Complaint: I have a Discover student loan current under repayment. The loan has been constantly increasing the APRs that are now around 9 % and the minimum payment is coming to a total of {$1600.00} per month. The company was providing me with a lower monthly payment ( {$1200.00} ) that was basically only paying the monthly interest but not decreasing the total debt at all which is extremely frustrating but at least I was being able to keep the payments on time. They have stopped the lower payment option and have demanded me to pay the total minimum of {$1600.00} since XX/XX/XXXX when I was told that after paying 6 full payments they would be able to lower the interest rates for 12 months, thus allowing the minimum payment to decrease to relieve some student loan burden. With the payment of this month ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I have now completed the 6 months full payment as they have requested and now after contacting them to get the 12 month lower interest rate, I'm being informed that I have no options available to me anymore and I either continue to pay the full amount or apply for forbearance which will only complicate things since it will only make the minimum payment much higher. All my student loans combined already come to a total amount of {$1800.00} which corresponds to more than 50 % of my monthly salary. I would love to pay the entire amount or even more to get rid off this debt as soon as possible, but right now I just can't. I don't have the financial means to keep up with such a high bill. I still have to pay for other expenses that are necessary for my personal well being such as rent, utilities, food ... Discover has no interest in helping whatsoever even though they have already made tons of money on interests alone. The United States government should start a comprehensive investigation against this company which has been exploiting students all over the country.

Complaint: Been getting more calls and letters from Credit card companies and/or their lawyer that I never had credit with clamming that I owe them {$3000.00} to {$7000.00} for monies transfered to a discover bank account that I do not have,,,,, This XXXX have been going on for over 6 yeas now!!!! When I called Discover they would just say computer error or hacker " we take care of ''. They have total recked my credit. I can not refinance my home, MY home owners insurance and car insurance is higher, They have coat me over {$50000.00} not counting the money they had transfered to their fake accounts!!!!!

Complaint: Discover Card.
Ordered cell phone from XXXX that had an incorrect web description. XXXX C/S told me within 8 hours of placing the order to order the correct phone and refuse the original shipment as they refused to cancel 1st order ( with no cost to me ). Was to get credit for {$570.00} within 4 days. Phone was refused and returned per XXXX 10 days ago. No credit. Second order for correct phone was received and billed to card as XXXX suggested.
Opened dispute with Discover Card. Discover is refusing to issue temporary credit and blames the CFPB ( after I threatened to file a claim ) ... stating that CFPB regulation is why the inquiry was put on hold. Further, Discover communicated NOTHING about the dispute. Nothing on my account web page, no response to secure emails and customer service has no answers ( even after speaking to a supervisor in Delaware office ). I have everything in writing from XXXX and shared with Discover during the dispute process.
Discover refuses to issue temporary credit!! I never received the goods I was charged for due to no fault of my own. I should have received this credit immediately! I want my credit!!

Complaint: OnXX/XX/XXXXand onXX/XX/XXXXmy Discover Credit card was charged at 6 different locations. On XX/XX/XXXXthere were charges in XXXX XXXX NY for {$51.00}, at XXXX XXXX NY for {$5.00}, and two charges at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NY for {$18.00} and of {$13.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX there were charges at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ny for {$710.00}, at XXXX XXXX CA for {$11000.00}, and a charge at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NY for {$17.00}. I did not make those charges they were all fraudulent charges. I have proof of XXXX ticket that i was away in XXXX WI XX/XX/XXXXat XXXX XXXX, and I came backXX/XX/XXXX to XXXX NY where is reside. Few days later i realized there were charges on my account and I called to Discover Card to notify them that I didn't not make these charges. I was told that my account will be closed, i was also told by Discover that someone called and changed the phone number on the account, to which i explained that i did not do it and that I still have the same phone number as before. Discover took off the charges from my account, then put them back on saying that they are conducting the investigation. They told me to pay minimum payments until the whole situation is settled, so my credit score is not going to go down, and for 5 months i kept doing that. They told me that once we settle the case we will give you the money back from those minimum payments. I was told to make a police report that i did at a police precinct near my house. During all this time i kept in touch with Discover credit Card and the Fraud Department offering my help, proof, or any other information. My case was closed and they told me that i was responsible for the charges, without explaining and giving me any information. I tried to reopen the case and my investigator at the precinct kept threatening me that he will put me to jail, and telling me to speak to Discover. Discover Fraud department was telling me to speak to the investigator, so i was being thrown around without anyone telling me what is happening. In addition to that i never had a chance to speak to the investigator and explain my side of the story. I also tried to send in all the necessary proof to show that i didn't not make those charges but Discover Card refused to take a look at them. I was told that they are waiting for subpoena. This lasted for about a year and a half and I didn't get any info from Discover or from investigator. In XX/XX/XXXX i was told that my investigator was changed twice without notifying me and the case was closed and Discover refuses to speak to me.
I was told that he highest charge from the XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$11000.00} was also delivered to my address, but I never received anything and never signed for it. I tried to show proof to Discover that my signature does not match, that on the day of delivery i was not home and that i have proof where I was and who is was with. Besides that 4 charges on XX/XX/XXXXwere made in XXXX NY and I was in XXXX WI.
I don't know what to do, i am hopeless and helpless. I have huge debt on my card that i did not purchase, my credit score dropped and no one gives me any information as to what is happening and what to do next.
I will submit all the proof that i have.

Frequent or repeated calls
Complaint: Daily for the last couple months over been receiving calls from discover. Every time I answer there is no response on the other line or machine recording or anything. Ive been on average receiving about 30 calls from this same number a day often times many back to back and has resulted in me needing to block the number through my XXXX XXXX XXXX call protect due to me needing to be available to take calls at both of my jobs and the harassing calls leading to me having issues at work.
The video attached shows me scrolling through the calls all from this same number just from the last day and a half. Also discover somehow acquired my parents phone number and has been calling and harassing them every morning when they work nights, they have absolutely nothing to do with me debt.

Complaint: I have been paying from XX/XX/XXXX each month towards the settlement amount. Today, I called them to verify how much balance is left towards the settlement amount. They said I broke the settlement by missing the payment in XX/XX/XXXX. I checked with my bank account and verified it was paid. Then I called them to inform this and this time they said it was XX/XX/XXXXpayment I missed. Again, I checked with my bank and it was paid. Every month it was paid and never missed a payment. I have the proof from my bank it was cashed each month. They never sent me statements to reflect the balance. I need this to be resolved ASAP.

Complaint: My husband passed away on XX/XX/XXXX leaving behind a Discover account that was for his business use. I provided Discover with a death certificate and they switched his account to my name, although I had not opened nor signed for the account. I have spent 16 months trying to work with them and eventually turned it over to my attorney, at an additional expense to my family, when the correspondence and phone calls became harassing. Discover has been unable to prove it is my account because it is not. Other creditors offered their condolences and immediately resolved the matter once they were informed of XXXX ' passing. I have spent countless hours with Discover while grieving and attempting to help our children. I am respectfully requesting that Discover remove my name from XXXX account and remove the account from my credit report. My attorney has requested numerous times that documentation be provided that it is my account and Discover is unable to do so. It has been 16 months and the matter needs to be resolved as quickly as possible please. The most recent correspondence from Discover is date XX/XX/XXXX and says that another investigation is happening.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, a savings account was opened with {$25000.00} deposit into a Bank with the promise that I would receive an interest rate of 1.5 % and a bonus for depositing that amount of {$200.00}. At the time of opening I did not have the code, but the person opening the account said that it was not necessary, for she could verify the code number. In subsequent calls, the bank was provided with the code. Shortly after that, my wife also opened an account, and also made a deposit of {$25000.00}, but with the understanding by the bank that this deposit would not interfere with my earlier deposit. In a few days my wife 's account was credited with the {$200.00}. My account to date has still not received the bonus, despite numerous calls, talks with supervisors, and always with the statement by them that they are researching the account. One supervisor said that the research would be done by XX/XX/XXXX. On a call on XX/XX/XXXX, the representative said that he sees the notes, the fact that the code was provided, and that the person who made that statement was unavailable. On multiple occasions, we also told the bank that if there is a problem with both names appearing on either account, they can just remove the joint name. I was told this was not the problems. The person on that date promised me a call back on Monday, No call was ever received.

Complaint: DISPUTE CASE # XXXX {$150.00} I placed an order with a merchant when I received the order one of the shirts were too small and the other items had gotten wet they were damaged I don't know if it was water or what it was but they arrived at my home wet I immediately followed all the merchants return procedures and began to return the merchandise with their shipping label they received the merchandise and have been giving me the run-around ever since this is when I turn to discover to help me get my money back I've given discover the information that they've asked for they have the tracking information I explained in detail what had happened and I even sent a follow-up email to discover adding a little bit more information instead of just taking that information they told me I needed to call or I needed to mail it in there's nothing really to mail-in I'm just giving you more information I'm giving you my account of what happened we've gone back and forth discover and I it shouldn't be this difficult just to give them information I mean so far they've done nothing my most recent email came from a woman named XXXX she informed me that she closed my case because she saw a credit on my account from the merchant the trouble with that is she didn't bother to really pay attention there were two separate transactions with this Merchant two separate orders that have absolutely nothing to do with one another the refund she seemed has to do with the original order again not disputing that order don't have any problems with that order on the other hand the other order is the order I'm having issues with in the one that I attempted to dispute I would love for somebody tell me why XXXX closed my case I can't help but wonder if it's because she's not paying attention to get rid of me that you didn't bother to see that that credit had absolutely nothing to do with my dispute terrible customer service XXXX clearly needs some more training

Problem during payment process
Complaint: OnXX/XX/XXXX I electronically paid my Discover card in full, {$5900.00} as I always do every month.. On XX/XX/XXXX I had a purchase declined and then again onXX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Discover card to find out why. They told me they had never received my payment.I verified with my bank that it had been paid, received by Discover card and processed. When I told Discover they said again they had not received payment. After much time and frustration on hold, Discover card said they had applied my payment to another old Discover card of mine which THEY had closed over a year ago because of what they said they needed because of possible breach and potential fraud. When I asked them to transfer the payment to my current card, they said they could not do that. They told me they needed to send me a check which would take abut 5-7 days. In the mean time they said I needed to pay the credit card bill and they WOULD TRY, to take care of any interest or penalty when they received my new payment. Really? The main thing that upsets me about this is they never send me a late notice or anything, they just put a hold on my account which is very embarrassing as a business owner when I am trying to pay for services. I have outstanding payment history with Dicover card as well as all other account I have. I have excellent credit, XXXX credit score last time I looked. When I told them that I wanted all this noted on my account and any negative credit to be addressed. All they told me about the incident is, MISTAKES HAPPEN. Would they accept this answer from me. I think not!
