Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX we received mortgage servicer, Carrington Mortgage Services ', " HAMP Non-Approval Notice '' dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. Carrington Mortgage Services ' denial letter listed the reason for denial as " Application Discrepancy '' ; further described in their letter as " Reasonable evidence exists indicating that you submitted income or other information that is false and/or misleading in connection with your application for a loan modification under HAMP. '' On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I contacted the assigned single point of contact, XXXX XXXX, for a more detailed explanation. He explained that during a XX/XX/XXXX Carrington Mortgage modification review, the borrower hand wrote his unit number on his paystubs and that due to this, Carrington Mortgage now had reasonable evidence that the loan modification documents provided for this XX/XX/XXXX modification review are fraudulent. I advised XXXX XXXX the same information that was advised back in XX/XX/XXXX, that the borrower hand wrote his unit number " XXXX '' on his paystubs because it was incorrectly represented as unit " XXXX. '' The borrower did not intent to mislead or misrepresent information ; he simply wanted to correct a clerical error on his paystubs and did not anticipate the simple correction to be taken as fraud.
XXXX XXXX advised that a written appeal letter together with a cellphone bill, internet bill or cable bill as further proof of residency, would prompt a review and if documents are deemed acceptable -- a re-opening of the currently closed XX/XX/XXXX HAMP loan modification review.
Therefore, on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, we sent Carrington Mortgage an appeal letter along with a XXXX cell phone bill dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX, with XXXX XXXX 's address listed as : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Florida XXXX, as further proof of residency.
On, XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, we received a " Non Approval Notice '' dated, XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, regarding our formal appeal letter dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. The letter stated Carrington Mortgage is unable to provide mortgage assistance because " Upon completion of the evaluation, CMS has determined that the documentation you have provided does not change the original denial disposition. '' On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I spoke with assigned single point of contact, XXXX XXXX, who stated the reason for the appeal denial was due to property inspections Carrington Mortgage performed which determined the property is tenant occupied and not borrower occupied.

Complaint: I have had a mortgage through Carrington Mortgage company for several years. In 2015, I elected to refinance to take advantage of a lower interest rate and that is when my problems started. They refinanced my loan but when they did, they paid my insurance company twice. I did n't catch the error until much later ( when my insurance company issued me a refund check ). When I called the company, they had no idea why my escrow account was short so I was n't sure if that was what actually happened. I agreed to pay additional money so that my escrow could be caught up. Now, this year, it is showing short again by XXXX dollars. When I called them, they admitted they had paid my insurance company twice but when I called my insurance company, they are only showing where it has been paid once. I need to know how to handle this. I ca n't afford to pay more money. Can I make them send me copies of the checks where they disbursed the funds? Please advise. Thanks, XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage Services did not follow thru on the HAMP modification that was applied for thru XXXX XXXX. They stated that the 3 month trial period would be as long as 10 months because they were too busy to look at it from acquiring too many loans from XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX approved a trial HAMP for three month sold the loan to Carrington Mortgage Service before the first payment was received. A good bye letter was received but no welcome letter ever came. Every month required a phone call to Carrington to make the trial modification payments which were XXXX more than the regular monthly payment. Numerous calls to Carrington with poor or inaccurate information have occurred. Carrington ultimately denied the modification due to liens they stated were attached to the property. The liens are not attached to the property and Carrington did not provide accurate information on the phone. Carrington will not apply over 6 months of full payment to the outstanding balance and have cause a determent to credit scores and ability to get out of this situation. Carrington did not try to obtain clear title just stated there was not a clear title. HAMP guidelines require the lender to do everything reasonable and necessary to obtain clear title to approve a HAMP modification. This did not occur.

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( DOB XXXX/XXXX/XXXX Last of ss : XXXX ) XXXX XXXX XXXX ( DOB XXXX/XXXX/XXXX Last of ss : XXXX ) Attached paper work in regards ' to the way that XXXX mortgage and also the Carrington mortgage company services LLC has been reporting to the credit agency on both of our credit reports untrue and inaccurate information ( Same joint accounts ).
Information they are reporting are that the accounts were foreclosed on and a bankruptcy.
They also make it appear that there are XXXX separate mortgages XXXX with a payment of {$360.00} and the other with a payment of {$700.00}.
Carrington mortgage when I contacted : ( XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXXXXXXXXXX ) stated that the foreclosure is correct because it was filed by XXXX before the short sale. Attached is a copy of the title search which shows no foreclosure paper work on this property was ever filed by either mortgage company. Also neither can show any paper work showing any foreclosure was filed and nor that we were ever served any foreclosure action. Also my attorney handling the sale of our home also did not receive any such notice. The only mention of any of this is on our credit reports. I believe this to be a deliberate attempt to help block any future credit offers by any lenders causing a lower credit rating and a higher interest rate offer by anyone. This is also an unfair and should be illegal partice. A lender has already told me that credit can not be issued because of what is reported to the credit reporting agency regardless of what paper work I have on these XXXX accounts.
Attached also is the following : 1 : date and approval of short sale letter. 2 : mortgage transfer letter and date. 3 : copy of the title search, 4 : Satisfaction of debt, 5 : mortgage statement showing paid, 6 : this cover letter. for a total of 8 pages.
This matter needs to be corrected and stopped by these mortgage companies to which I believe are working hand in hand or are really just the same company just using a LLC as a shield.

Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX Carrington mortgage lost a postal money order that was sent with another money order along with payment coupon in the same envelope. When I contacted them after checking my account information online they said I had only sent a partial payment and put my next payment into a suspense fund. An employee told me when I called that they would research this and get back to me. That did not happen, when I called again later that week I was told it would take 30 days to research this and that they would let me know what the findings were. I was told not to make a payment until this was resolved. I have been told week after week that they were still researching the missing payment. This could have easily been resolved if they would have just said they lost or misplaced the payment as I could have easily gotten a refund from the United States Postal Service and resent the money order. From XXXX till now I have still not received any resolution. This has been going on for over 90 days, this company has ruined my credit in the mean time. I called and asked what I could do to get this resolved and I was finally sent a payment coupon for the amount of {$7100.00} to bring my account up to date. The payment coupon was for XX/XX/XXXX.This was the first correspondence that I have received from this company in months. The day I received this I also received foreclosure papers from the Sheriffs Department. When I called to find out for sure how much would bring my account up to date I was told {$7100.00}. Today I was checking my account online only to find out that they have taken money that they put in a suspense fund and now they say that I owe another payment. I was told all fees would be in that {$7100.00} and my payment would be up to date until XXXX XXXX. Now I was told that is not the case. This company seems to make up its own rules as it goes along. A representative named XXXX asked me to fax all the information that I had, I documented phone calls copies of the money orders and the people I have spoken to, I faxed this information to her XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. All of this information has been faxed to this company 4 previous times. I have lived in this home since XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I would not have done anything to have put my home in jeopardy. I have not had any problems with any of the mortgage lenders I have had before it was sold to this company.
