savings accnt at my credit union. I rec 'd guidance from the court 's self help clinic and submitted a claim of exemption stating my only income was from Social Security XXXX, VA benefits, and Gov't Pension, via direct deposit. The judge granted my exemption. I elected to have an additional credit union closer to home and had the VA benefits and Gov't Pension direct deposited there for convenience. Now, approx. 16 months later I receive a letter from the new credit union stating my entire accnt is frozen to satisfy a civil court judgement. I went down to them and explained my income in this accnt is protected from a civil judgement. I said there is no commingling of funds in my accounts. They stated they did not care and were going to follow the sheriff 's levy document. I stated they know where my income comes from as it is stated on the monthly statements. I stated, I believed they were violating Federal Law and state reg 's ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I finalized my brief meeting by stating that because of their reluctance to follow the law I am currently suffering damages that the credit union may be responsible for. I have since filled out the proper doc 's ( Claim Of Exemption and Financial Statement ) and submitted to the sheriff 's levy office.

I have requested several times to get original information about the debt which was XXXX XXXX, and I have also requested a break down of the original debt vs payments made, etc., and finally I have made several attempts to settle the balance and the company is uncooperative and does not give me any proof of balance or credits. Complaint: The four companies I am writing about have been relentless and dishonest in attempting to collect from me credit card debts that were generated during the XXXX economic meltdown. That is when the clock started. According to the statute of limitations in California where I reside, these debts are past the statute of limitations period of four years. I was informed on Wednesday that XXXX of these companies has obtained a judgment against me and will begin to garnish my wages effective XXXX XXXX, defying the laws of the state that clearly spell out that debt that is older than 4 years old can not be collected. These aggressive debt collectors have made it a mission to enforce debts that are barred by the statute of limitations. In good faith I negotiated with XXXX of the XXXX debt collecting companies a few years ago and I have been paying down this debt slowly. The other XXXX companies have been incessant in their continued pursuit. These are all open credit accounts debts and the debt collectors know that these debts are old and past the statute of limitations. They still proceeded to sue me. Now my professional reputation within the company I work for is very much negatively impacted, perhaps irreversibly. I have no idea what impact this wage garnishment issue will have on my future advancement chances and income earning potential. The imposed wage garnishment sums are so outlandish that I can not possibly stay financially viable ; I will crash. The XXXX meltdown had terrible financial repercussions on my family and I. When people around me were declaring Chapter XXXX bankruptcy, I stuck it out and fought back in order to pay back loans. My house went into foreclosure three times and three times I saved it from this fate by providing mountains of bank-requested documentation, many times the day before the house went to auction. I am very proud of having achieved this. Unfortunately some of my debts went without recourse and I lamentably could not pay them back. I achieved new and promising employment in XX/XX/XXXX and I was looking forward to a productive and contributory career advancement and now this. I find it appalling that the courts would allow for a lawsuit of this nature, in full knowledge that the cases fall outside of this state 's statute of limitations. My situation now is dire. After having fought back from the precipice more than once, I am besieged by an unlawful and unscrupulous turn of events. Mind you ; I successfully came back from the meltdown while dealing with both my mother and father 's illnesses and subsequent passing. I took care of them every day after work for four years. Would not have done it any other way. So kind folks, an act of XXXX brought me to your website. Your mission statement and goals are so worthy I can not begin to express my sentiments. Thank XXXX that a group like yours exists. Now, I ask for help. I am staring at a life ending on such a false note. Please help my family and I traverse this labyrinth and find true justice out of this terrible whirlwind. I thank you profusely from the bottom of my heart. Complaint: This debt collection law firm, sue me and won the case. My wages were garnished for 1 1/2 years, I believed ending in XXXX 2016. On XXXX XXXX, 2016 my wage garnishment started up again. I contact my employer and they said that it was sent a letter of an adjustment of my balance. The total amount that I owe in the lawsuit was {$10000.00} and my employer said that it was the same company that is taking the garnishment again. I contacted the Hunt & Henriques and I was told that it was fees and that my employer may have thought they have collected the total amount. I asked them what the amount was for and they just told me fees. The original amount of the lawsuit was paid off and they are now collecting more money for fees that was not on the original lawsuit amount and did not sent me notice or information on these additional fees of {$1000.00}. I have try to contact them and leave messages, but they have not contact me back. I have originally talk to representative name XXXX regarding the situation. He told me to call my employer about the start up on the garnishment, but my employer said that it was Hunt & Henriques that reissue that paperwork to my employer. I believe they are illegally charging fees on top of fees that are out side the lawsuit that was paid out. I have not contact a lawyer, but would like my money back for the garnishment they are taking out of fees that they did not disclosed to me. I believe if they are doing this illegally to me that they are doing this to other consumers.
