Complaint: I overpaid Discover Student Loan Services ( {$2000.00} ) and have been getting the run around trying to get a refund. It 's been over 70 days since I gave them notification ( e-mail and I have a solid paper trail ) and I continually get " the check is in the mail ''. Any suggestions?

Trouble with how payments are handled
Complaint: Discover Bank. I was double charged on my first student loan payment ( I am already paying them 35 % of my monthly income ). Customer service seemed confused and insisted that they could not help me and that I needed to work with my bank that the double charge was being pulled from. I am already financially thinned out because Discover does not deal in income based repayment plans, and I am now at risk of having a " Late '' status on my account due to their mistakes. This may reduce my chances of refinancing elsewhere. Customer service needs to read the notes on the account prior to trying to understand the situation and further confuse the customer. XXXX of the XXXX agents I spoke to was rude and demeaning. Wasted my time.

Complaint: Once before I had called Discover to have them lower my interest rates and was told that they can lower the rate to 13 % and as a result, my account will be put in a suspension status for a year and so I took the offer. I have my account setup for automatic debit for the last few years so I have an excellent record of paying my bill on time with them. A year passed and they removed the suspension and the 19 % apr returned. I once again took advantage of this offer again last year, it will expire in about a 2 weeks so I called Discover and asked them if I can be dropped early without any penalties, because I needed to use my card to make a large purchase. I was told that it should n't be a problem and I should be able to use my card. I tried to use my card but it kept getting declined so I called Discover to find out why it was being declined and was told that it is still suspended. I was also told that it will remain suspended until it is goes for review. I thought that once the offer expired my account will return to the way it was previously. Now I was n't told about this but of course they send everything in writing. I guess I am a little upset that these credit card companies have so much power and control to withhold credit just because I tried to get them to lower the large apr on my account. Not only that, they have easy access to my credit reports which I am starting to be suspicious of now. I would like to know if that is allowed and what can I do to remove my information from Credit Reporting Agencies completely.

Complaint: My card was closed because I filed an excessive number of disputes. What would be considered an excessive was never disclosed anywhere. They also said I did n't submit information with disputes, where most of the time I did, but the times I did n't were because I wasnt able to. There were also errors made in how they dealt with me asking for information in reguard to a transaction from a merchant. They considered that a dispute and ultimately used that to close my account. And they will not let me reach out to anybody else. Please note I have also recorded the call where they admitted all of this.

Complaint: I disputed a transaction because I received a faulty product from XXXX XXXX. XXXX admitted the product was faulty. They refunded my money after refusing to refund me when i went into the store initally. It was a huge ordeal, but they finally refunded it after acknowledging the product was in fact, faulty as received. This product happeend to be a computer component that ended up damaging another component ( that was also purchased from XXXX ). I went into XXXX and told them what happened and that the product was damaged by their faulty equipment in the first place. They refused to refund me my money even though they h ave a policy regarding defective equipment ( it is not barred from refunds ). After they refused to refund me for the piece of equipment that I bought from them that their intially purchased product damaged, I submitted a dispute to Discover Card. Discover closed the dispute in my favor a couple of weeks later. I have the documentation of this. A couple weeks after taht, I received an email stating that they reversed the credit because XXXX XXXX " disputed '' it through them. They gave me an opportunity to present my documentation in response to XXXX dispute. Or so I thought. I spent hours drafting my respoonse and getting a witness statement because everything that the XXXX manager that I dealt with and that drafted the response to Discover Card said, was a blatant lie. I faxed my documentation in the same day and I spoke to discover today who still is refusing to protect me and the purchase. At this point, XXXX refuses the refund even though it is within their policy. Discover Card is gave me the opportunity to present my evidence which I did, but they are n ow completely overlooking it, and I am out over {$200.00} for a computer component that does nto work due to the original XXXX component damaging it. This is not fair. Discover said that they wil lnot take any of my statements into considersation simply because of the response they received from frys. I want to know how this is fair to a consumer to have a manager make up lies and have those hold water over their " valued '' cardmember 's statement ( and a witness statement ) and other supporting documents. My complaint is towards DiscoverCard in not accepting my rebuttal or evidence to approve my dispute.

Complaint: Discover bank offered a promotion of {$300.00} to ALL customers who set up a new discover checking account, if they had a previous relationship with Discover, and had XXXX direct deposits come in of at least {$250.00} within 60 days of opening up the account. ( they later changed the terms, however stated since I opened my account before the change, I was grandfathered into the promotion ) Their terms stated that the bonus would be " automatically '' applied 30 days after fulfilling their requirements. However, it has now been more than 30 days since I had the XXXX direct deposits go into the account, and no bonus has been applied to my account. Discover Bank has violated the terms of their agreement, and has not paid out the {$300.00} that was guaranteed by the bank. I would like my {$300.00} bonus to be paid out immediately.
