Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: I have an Exxon Mobil " Smart Card '' credit card that gives a XXXX " Loyalty Reward '' rebate for every gallon purchased. I believe it is administered by Citibank.
For each purchase, the statement shows 1 ) address of gas station, 2 ) gallons and type of gas purchased, 3 ) a Reference number, 4 ) invoice number and 5 ) Amount paid.
The " Loyalty Reward '' sums up the total gallons purchased during the billing period and rebates XXXX per gallon ; and applies it to the amount due. But there are many instances where the " gallons and type of gas purchased '' is not stated. Instead it states " Miscellaneous. '' So the gallons purchased under " Miscellaneous '' is not used to calculate the Loyalty Reward rebate. I checked previous statements and it happens even 4-5 years ago. In a XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX purchase stated as " Miscellaneous '' I should have received an additional {$2.00} in rebate.

Complaint: RE : A ccount Numbers - XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , MI XXXX phone - XXXX email - XXXX XXXX XXXX My mother, XXXX XXXX XXXX , had a mortgage that was held by CitiMortgage. She held that mortgage as an individual, it originated XXXX . My mother passed away XXXX XXXX , XXXX . I informed CitiMortgage of my mother 's death and sent the death certificate. My mother did not have a will nor did she has any assets. I received a mortgage statement from CitiMortgage the following month with my name ( XXXX XXXX ) and my sister 's n ame ( XXXX XXXX ) listed on the mortgage. I contacted CitiMortgage and they stated they put our name on the mortgage now that my mother had passed away. I explained to them they can just add someone else to a mortgage, we had nothing to do with my mother 's home. They reviewed the closing documents and discovered neither myself or my sister had signed any documents. They faxed me copies of the documents on XXXX XXXX , XXXX . It appears my mother listed our names on the loan application under the title without our knowledge. They stated they would remove our names. We did n't receive any further statements from them. I did not nor did I ever live in my mother 's house. I did not obtain her house after her passing nor did I benefit from her home. Neither did my sister. I assumed everything had been corrected. I obtained a recent credit report which is listing CitiMortgage with more than 17 late payments adversely affecting my credit report. Even though the y stated they removed my name from the mortgage they continued to report negatively on my credit for an additional 4 years.

Complaint: I returned a XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX to the best buy in XXXX pa to the store XXXX. It went to a closed account that was stolen, that 's why it was closed. When I received my statement it came through as a general purchase. It was then minuses off, and turned into a promotional purchase. THIS WAS TO BE A REFUND FOR {$720.00}, THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE RETURN. THEY PUT IT THROUGH AS A PURCHASE. THEY THREATENED ME TO KEEP PAYING FOR THE ITEM EACH MONTH OR THEY WOULD RUIN MY CREDIT. SO I HAVE CALLED COUNTLESS TIMES. I SPOKE WITH XXXX XXXX AT BEST BUY CORPORATE WHO SAID HE WOULD HELP ME, BUT THEN HE SAID IT DOES N'T CONCERN HIM IT IS CITIBANK THAT I NEED TO DEAL WITH. I HAVE BEEN CALLING ALMOST DAILY SINCE THIS HAS HAPPENED, BUT NO ONE WILL HELP ME. I FILED A POLICE REPORT AT BOTH THE XXXX POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE XXXX XXXX POLICE DEPARTMENT. AT BOTH STATIONS THE OFFICERS WERE ABLE TO SEE THE ISSUE, AND I WAS TOLD I WAS RIGHT. XXXX XXXX EXECUTIVE RESPONSE UNIT XXXX WAS THE PERSON XXXX XXXX TOLD ME I NEEDED TO TALK TO. WHICH I DID. I FAXED AND MAILED MY PROOF INTO CITIBANK SEVERAL TIMES, BUT HIS RESPONSE IN A LETTER WAS HE WAS DONE WITH THE ISSUE AND I SHOULD KEEP PAYING. HE SENT IN HIS LETTER TO ME WRONG ACCOUNT NUMBERS AND BECAUSE HE SAW A MINUS ON MY STATEMENT HE FEELS I GOT MY MONEYBACK. BUT I HAVE XXXX CREDIT CARD ACCOUNTS WITH BEST BUY CITIBANK. HE COULD N'T EVEN GET THAT RIGHT. THE STATEMENT CLEARLY SHOWS THEY CHARGED ME IN THE PURCHASES COLUMN {$720.00} FOR A PURCHASE, AND THIS WAS CLEARLY A RETURN. I DO N'T FEEL I SHOULD CONTINUE TO PAY FOR ITEMS THAT I DO NOT HAVE. THEY WO N'T CREDIT ME FOR MY BALANCE THEY SAY I STILL OWE OF {$330.00} FOR MY RETURN SINCE THEY MADE ME PAY MONTHLY {$380.00} FOR ITEMS THAT WERE RETURNED TO THE XXXX XXXX AT THE XXXX BEST BUY ON XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Complaint: I recently received a letter from Citi bank that states that their " records reflect that you previously enrolled in Credit Protector, an optional debt protection program offered by Citibank N.A for witch you were charged a monthly fee. '' The go on to say that " if you believe that you were enrolled without your consent or knowledge of the program or costs ore benefits, you may go to www.citi.com/refundinquiry and submit a claim ... '' My concern is that I received this notice with no knowledge of what was happening so I called them. The people I got that I talked to m ade it sound like I have the opportunity to re-enroll into their program and that it is a service that they provide. They are so facetious about it that it sounds like a scam and I was n't going to do anything. I looked your article up on the internet and see now what is going on. Should n't they be more upfront about this? It is very concerning to get such a letter in these times when there are so many scams out there and they give little to no information about what is going on and make it sound like I have the " opportunity '' to re-enroll in their credit protection program.

Problem with balance transfer
Complaint: I have been a custom er of Citibank for 29 years. I pay my balance in full every month. Citi o ccasionally sends me junk mail that I throw in the garbage. Apparently they sent blank checks to be used for a balance transfer. On XXXX some one signed my name to one of those checks and made it to himself ( or another individual ) for {$600.00}. Citi assessed a {$30.00} fee. I paid the {$630.00} because I 'm applying for a mortgage and I do n't want to show I have overdue charges. Since then I have called the bank 6 times and have asked for my money back. Every time they put me on hold for a while and then they say the money will be in my account in 2 working days, they will send an affidavit for me to sign, etc. It 's now been 5 weeks and nothing has happened. I asked them to cancel all other checks that were issued and not to send me any more. Someone did try to cash another check for {$300.00} but luckily it was n't accepted. I 'm appalled they treat me like this. I 'm buying a new house and {$630.00} is significant. I do n't know how much longer they need to investigate, but they should give the money back in while they do that, or they should speed up the fraud investigation.

Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX , I obtained a Home Equity Loan wi th CitiFinancial now called OneMain. The contract was put on file with our county title an d deed office as a second mortgage securing the loan. After XXXX from the XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX , I began a career with XXXX XXXX . The money from this loan was used to pay {$10000.00} for training and lodging in XXXX Georgia with XXXX . I was hired in XX/XX/XXXX after completing the training and on XX/XX/XXXX " XXXX XXXX '' I was laid off for 9 months. During this time of unemployment, I made every attempt to renegotiate the payments with the local branch manager. Pa yments were put on the back but I could not make them. Eventually, the manager invoked a Judgment Lien o n the home in XX/XX/XXXX . I was called back and laid off until in XX/XX/XXXX I decided to file for Chapter XXXX protection to prevent Foreclosure. I had XXXX previous failed Chapter XXXX because of lack of funding. I eventually was hospitalized for XXXX and became unemployable. In XX/XX/XXXX , my pay stabilized with my VA XXXX and I was able to make repairs to my home. In XX/XX/XXXX , I filed for CH XXXX to stop the collections, foreclosure and legal proceedings. The trustee required that I repay all debts at 100 % which was completed XX/XX/XXXX . During the repayment plan, XXXX XXXX XXXX bought the debt from CitiFinancial o f which I paid {$8900.00} of this debt. CitiFinancial did not respond to the filing at the XXXX meeting and did not get paid the $ XXXX that was left on the secured side of this loan. In XX/XX/XXXX , I received a letter from CitiFinancial/OneMain CONGRATULATING ME on the FORGIVING 2ND MORTGAGE DEBT and also issued a XXXX with the secured amount that was still outstanding. Probably thinking that I was going to have to claim this as income on my XX/XX/XXXX taxes. NOT! I reached out to my trustee 's office who in turn gave me the number to the IRS Insolvency Unit which is in the same Federal buil ding in XXXX . She informed me that I was insolvent and did not have to repay this debt. I requested my attorney to seek permission from the trustee to incur debt so I could pay my Chapter XXXX early and make home repairs with a VA CASH OUT REFI. The motion was approved and I proceeded to seek a lender that would approve me. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX were the XXXX lenders that I reached out to only to be denied. I asked why and the only answer I got was the fact that there was a lien on my title which prevented the loan from being approved. All other guidelines were met but that is what denied the loan. I reached out to the county title and deeds office and was informed that the 2nd mort gage was lien free and that there may have been an issue with computer systems that track these things being outdated. I decided to wait until XX/XX/XXXX when I was about to close o n my Chapter XXXX . When my case closed in XX/XX/XXXX , I began to consider the option of purchasing compared to a va refi-cashout for repairs. So in XX/XX/XXXX , I was given a discharge date from my attorney and began the process to purchase a home. XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are in the final stages of finalizing my closing for the home. Using the payment history during my Chapter XXXX and not missing any payments allowed me to be approved. Today, XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from the Title Company that is handling my loan stating that I have a Judgment an d Lien st ill enforced on my current property. After speaking to the woman, I informed her that this was impossible because this was removed from the title last year. After calling the County Ti tle and Deed Office the Lien was removed but the 2nd Mortgage and Judgment was still in place. I decided to use my attorney and get information. He informed me that since I had received the XXXX this debt was no longer enforceable by the judgment. I called CitiFinancial Bankruptcy/Recovery Department XXXX and was given the run around. This company failed to clear up the rest of the legalities after they FORGAVE the 2nd MORTGAGE and now I am paying for it in so many ways. If I lose this loan because of their failure to remove this judgment I will definitely loose it.

Complaint: As part of the agreement betwee n Citibank and the CFPB concerning their identitymonitor product I was issued a credit of {$170.00} to my card ending in XXXX . Citibank sent me a letter explaining why I am receiving the credit and the agreement with the CFPB. I requested a refund check for the credit amount which Citibank se nt to me, but when I deposited the check on XXXX it bounced! Very embarrassing. I was then charged a fee by my bank. I spoke t o a specialist at Citibank o n XXXX who promised to reinstate the credit funds of {$170.00} but up till today XXXX the credit has not been placed back on my account. It seems that Citibank does not want to honor the CFPB agreement and wants to renege on the credit. I have called and spoken to customer service agents at citibank on three more occasions and they all promise to reinstate the credit but the credit is still not reinstated. It seems that Citibank may n ot be taking the CFPB seriously

Complaint: After several years of being an excellent Citi Double Cash cardholder with zero late or missed payments, Citi closed my account on XXXX XXXX , 2017. The y did not provide warning or notice and I was not given any explanation as to why they closed my account. At the time of closure, I had an accumulation of {$7300.00} in unredeemed cash rewards. The earned amount was confirmed by Citi on my XXXX XXXX , 2017 sta tement and through their phone system on XXXX XXXX , 2017 ( se e attached transcript of phone call, also recorded on an audio file ). However, when I subsequently attempted to redeem the rewards, they claimed that my cash rewards would be forfeited since the account was closed. Citis withholding of my earned rewards is a blatant breach of our covenant of good faith. I earned the {$7300.00} in rewards according to the rules outlined in their marketing and promotion campaign . Citi engaged in widespread media marketing campaigns to promo te Citi Double Cash. T he reward card was promoted as having cash rewards that never expire. Howeve r, Citi is now claiming that the cash rewards are forfeited if the account is closed. In other words , if Citi decides they dont want to pay an accrued liability, they can simply close the account for no reason. This can not possibly be lawful in the letter nor spirit of contract law. My credit card account was terminated, even though my account had never been in default and I never missed a monthly payme nt. Citi stripped me of rewards cash that I had earned, without any form of compensation. This is clearly a situation where Citi is tryi ng to avoid paying a liability they owe.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: On XXXX XXXX , XXXX , I consolidated all my student loans held with various lenders through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) . XXXX of these loans were originated with Citi Student l oan in the amounts or {$2800.00} and {$4500.00}. On the date of refinancing, the Citi student loans had balances of {$2000.00}. XXXX and {$3300.00}. XXXX disbursed payments in full to Citi Bank on XXXX XXXX , 2017. I received copies of the cancelled checks showing that Citi Bank deposited the check for {$2000.00} on XXXX XXXX , 2017 and the check for {$3300.00} on XXXX XXXX , 2017. At the beginning of XXXX , I started receiving letters and e-mails from Citi Student loan say that my loan with a balance of {$3300.00} had been transferred to XXXX XXXX for loan servicing. I tried contacting Citi Student loa n, but that contact no longer worked since Citi ceased servicing of all student loans. I contacted XXXX to inform them that both loans were paid in full. I also contacted XXXX , who confirmed that the payments were indeed made to Citi Bank. I received copies of the cancelled checks from XXXX on XXXX XXXX and promptly e-mailed the cancelled checks to XXXX customer service at XXXX XXXX XXXX , as instructed by a XXXX supervisor. However, I continue to receive harassing phone calls about a delinquent loan from XXXX . I received a letter from Citi Student lo an on XXXX XXXX saying that my loans were paid in full, and I immediately forwarded that letter to XXXX on the same day. Today I received a letter from XXXX saying that they checked with Citi and the loan balance of {$3300.00} was not paid. I immediately called XXXX , who initially claimed that they did not receive my e-mail with copies of the cancelled checks showing full payment to Citi. I spoke for over a half over from XXXX central to XXXX central with XXXX customer representative XXXX ID XXXX XXXX . After repeated request, XXXX team lead XXXX ( I D not given ) confirmed receiving both the XXXX XXXX email with the cancelled checks and the XXXX XXXX email with Citis letter confirming payment. Yet, XXXX refuses to close my account.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I believed I made my last payment on the card, but was not sure. After doing some investigating I requested proof of purchases and invoices. Macy 's charged my card for something I did not purchase. I thought it was maybe clothing or something smaller, i.e. less th an {$25.00}. However, the purchase was nearly {$300.00}. I have disputed this for near ly three years a nd nothing has become of my complaints to them. I am now in collections to XXXX XXXX XXXX and all they will do is attempt to collect payments. I do not owe this and have exhausted every resource and course of action.
