Complaint: I have a credit card that is open with you all. While I initially thought you all were a good fit, yall have been nothing more than a headache for me and my family. First when making my second payment, discover had it marked on their site that I wanted the full payment made. This put me in a tight spot and roo all of my funds out of my account and sent me into overdraft. I was livid and called and spoke to 2 supervisors, none of them helpful at all in fact they told me maybe qe could go qithout groceries or not leave the house so we were not using gas. I had just found out I was pregnant and lost my job all in the same day. I was really reassured I would have better service seeing my husband has had great experiences. Unfortunately, I had to call my bank and cancel the payment, which made it seem like I was late. I called Monday and made my payment but they persisted I pay XXXX. I said no, finally the rep said we will help you with this and dont worry. So the next month it still shows I have a late fee then this month I got an email saying I was late again. After speaking to a rep at the end of XX/XX/XXXX who again assured me no your payment will only be the XXXX and change payment. But no, I got a passed due bill last night. You guys are fraud and phoneys!! Im taking this to XXXX as well as my local TV station and will blast yall anywhere else. No-one gets back

Complaint: I purchased a set of wheels for my XXXX in XXXX of this year. The wheels arrived damaged, I sent them back. The reshipped me the wheels only to arrived damaged again. The business asked me to send them back yet again. They provided me with shipping kabels which I attached to each of the 4 boxes and sent back to the conpany on XX/XX/2018. After the company received the wheels back they refused to refund my money. I contacted Discover Card which I used to purchased the wheels and started the claim. I provided the tracking info which showed the merchandise was returned and signed for. after 60 days Discover denied my claim stating no return proof. I called and spoke with a supervisor and provided the tracking info again, even uploading it to their website. They assured me that was all they needed. Fast forward to The end of XXXX and they reverse the charge again, i call yet again and again they claim i never provided proof of the return. Its clearly on the Discover website under uploaded documents. Now since it has been more than 120 days the tracking links are now dead, as XXXX only keeps records for 90 days. I spoke to the corporate office of XXXX who stated they cpuld see where back in may the tracking had been verified by a manager during my call, they would take care of it. I receuved a phine call today from them stating they are not revera8ng the charhe and I now owe XXXX for a product i sent back 6 months agao and I shpuld call the merchant and resolve it with them. They now are expecting me to pay {$4000.00} to them for something I semt back 6 minths ago!

Complaint: I sent a foreign check in the amount of XXXX Euros to my Discover Bank checking account after confirming multiple times in multiple instances that they were able to provide such a service. I was told from the very beginning that the check would take 6-8 weeks upon receipt to clear and deposit. I was also told after I signed up for my checking account that foreign checks were sent to another bank for processing. Didn't seem like a problem at the time so I sent the check to address Discover Bank provided me with and they sent me a letter confirming that they have received on XX/XX/2018. Today is XX/XX/2018, way past the 8th week mark, and I have yet to see a change in my account balance. I've spoken with numerous customer service representatives, including 4 supervisors/tier-2 representatives, who have given me different vague and 'customer-friendly ' versions of " we have no idea where this check went ''. I've been told they have started an investigation and are researching into the issue for the past month and there's still no real status update other than we're investigating into the matter. I have spent an unreasonable amount of time and energy contacting Discover. In addition, it sets a standard of distrust ( whether by incompetency of malice ) that these supervisors set up callback appointments and then receiving no phone call, nor any response, at the times promised. Due to the service I've received from this institution I foresee no restitution or acknowledgment of incompetency and failure on Discover 's part to provide with the service I've agreed to enroll for.

Complaint: I had a Discover card opened in XXXX, and it was closed in XXXX. I was XXXX to XXXX, and the debt was charged off. I received a Form XXXX Cancellation of Debt over 9 yrs later added to my XXXX taxes. It was not sent in earlier years but tacked on at the last minute nor was I notified of this except from the IRS. Now it is XXXX, and I am still trying to get a letter to the IRS from Discover card that the error was on them and it should have been sent earlier. Discover card is not cooperating and I have tried to reach out to the management and have been told numerous times that they are not available.

Complaint: Hello, I have recently submitted a complaint through the CFPB in regards to case XXXX. I am being held liable for a fraud on the basis that someone took my phone and used my e-mail to try and do multiple fraudulent transactions. The basis of their action is that the signature matched a previous fraud claim which I withdrew because I knew the perpetrator. The problem with that is that they will not show me the signature, and also because I don't know how they could possibly find that given that I've shopped at the XXXX XXXX and they are one of the few shops that make you sign with your finger and not with a pen or kiosk. I have read multiple things online and I have heard that Discover is infamous for siding with the merchants. Having them answer my complaint with a canned response telling me that I'm screwed even though I have proof of where I was when the transaction took place, as well as the fact that I have proof that my phone was stolen and my computer was compromised is quite ridiculous. I will not pay a single dime towards something that I did not purchase. Please advise me of my options as I will be hiring a lawyer.

Complaint: This is in regards to my Discover credit card. It has a limit of {$7400.00}. My current balance is {$7200.00}. My total credit card debt is over {$15000.00}. I am currently unemployed and I am pursuing a different career path to better take care of my family. I have a son who is almost XXXX and a fiance. At my previous job of 6 years I was only making {$16.00} per hour or about {$35000.00} per year which ended in the middle of XX/XX/XXXX. I am currently cashing out my 401k to pay off some of these debts which is about {$18000.00}. Most of this debt came from the past 3-5 years. After our son was born, my fiance, did a 2 year XXXX XXXX at a local XXXX college. I paid for almost all expenses while she was in school. We didn't qualify for anything more than XXXX ( in Wisconsin ) as secondary insurance for our son. This kind of economic condition resulted in my current situation. I will take part responsibility as I could of been more careful with money. Back to Discover, I had submitted a secure message on XX/XX/XXXX through their website under the topic of " credit assistance request. '' Asking for help to remedy my situation and that I was exploring bankruptcy options at this time. I also included some details on my situation such as currently unemployed. I also opted out of automatic payments through this same message. The payments are scheduled on or around the XXXX of every month. I requested that the email me or send a secure message through the site and that we could schedule a phone call as it would be easier for me. These automatic payments have been going on for over 3 years now for the minimum payment amount. To my surprise, they still haven't gotten back to me and it's a good thing I had enough money to cover the payment from my last paycheck.

Complaint: Issues with Discover Price Protection Claim. I purchased a TV on XX/XX/XXXX for {$1300.00} using Discover Credit card with an online retailer. I noticed the same item was on sale on XX/XX/XXXX for {$1100.00} through a different online retailer. Rather than returning and re-buying, I decided to use the Price Protection benefit offered by Discover Credit card for the difference in the prices which is {$250.00}. For this claim I submitted the following documents as requested by the Discover Benefits XXXX following all directions correctly. 1. The Sale receipt showing the price I paid ( {$1300.00} ). 2. Credit Card Statement from Credit Card showing that I used their card for purchase. 3. Lower-Price Ad ( Screen shot or scanned copy of advertisement showing the lower price ) - I submitted the screen shot showing the date that the item sale price. I have 90 days to submit the claim. I submitted within the first month all the above. Now the Discover Benefits center is not processing my claim telling that items are missing. They sent an email saying this, " We were unable to verify the advertised sale price. Please submit verification of the sale price. The verification may be a written statement from the store manager on store letterhead, email, or chat session including item number, description, date, lower price and contact number '' If they required such things to process their Price Protection claim they should have mentioned these list in the first place. In terms and conditions they have not mentioned the requirement of any of these. Now dating back I am not able to get the online vendor to verify the price for me. There is no use for me to resubmit the Price Protection with the same or different vendor as the prices have gone back up to {$1300.00}. Although this Price protection feature is going to be discontinued from XX/XX/XXXX, I will be very reluctant to use any of the benefits that a credit card claims. Talking to the Discover Benefits center customer service or manager did not help as they keep repeating the same thing that they could not verify the price that I claim as they do not trust the screen shot from my computer. In that case they should not have the ask for screen shot to process the claim if you do not trust it. I am extremely unhappy about the way Discover is handling price protection claims.

Complaint: I have an issue with Discover Student Loans. They have misrepresented my loan and the amount owed to the credit reporting agencies by claiming I had over 6,000 dollars of principle added to my account an have placed over 5,000 dollars of interest that were supposed to go to the principle balance. My loan was for XXXX and I paid back over 24,000 dollars. In my billing statements Discover reported that I paid XXXX dollars in principle and over 10,000 in interest which would have put my principle amount owed to XXXX. They were reporting that I owed over {$18000.00} with about {$14000.00} still remaining on principle. I sent in certified letter on XX/XX/XXXX to Discover Student loans to find out where this error came from as I never did a refinancing loan ( consolidation or rehabilitation, etc. ) with there company and asked them to provide proof if I did so. In addition, I told them I wanted a hard copy of my contract with them for review. They did not respond to my letter. I called their company on XX/XX/XXXX and during the conversation the representative said, they received my letter and will sent me the requested documents to the address I gave in the letter. They did not sent out contract and documents requested. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Discover Student Loans again and asked them to receive a hard copy of my contract I signed to obtain my student loan with then and any documents saying I asked for additional funding for my student loan. I asked them directly do they have any documents stating where the extra XXXX dollars of principle came from. They said they did not know, and that it could have been a glitch in their database as they had no records of why my principle amount was altered. They said they would send me my contract in the mail again for my review and would looked in to rectifying this problem. I told them to mark my account as disputed to the credit reporting agencies until this issue was completed. The representative said it would take 3 days to go into affect. After checking my credit reports ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX ) and not seeing that this account was mark as disputed, nor reviving any information from Discover on this matter, I sent in a second letter which they had to signed for on XX/XX/XXXX demanding a hard copy of my contract with their company and to have the account mark as disputed or be in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act 623 after I told them that the account must be reported as disputed. I have repeatedly asked them to show the evidence that I owed XXXX dollars to them and they have chosen to ignore responses and violate the Fair Credit Reporting Act

I did make that payment When I got home on XX/XX/XXXX I did call Discover at XXXX and spoke with Lea and she stated there was no outstanding debt. I than called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and ask for the paperwork be emailed to me and the lady I talked to stated she would email it, what they emailed was a bill .. So I called back and spoke to XXXX and he stated they couldnt resend it out.

Complaint: I noticed on my statement charges from a store called XXXX XXXX. I did not make these charges and disputed them with Discover whom I have been a great customer with them. Discover denied my claim because The card was not stolen for good. However the card was stolen to be used by someone and then placed back in my belongings. I can not tell you who stole my card and used it because I work for XXXX XXXX and work with XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX. I am a XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX as well as in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and then XXXX XXXX. It is a really high pace agency and Many people going in and out. We also do not have cameras set up in every room. I honestly do not know who my card was taken and used but I know that I did not make these charges. I do very well to keep my credit in good standing and make my payments. I pay for what I use. Discover said I was lying and denied any help. I can not release my Clients name nor can I accuse any of them. I have to learn not to be so trusting but we are trying to help rebuild these children. I have now since changed my way of bringing my personal property into agency but I would like to think they company I trust to have credit with would back up what they say they stand for before you sign the credit agreement. I would hope they would trust me and have my back especially since I feel I am a good customer. I would like for these charges for XXXX XXXX to be removed so I Can pay off the balance. My home was destroyed in Hurricane Florence and I have a lot of rebuilding to do and financially I am hurting and do not have money to just throw away. I can not stay with a company that will not have my back and I can not sit back and keep quiet about the lack of compassion or help. I do not want to have to close my card but I will and take my money somewhere else.
