Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: I reached out to this company and credit bureaus to inform them all that this account was open fraudulently. I sent them certified letters on XX/XX/XXXX ; XX/XX/XXXX ; and XX/XX/XXXX. It is now XX/XX/XXXX. I sent the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and all 3 credit bureaus a copy of my police report, ID Theft Affidavit, ID, and my social security card. The company has not responded to any of my letter directly, which is a direct violation of the fair credit reporting act.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt was paid
Complaint: I was sent to the collection company Fair Collections and Outsourcing for an apartment residence I lived in 3 years ago. I was charged a 2 month penalty fee for leaving a lease early. I paid a debt of {$2900.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX in the form of a cashiers check that was express delivered with signature required by the USPS on Monday XX/XX/2018. The supportive documentation will show a conversation by myself and the VP of Property Management where they state they will " gladly write me a letter '' to say the balance is paid in full. This shows on my credit report as having this debt and it has prevented me from obtaining an apartment in XXXX where I reside. I am in need of an apartment immediately and I have been told by numerous rental companies that I can not rent without this being resolved. I took the necessary steps to correct this issue but I have not received the letter after several voicemails and emails were placed to XXXX XXXX. I feel this is not fair to punish me for something I have remedied. I can not make this company write me a letter and my only other option is to contact the credit bureau to show proof I have paid this. Please help me to clear this up as it is negatively affecting my current living situation, future, and credibility. Also this credit company FCO calls me approximately twice a day every single day of the week. When will all of this stop? The consequences of this have become detrimental to my life currently. I need something to be done.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt is not yours
Complaint: As previous dispute under complaint number XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2018 has left me in total disbelief that a company that I have had no business with is claiming that I owe a balance of nearly {$6900.00}. Fair Collections & Outsourcing sent a package to me which they stated was the full validation that I owe this balance. This contract had no mention of their client XXXX XXXX and nowhere in it does it state that I have any obligation to them. They failed to provied me with any contract or signed agreement which enters this company and I into business that nor places me in ownership of this debt. Yes, Fair Collections & Outsourcing as you have stated in your response, I have made multiple identical requests in past for validation of this account and because you have failed to provide me with this validation I am now demanding it from your clients XXXX XXXX. Your Reasonable Investigation Notice states that you sent me verification on the XX/XX/XXXX and you stated that you found the account to be reported correctly and that you will continue to report it. You further state that the report date was XX/XX/XXXX which is correct. I also see it reported on my credit file accessed XX/XX/2018 thank you for your one truth but that does not impend me exercising my rights to all docmentation ; contracts or agreement that states that XXXX XXXX and I, XXXX XXXX XXXX have or have had a contract bound by law which makes me responsible for any debt presumed owed to XXXX XXXX. It is my right pursuant to the FDCPA to question the validity of this information you have yet to produce. I make this my last attempt to acquire validation and if it is not recieved I will take steps to file a small claims suit against XXXX XXXX AND FAIR COLLECTIONS & OUTSOURCING for damages due to willful non compliance and damages per violation. This entire matter has caused me stress and emotional distress which is reflecting on my health and I would gladen the opportunity to file a default of debt validation against this company who have failed to verify this debt. I have yet to see any documentation ; contracts or agreement between myself and XXXX XXXX.

False statements or representation

Debt collection: I do not know

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: I looked at my credit report and found out there was an account opened I had an issue about because the amount owed is incorrect. So i called the company holding the account and explained to them the amount listed on my credit report is double of what it should be because theres 2 names in court records attached to the bill owed so my responsibility for the bill is only 50 % which they admitted they knew that there was another party involved in this account and on the other persons credit report the same amount is also owed which is actually the debt collector attempting to collect double the balance owed on the entire debt. Then they proceeded to tell me they would give me a 50 % discount on paying my bill off not sure how there math works but here is how my math breaks down. balance owed in total : {$1000.00} my responsibility according to court records 50 % : {$510.00} inclueded 50 % discount to pay off the bill to the creditor {$510.00} The reason why its wrong is because there are 2 names attached to the same account 2 different credit reports showing the same exact amount owed in total amount be {$2000.00} when the actual amount is only {$1000.00}. Now what happens when i go to pay the bill because were not married say I pay the bill entirely at {$1000.00} which is the full amount owed the other party doesn't know I payed and its still on there report they pay the bill owed also the reporting company gets double owed amount because when reported on each parties credit report its the entire bill owed not the 50 % responsibility that each party has. How is this considered correct because if my responsibility is 50 % owed then my credit report should show {$510.00} and the other party should show the same and if the reporting agency was going to give me 50 % off then my bill should had been {$250.00} not {$510.00} id like to know how an entire bill is attached to both parties and being said this amount is owed by both parties when both parties are actually only responsible for 50 % of the bill and both credit reports show full amounts thats incorrect information 2 parties 2 bills not 2 parties the same bill twice it makes no sense.
