Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Medical debt

Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I received a bill from XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX Ohio XXXX. The bill was for an emergency department visit and XXXX at the XXXX Hospital by XXXX XXXX XXXX, MD. It stated that my son received the services XX/XX/2019. My son does not reside in the United States. I researched XXXX XXXX and found them to be a scam. I ignored the bill. They sent another bill a month later but then stopped sending them. On XX/XX/2019 I received a bill from Healthcare Revenue Recovery Group ( HHRG ) XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Florida XXXX. This bill shows the same service and cost as the one from XXXX XXXX. Interestingly enough, the payment would be mailed to the same address as XXXX XXXX : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Ohio XXXX. I researched HHRG and also found them to be accused of scams. I ignored the bill. I received another bill from HHRG on XX/XX/2019. At this point I started researching what to do about this problem. Then, on XX/XX/2019, I received a call from HHRG. The call registered as a local number on my caller ID. The representative did not identify themselves or the company until after I insisted. Then the person attempted to obtain personal information regarding my son and myself. I refused to provide information and told the person that I researched their company on the internet and with the XXXX and that this was a scam. I went on to say that the individual stated in the bill receiving services was not even in the United States and that the physician providing the said service did not work for or with the hospital that supposedly provided the service. Then, I went on to tell them to stop sending me bills and calling. The person then disconnected the call.

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: I requested the validation of debt with ARS. I recently received a letter back stating that they contacted their client and they verified the debt. And at the middle part of the letter, they listed out the debt, provider, amount of the bill and the date ( which clearly shows that the debt is out of the statute of limitations to collect. The does state that they will continue to report as delinquent on my credit report. The funny thing about this debt, Is I don't know any more about this debt and this collection company re-age it, so it looks like a brand new collection on my credit report!

Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: Hi, for the past 4 months I've been going back and forth the credit reporting agencies regarding these accounts in question and the reason for this is because I know that these accounts are being reported incorrectly. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 609 ) it is my right to challenge any account in my credit if I believe they are being reported inaccurate, unverifiable or incomplete. I believe they are and some of them have been corrected on some of the bureaus and some have not. I would like to make this complaint to show the level of urgency I have towards this matter. If you can please help I would really appreciate it. These accounts have to be deleted since they are holding my credit scores back and I'm looking to use my credit soon to make a major purchase. Thanks! ACCOUNT NAME : XXXX XXXX, ACCOUNT # : XXXX, DATE : XX/XX/XXXX, BALANCE : XXXX, REPORTING ON : XXXX, XXXX AND XXXX. Debt was paid
Complaint: Contacted a representative on XX/XX/XXXX regarding a letter received about a bill previously paid more than 2.5 years earlier. Informed rep bill from XX/XX/XXXX was paid in full on XX/XX/XXXX, confirmed by their records. Asked for explanation why adjustment was made on account that created new balance as of XX/XX/XXXX. Rep could not explain, advised to contact insurance. I stated wanted to dispute balance while reviewing with insurance, rep said to send letter but I declined as the letter received stated could call to dispute. Rep stated she would note file, then Rep disconnected call. Received new letter and contacted again on XX/XX/XXXX. Reviewed entire situation again with " XXXX ''. She advised I would need to send EOB showing balance paid, after I asked for explanation why there is a balance after it was paid 2.5 years ago. She could not answer, became patronizing, then hung up the call without providing requested information. HRRG continues to call daily despite efforts to inform them this is an administrative issue where I have the documentation that the bill was paid over 2 years ago.
