Complaint: I submitted proof of payment for a check that was accepted by XXXX XXXX to Equifax, the check had a restrictive endorsement statement on it. The statement said " cashing means an agreement to permanently remove account from my credit report ''. Instead of Equifax removing the account, they updated the balance of the account and did not investigate the actual dispute, which was that the account must be removed, since the check was accepted for payment.

News was released that some equifax managers committed insider trading meaning they sold stock before the information about the data breach was made public. I then understand the company is run by greedy XXXX who do n't invest in good security and am glad data breach happened just not glad my info could have been stolen. I used equifaxes website to see if I was affected and got back a maybe so I planned to sign up to use their free 6 month credit check however these XXXX will waive your right to be apart of a class action law suit against them if you do use their service. I plan on using free services to avoid identity theft and will enjoy seeing how much this company will XXXX in the coming months.
