Complaint: A portion of my medical bill was sent to the California Business Bureau and I reached out to the company to find around {$80.00} dollars in interest fees were charged to my account. I was seeking to have the policy and/or information containing the companies legal right to charge interest on a medical bill sent to me. The Vice President continued to tell me it was her legal right to charge interest. I again asked her to send the policy to me and she continued to talk over me and she appeared very angry that I was asking for what I believe to be my right. I do not feel I was adequately advised as to why I was being charged additional monies on my account.

Not disclosed as an attempt to collect
Complaint: I was not made aware of this debt/bill by the medical provider or the collection agency it was assigned to. I discovered this {$25.00} debt in collections when I checked my credit report.
I have XXXX coverage through my medical insurance companies, as does my wife. My wife was also found to have XXXX outstanding bills that were found on her credit report that had gone to collections as well. The bills were created by the same hospital that charged me the {$25.00} bill, which was sent to collections. My wife and I had no idea she had any outstanding bills from this hospital until we checked her credit report at the same time we checked mine. She did not receive any bills or paper work from the hospital or collection companies either.
The collection agencies removed all of my wife 's bills from her collection reports, but has refused to work with me on this issue. I have asked the medical provider to work with me on removing this from my credit report, because I never received any notification of this bill, but the hospital billing department has refused to work with me to resolve this issue.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: California Business Bureau of XXXX, CA, has attempted, on numerous occasions, via their representative XXXX, to collect over {$1000.00} above the principal balance of an alleged medical collection with XXXX Hospital in exchange for deletion of this account from my credit report. The company claims they have validated this debt with statements and bills in 2010, however, I stated I do not recall this, and they have refused to send updated copies of this debt validation to my current address or remove this from my credit reports.
California Business Bureau has attempted to extort excess money from me, the consumer, in exchange as a barter for deletion from my credit files. I believe this to be a violation of the FCRA and a very unethical practice.
I have disputed this debt with the original creditor as well, XXXX HOSPITAL, who claims that the debt is valid based upon me recalling one of the services performed ( XXXX ), though I still dispute the dates of service in question and total amount said due. The original balance is quoted as being {$1700.00}, and CBB is requesting over {$2800.00} to close the debt and remove from my credit report.
In addition, I have filed a complaint with the XXXX and the Attorney General in California for this company 's extremely unethical business practices. Note that XXXX, CBB Agent, stated " I 'm not supposed to do this and normally we do not do this, but will delete this for you if you pay this amount ''. The company has refused to further dispute this information, nor has accepted responsibility for the attempted bartering with their agent and non-compliance with FCRA. It is also worth noting that NEITHER THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR ( XXXX HOSPITAL ) OR THE COLLECTION AGENCY ( CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU ) HAVE COPIES OF MY DRIVER LICENSE, SIGNED DOCUMENTS BY MYSELF, or SOCIAL SECURITY CARD proving this is my debt, or that I was seen on the alleged date of service for the alleged services.

Right to dispute notice not received
Complaint: Hi, my problem consists in an older case which apparently is the root cause of my credit score is not optimum reflecting my behavior. I found this problem last year when I approached a mortgage broker to qualify for a mortgage. Once he brought up this info ( which is ridiculous as all XXXX totals in {$190.00} and all XXXX were paid in full ).
California Business Bureau ( CBB ) is the credit collection agency which I have tried calling to remove the XXXX collection reports which they in all XXXX cases told me verbally that if paid within a 30 day time limit it would not enter my credit report. I paid all XXXX incidents immediately upon the notification but apparently they did not keep their work. Every time I called them they reject me.
I 'm not very familiar with credit score, however my mortgage broker suggested I should try to fix the score before applying for a mortgage as my score would be significantly higher resulting in a more affordable mortgage - and nobody is in debt nor is the balance in question of significance.
CBB has never notified me about any rights to dispute their filings, hence it was left on my credit report for a while until I found it via the mortgage broker. However I found on the internet someone suggesting to file a dispute with the credit agency. I 'm not sure what to write and who to address, CBB? XXXX? Fico? ...
As I would really like to be able to afford a permanent home for my kids to be raised in, can you provide me some guidance on how to proceed with this, please?

Complaint: I am a XXXX year old college student .Just recently I found out that I have an unpaid debt ( {$450.00} ) in my credit report from XX/XX/XXXX which I never knew about. Upon further investigation I found out about an unpaid medical bill my insurance company has refused to pay. Now, I have never received a single correspondence from the hospital nor from the collection agency. The only reason I found out about this debt now in XX/XX/XXXX is because I applied for credit card and was denied due to the above mentioned debt .I am devastated because I pay all my bills on time. I do n't have any credit card debt since I pay them fully at the end of each month. I feel my rights have been violated and neglected and I have been put in this situation unfairly.
