Complaint: This is the letter I sent the collection agency, which explains the issue : XXXX XXXX, 2016 Credence XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX : INVALID COLLECTION CLAIMS FOR XXXX XXXX XXXX To whom it may concern : Last month, I was told I had to pay my overdue XXXX XXXX XXXX bill in order for my service, which was turned off, to be restored. I paid {$250.00}, which XXXX person told me was the amount due, but my service was not restored. When I called back, I was told that that money was used to pay for an old bill and that I still owed more money. Nobody could tell me what the {$250.00} went to, and my service was never restored.
I did not owe anything on any " old '' bill. XXXX XXXX XXXX would not have issued me a new phone and phone number if I still owed money on an old bill.
But it appears that my {$250.00} went to pay that non-existent old bill. I believe this is so because in XXXX, I got a bill from Credence, offering to settle a {$250.00} bill for {$100.00}. Assuming that this was an overdue notice letter for my then-current bill, I ignored it, as I 'd just paid that bill. I did n't notice whether the amount listed was the same as I 'd just paid. I just assumed any discrepancy was an error. Now, as I look at that XXXX letter, I see it has an old account number, XXXX, for an account that had long been paid in full and on which I owed nothing -- certainly not {$250.00}.
Today, I got a new letter ( enclosed ) stating that I owe an additional {$470.00}, again, with no explanation of what this bill is for, but with my current account number, XXXX. It would be impossible for me to owe this amount, as I just paid {$250.00}, which I was led to believe was going toward the payment of my current account. Also, my phone has been turned off for a month, and I did n't owe this much previously.
XXXX XXXX XXXX must prove that I owe the money it claims I owe. I dispute both amounts.
I would like to resolve this amicably, but to be on the safe side, I 'm forwarding all this information to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Talked to a third party about my debt
Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX turned over a {$35.00} final bill to Credence Resource Management LLC, Phone Number XXXX without sending me any notice of intent to send to collection. I am not disputing the fact that I owed the {$35.00} which has been paid to XXXX XXXX XXXX. My complaint is the improper contact and sharing information with someone else by Credence Resource Management LLC. They sent a letter to my son in another city, never mailed me a letter to my address that was provided to them by XXXX XXXX XXXX. My son called Credence Resource Management LLC. and they discussed the collection matter with him and told him they got his address by doing a skip trace, found his address and sent the letter to his address. Credence Resource Management LLC confirmed to my son that they had my address on file. but did not send the letter to me. I contacted Credence Resource Management LLC. spoke with a supervisor who identified himself as XXXX. He confirmed that the letter was sent to my son at his address and not sent to the address provided by XXXX XXXX XXXX which is my address.. I feel that my privacy has been violated.

Debt is not mine
Complaint: I have been receiving calls for years from debt collectors looking for XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, or other given names with the surname of XXXX ( I am unsure if that is the correct spelling ). I had one call yesterday and two calls today. With the second phone call today I became billergerent and demanded that I be given the phone number that this person was calling from. That demand usually is met with a hangup, but this time I was given a number and informed that the company name was Credence Resource Management. My current number was originally unlisted and I listed it again over a year ago in the false hope that these calls would stop. I did state to the individul who called that if they would google the number they would see my name and not the : XXXX '' and that I would be filing a complaint.

Contacted employer after asked not to
Complaint: Credence Resource Management has called me repeatedly at my place of employment after I have asked them to remove my work number from their call database. The representative continues to try to talk to me and sometimes escalate their voice trying to talk over me.
In addition, the representative asks me to confirm personal information prior to disclosing the company in which they are calling from and about.
Not only is this annoying, it seems to be a violation of my rights.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: I was contacted by a couple different collection agencies. Unfortunately I was not aware of the difference at the time because the representatives who contacted me spoke in a mumbled voice and had heavy accents. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX stated that I owed them {$2000.00} on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I spoke to them on the phone several times however we did not reach an agreement for the settlement. I continued to be contacted, unaware of the new agency, and continued to try to settle. At this time I was being contacted by XXXX who started to contact me on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX in reference to the same account number. Finally on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I reached a settlement with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to pay my account number XXXX. I received a paid in full receipt and the agreement in writing. The original debt was still the " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' debt I was talking to them about this whole time. Well when I check my credit report I was sent to collections by " Credence '' for the " Key Vaca Physicians '' debt which I thought I had settle earlier that month. XXXX XXXX told me specifically that I was paying my debt from the " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' in full with them in the amount agreed upon. I did not know that part of the debt had been forwarded elsewhere, and they tricked me into believing that I was cleared out this debt in full. Had I known this I would of continued to try to settle the debt.

Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: Credence Resource Managment sent me a collection letter. I have never heard of them nor do I owe them any debt. I am disputing their attempt to collect an alleged debt under the FDCPA. I also do n't want any further communication from them, written, phone nor any other means. When speaking with them they become deceptive and hostile in falgrant violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
