Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I am on income driven repayment plan, and is set for autopay. During this period I would make excess payment hoping it will be applied to my principal, but instead my provider kept on pushing the due date. Right now I am on paid ahead status according to them. When this came to my attention I tried contacting themseveral times through email requesting them to reallocate my excess payment to my principal with the highest interest instead of pushing my due date. They wo n't do it stating the payment has already been applied even though I do n't see any changes on my principal. I want CFPB help me resolve this issue. I feel I have the right to make the decision where my money is applied. Great lakes is my provider

Complaint: I had an issue with my Student loan in 2016 due to cause of my mother become very ill. I made a simple mistake of not having my loan in deferment but when I got wind of it. I addressed the problem as soon as possible. Its currently in good standing right now, but the issue is the late payments that have been added to my credit report. Complaint: I have a consolidation loan in normal repayment with loan servicer Great Lakes XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I 've paid ahead on the level repayment plan, more than twice the minimum payment due each month, since loan inception.
I have an automatic payment setup with direct draft from my checking account and this method has been in place as long this account has been in repayment. As a result I 've been entitled to an interest rate reduction of .025 % APR.
In XX/XX/XXXX 2017 I had to change the payment date on this automatic draft and I was directed to suspend the automatic payment as the only way to achieve this outcome. I made the minimum payment due for XX/XX/XXXX and changed the withdraw date ( changed from the XX/XX/XXXX of each calendar month to the XX/XX/XXXX ) one week later than it had been, previously.
Due to the suspension of automatic payment, which was resumed for the next month 's repayment, I lost the .025 % apr interest rate reduction.
Automatic payments were resumed less than a week after the initial contact made to change the date of withdraw. The loan servicer has not confirmed the discounted interest rate has been reinstated after re enrolling in automatic repayments.

Complaint: I have a student loan that has been serviced by Great Lakes.
In XX/XX/XXXX, my income driven repayment application was approved, and on XX/XX/XXXX, I made my first payment under IDR.
In XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted documentation that I work for a XXXX XXXX.
In early XX/XX/XXXX, I renewed by income driven repayment application. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received confirmation that I was approved.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I made a payment of {$500.00} to Great Lakes.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I got a notice from XXXX XXXX XXXX that they were now my servicer and that my account was delinquent. Evidently, when they transferred my loan from Great Lakes at the end of XX/XX/XXXX, they failed to transfer my last payment to Great Lakes. They also did not transfer any information about my income driven repayment plan.
I have repeatedly contacted Great Lakes and XXXX to find out how I can get my balance to reflect my XX/XX/XXXX payment. As it stands right now, my account is showing up as delinquent, even though I made a payment in XX/XX/XXXX. In addition, they 're claiming I 've only made 7 qualifying payments under PSLF, even though I 've been making payments early ever since going on the IDR plan. Every time I talk to XXXX, I get a different, albeit not helpful, response. No one seems to know where my last payment went and when it will be reflected. I am being penalized for XXXX 's mistakes.

Complaint: Because of mishandling of my information by XXXX, my loan went into default. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX stated that my loan was being handled by XXXX. After setting up a payment agreement with XXXX, I was told that after 9 payments, I was eligible for my loan to come out of default. After 9 payments, nothing happened. XXXX continued to deduct {$51.00} per month from my checking account by auto draft. These autodrafted checks are made out to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Trust Account and are cashed on a monthly basis. The account shown on the checks is XXXX. I have copies of these checks, front and back. To date, 44 checks have been deducted. That is nearly 4 years worth of payments. I have tried numerous times to get someone to send me paperwork to get these loans out of default. I utilized the XXXX database. It states my servicer is XXXX. The current lender is listed as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The current guaranty agency is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have contacted XXXX who tell me that they do not have the loan and to contact Great Lakes. I contact Great Lakes, and they tell me that XXXX has it. I contact XXXX, and no one returns my calls. On one occasion, when a call was returned, they left a voicemail with a call back number. That number was disconnected, and I tried numerous times. I then tried contacting XXXX and was put through to " XXXX XXXX, '' where I left a voice mail. There has been no call back. I want my loans out of default, and I want to be able to make steady payments on them or to go into XXXX, if appropriate, so that my loans are in good standing. I have attached copies of the last 18 months of copies of canceled checks that were made out and paid to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX via XXXX XXXX

Complaint: I tried to contact XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX of this year and requested proof that the bill was due. I was a student there from winter XX/XX/XXXX until Spring XX/XX/XXXX when the semester ended. I was not made aware of any other classes needed to be taken and was even allowed to get my unofficial and official transcripts sent to three other colleges I attended since then.
I was planning to attend a XXXX college this fall and to my surprise I could not get financial aid due to this issue. After speaking to the XXXX representative I was told a list of fees could be sent out to me yet I never received it. Then I reached out to Great Lakes where the loan was being collected and asked for a deferment form and it was not sent out either. So I contacted the Department of Education and asked for the signed promissory note. It came in the mail two weeks ago and while it had my name and a temporary address listed on the signature line my signature was not there only a host of letters and numbers.
