Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I was comparing credit card 's on Citibank 's website. I applied for the Citi Diamond Preferred Card. I received a instant approval for the Simplicity Card. I was concerned and I immediately called Citibank. I was told that I'd need to wait 3 days until the card is showing in the system and it could then be switched to the correct card. I called days later to speak to 3 separate people. I was told this wasn't a problem and then I was hung up on while they were switching me to another person. I spoke to a nice woman who filed a complaint on my behalf. I have been told many things from managers and all have told me that they'd get back with me immediately and that my situation would be rectified. Unfortunately, I've been lied to. The most recent phone call on the XX/XX/XXXX promised me a phone call from the vice president within 24-48 hours because there were no notes from the gentleman in management that had promised to call me back on the last conversation. I lost his name but I had really trusted him and the promises that he had made to me. It appears that every conversation that I've had with Citibank have been lies. I'm especially surprised that even the managements, management doesn't do what they are supposed to..

Complaint: My complaint has to do with merchant refunds not credited to my bank account On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX refunded XXXX to our bank account under my husbands debit card number On XX/XX/XXXX I called Citibank to find out where this credit was The supervisor told me that it was pending and it would be released and credited to our account at close of day ( XXXX ) I never received the credit so I called XXXX and they reassured me ( and verified through a ARN tracking number ) that the credit was issued The manager from XXXX called Citibank and initiated a three way call The Citibank rep stated that there was no credit pending and I would have to wait 10 more business days before filing a dispute She said that whoever told me on the XX/XX/XXXX about seeing a credit was mistaken because it is impossible to see anything on their end until it actually posted The citibank employee right out lied to me The Wayfair manager then gave the citibank rep the ARN number ( the bank tracking number ) and told her that the refund was issued and this tracking number was used to make sure XXXX had dispersed the funds He explained that the refund was received by citibank and there was no reason for my account to not have been credited I then asked if I could file a complaint dispute through email or fax I sent a fax along with a letter from XXXX but still have not received a credit I suspect that something or someone on the Citibanks end is holding or stealing any refunds going into our account I have never had any refund not credited within 24 hours after the merchant issues it I am really convinced there is something going on with our account as we are filing another separate complaint about another XXXX refund that we have not received Please check into this matter ASAP as bank fraud could be involved

Banking errors
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I deposited a money order in the amount of {$1000.00} into my savings account. After checking the balance, I realized the transaction did not show at all. Immediately I contacted the customer service department and I was told a temporary credit for the amount of my deposit will be effective until the issue is resolved.
The next day I received a phone call from the branch where I made my deposit ( XXXX, New Jersey ). I called back and spoke to a representative who told me my money order was 'found ' on the floor by a customer. They made the necessary research and contacted me to let me know what happened. I advised them that I already reported the issue and a credit was processed to my account. I also confirmed with the representative who claimed they will proceed to contact the department handling my concern, that the money order was verified with them, in order to justify the credit processed on my account. At that point I thought everything was resolved.
Today, I received a letter dated XX/XX/2018, that states the investigation is completed but they are unable to honor my request? I immediately called the number stated in the letter, where I was transferred to XXXX ( supervisor-team XXXX ). This lady just confirmed the lack of customer service skills and the overdose of attitude that she was unwilling to help me with this issue that was out of my control.
I need a solution asap.

Problem with fees
Complaint: I have been making payments on my credit card. When I would be charged a returned check fee more then three times. I would call my bank and the credit card company at the same time was told by my bank that there was no returned payments. Citibank would still not waive the the fee I continued to make payment but it accured again. So I closed the credit card.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX, spoke with XXXX - he reversed charges that were wrongly accrued. Brought balance owed to {$0.00}. Closed the account completely on that day.
Received another statement - account was NOT closed. I called back on XX/XX/XXXX disputed the now new charges that accrued again. Spoke to XXXX, then XXXX and a XXXX - reversed charges again and got a confirmation # that account was closed and all issues resolved. Confirmation # XXXX.
Received yet another bill for the account that should be closed. New charges once again have accrued. XX/XX/XXXX Tried calling in again explaining the account was closed now twice but yet still getting charges and fees. All while crushing my credit score because its showing I am not paying past due fees. Spoke to three gals, first XXXX hung up on me. Promptly called back spoke to XXXX ( ID : XXXX ) she said she couldn't help me. I asked to be transferred to a manager. Complaint: Re Loan from Citi Financial I am trying to get a reversal of my loan terms date which was changed from 15 years maturity of XXXX to 30 years without authorization or documentation. On XX/XX/XXXX, I asked for a decrease in my interest rate and was given an extension of my loan terms date to reduce payment amount which I never saw or signed. I did not find out about the extension until a telephone customer service told me the terms years later. The loan has been sold several times and is now with XXXX XXXX XXXX.
I realized that I was wrongfully harmed by this loan, and sought legal actions through 2 attorney. ( See attached documents ) My attorney did not fight for me in this process after being paid. Only a letter was sent and no rebuttal to CitiFinancial 's refusal to change the terms. Note, I had a previous attorney who only sent a letter but got no response from CitiFinacial. I was not aware of a Federal office for filing a complaint.
The terms offered by Citi in XXXX stated was not in my favor because it contained a stipulation where I could even miss one payment.
I am seeking to reverse the terms of this loan and recoup the damages that were done me. I would like a settlement of the loan terms with adjustments of interest back to the 15 year term. I would like damages paid for all loses I would like to know if the statue of limitations is still in effect for filing an individual suit if this is necessary.
Is there a Statue of Limitations to file a Class Action suit to benefit others who might have been wronged. If so, what is the Statue of Limitations for the class.
I would also like to know if I can currently sell my house and still file a legal action and seek recovery of losses.

Threatened to sue you for very old debt
Complaint: On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX I received a phone call from XXXX at XXXX XXXX. I answered, and it had me press " 9 '' to continue, which I did. I held for a moment confused by what was going on.
Finally, a woman started asking me my phone number and was very rude telling me I owed CITI bank a debt from XXXX and needed to pay them NOW {$2000.00} or they would file litigation against me and that would cost me over {$5000.00} and they would garnish my wages of 30 %. She asked if I wanted to be transferred " upstairs '' to get this taken care of. I explained I had no idea what she was talking about, let alone from 13 years ago. She said they mailed me something in a YELLOW envelope, but people usually throw it away thinking it's junk mail ; I explained I probably did the same thing. I even asked for documentation and she said no, I could be transferred but I had to pay and be transferred or they would take me to court. I again requested information and she wouldn't provide me with anything.
She continued being very harsh with me and I kept asking her to be patient with me as I am trying to understand what is going on. I continually asked her to be patient that I am speaking nicely to her and not yelling, I understand that she probably gets yelled at often but if she is going explain what is going on, what company she is calling from explain I would appreciate it. She continually said that if I don't pay they will take legal actions against me and do I want to be transferred.
I asked her who did she represent. Was it CITI Bank or another company. She said, " XXXX XXXX ''. I asked the litigation of who? CITI or someone else. She said she was with the XXXX XXXX. OF CITI BANK collecting debt. So, I asked her again, because she was getting loud and frustrated with me as I was trying to understand and kept saying they'll take me to court and was being rude. I explained that I was being nice to her trying to understand. I then asked for her to transfer me to a manager if she couldn't be nice and patiently explain this to me that maybe that person would. She would not transfer me. I then asked for her name at which point she then hung up on me! I have no idea what is going on, what the actual name of the company is or if there is an actual debt I am not aware of from 13 years ago!
So, I am still without any understanding of who/what this company is, who called ( other than the " CITI Bank XXXX XXXX '' any documentation and concerns about a suit being filed against me for I don't know what about an unknown debt from 13 years ago!

Fees charged for closing account
Complaint: Citibank confiscated my mom 's checking/savings account, saying the account was abandoned. My XXXX year old mother, who has been in a rehab center for a year due to seriously XXXX XXXX, had a home equity loan and money market account with them for nearly 20 years and cashed out her life insurance policy last year to pay off the loan, of which she paid over {$200.00} a month in interest. Without prior notice, I received a notice from CitiBank that they had confiscated her account due to abandonment. They claim they sent notices, but since her horrible injury, I have been handling her mail and I never received ANYTHING stating this action would be taken. After being told there was nothing I could do about it, by my 3rd call they ordered me to fill out a statement citing the circumstances, the total amount of which was {$210.00}, have my mom sign it, and a check would be sent. One was sent, short the {$5.00} from the money market account. Repeated requests and demands for the entire amount, which was listed on the signed request they received, they have dug in their heels and now say .I need to fill out forms to get the {$5.00} back! It may seem like a pittance, a petty complaint, but how many people have they done this to who aren't aware it happened, especially the elderly and the XXXX? I've warned them 3times I would file a report over this, and even recommended they simply put a {$5.00} bill in an envelope to solve this problem, but they are adamant about filling out more forms eventhough the amount on my mom 's signed letter was acknowledged by CitiBank to be the amount she was owed. We came from the XXXX and CitiBanks stand on the 2nd amendment and their refusal to serve people or business who associate with the XXXX is widely known, and being members, we refuse to allow CitiBank to keep even a single cent they don't deserve! My mom is adamant ... .she wants the ENTIRE AMOUNT THEY TRIED TO STEAL! Please help us stand up to these XXXX who would rather be reported than give an old, XXXX great grandmother her {$5.00} back! Complaint: Citibank line of credit My wife and I applied for a line of credit to pay for a kitchen remodel $ 10- {$30.00} Whatever would be available to us.
Over a lengthy period of several months Citibank themselves increased the amount to over $ 80k and then turned the loan into a credit consolidation loan.
In a very contrary move they have now just denied the $ XXXX loan on the grounds that we dont earn enough and a FICO score that they supplied of XXXX.
We also own our $ XXXX condo outright with nothing owed and earn circa $ XXXX a year.
We at no point asked for XXXX, that figure was pushed onto us by various employees at Citibank, we did and still only actually need between 10-30k!

Complaint: I made a purchase that I believed to be on my debit card with XXXX on XX/XX/2017 that was charged to my XXXX XXXX credit card instead.
XXXX had switched cards between companys so no records of any debt were on my online account and no bills were sent to me. XXXX if there was any issue had the ability fo notify of any debits, but, likely due to inefficiencies did not until 3 months later where I was notified of a statement. Seems odd that they would not notify me earlier if there were any debts.
This statment initially showed a dead, no balance account, as was shown when I checked in with XXXX in early XXXX.
Despite this XXXX 's attacked my credit rating, has refused to correct the misreporting, and had penalized me in fees ( which I paid to stop the credit damage from them ).
