Complaint: I have two mortgage loans with Carrington Mortgage Services. The company purchased the 20 year old loans from XXXX XXXX XXXX about two years ago. They reported these loans as 30 days late when there was a problem with their website after I had paid online. That was approx a year ago. Last month I paid payments on both loans on the website as I do every month and they were paid prior to the due date. Last month I went to pay early for XX/XX/XXXX payments and one of the loan shows it was not paid for XX/XX/XXXX. Once again paid both of the loans at the same time on line and got email confirmation of receipt. I called and asked why, they said bank returned the payment, which was a total lie as the bank did not return anything since there was 100 times more than the payment in the account. I called Carrington again, now they have different story after I told them bank did not return pmt, and turns out there was one digit off in the automated system on one account and correct on the other account so the payment did not go through. I was NOT contacted this payment didn't go through or I would of paid it again sooner as I did the moment I found out. I told them this should not be reported to credit agencies as I was not notified. They refused. Further, I have contacted them two times in writing as they are reporting these loans under my name when in fact these loans have been in the name of a corp since loan was made, I mailed them letter and proof the properties were purchase in corp name and so were the loans since day one 20 yrs ago. I faxed and mailed the letter and supporting documents a month ago and again zero response. They should not of ever been reported on my credit. They refused to correct this, not once but twice now.

Complaint: I sent a written inquiry to the mortgage company on XX/XX/2018 asking that they re-analyze my escrow account. Due to switching home owners insurance ( to a more affordable policy ), I had sent the refund check I received from the previous insurance company to the mortgage company and it was clearly marked " Attention Escrow '' which was what I was advised by the mortgage company to do. When the mortgage company received the check, they applied part of the funds to my monthly mortgage payment and the remainder went toward loan principle ( instead of going towards the escrow account as intended and requested ).
Because the funds were not applied as requested, my escrow account had a deficit during the year end escrow-analysis. I learned of this error when I received a letter from the mortgage company informing me that my monthly payments were going up instead of down ( as expected due to cheaper insurance ), this was an approximate {$80.00} difference per monthly payment.
The mortgage company responded approximately monthly saying, in essence, " we are working on it ''.
Now, XX/XX/2018 ( 113 days after the initial request ), I call the mortgage company only to learn that the letter I received on XX/XX/XXXX that states that the mortgage company is in the process of reversing and re-applying this transaction and will send me my new monthly payment amount, was not followed up on by the company.
In other words, after the mortgage company took 3 months to research the issue and decided they were going fix it as of the date of the XX/XX/XXXX letter, no one did anything. When I spoke with the customer service representative today, XX/XX/XXXX, he said that " it appears no one actually requested the re-analysis ... I'll request that now for you.. '' Meanwhile I have been paying {$80.00} more per month because this mortgage company is requiring for reasons that are not my fault, but a result of their terrible clerical and administrative services.

Complaint: I recently got behind on my mortgage by two months. I've been trying since then to catch up on my mortgage payment. Carrington mortgage will not give me any information to catch my account up to current standing. They are starting to send me lawyer paperwork which they did three years ago, cost me extra $ XXXX. Complaint: The property was financed with XXXX XXXX with life insurance on the loan by myself and another person in approx XX/XX/XXXX. All payments were current, none were late or missed as they were drafted from my account. The property burned completely with XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, but payments were still made until the investigation and insurance was complete. In XX/XX/XXXX drafts stopped being taken out of my account. I contacted XXXX XXXX and was informed my mortgage had been sold to Carrington mortgage without Carringtons knowledge of the loss. I was never notified by either company about a sale. I inquired about this and they said a letter was sent to an address that has not been connected to me in more than three years. XXXX XXXX has my current address as I received several items of mail from them, sent proof of XXXX and XXXX XXXX. I have tried for more than a year to get a copy of the original contract from Carrington as well as XXXX as my copy was burned in the fire. I had an attorney attempt to get the mortgage as well due to life insurance being on the loan, but to no avail. I am trying to close the estate of the person who was the co-mortgage holder that XXXX in the fire. I have tried for some time with Carrington to get a payoff, I was told over the phone the amount was XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and some odd cents, they assure me they will email it, but nothing. I want the email so I have written proof of how much I owe as I am afraid the amount will suddenly turn into the entire insurance amount with hidden fees and charges. The insurance company tried for one month to get proof of mortgage ownership from Carrington. I have a check from the insurance company for XXXX XXXX XXXX dollars and simply want this behind me. I have dealt with XXXX and now Carrington for more than a year being given the runaround. I feel as if I have no where to turn.

Complaint: We thought we were only 3 months behind on our payments and on XX/XX/XXXX we sent 1 payment and again on XX/XX/XXXX we sent another payment so then we thought we were only 1 month behind. But apparently we were 4 moths behind and Carrington rejected both payments and filled for foreclosure. Since then we have been trying to work with them to no avail. The first loan mod was declined because we didn't make enough money and now that business has picked up they are refusing to review the second application because we are to close to the sale date. We were just as close with the first application and they didn't refuse it so why are they refusing it now? It makes no sence to us. We feel like they have not tried to help us at all and they are just setting us up for failure.

Complaint: I sent an electronic payment on XX/XX/2018 in the amount of {$450.00} and the servicing company said they never received the payment. My bank verified that the company did in fact, received and deposited the payment into their bank account. However, they never reflex the payment as received or updated the dates on my account. I have sent letters from my bank, and proof of transactions made, and I have contacted the company almost everyday and I am still waiting for them to respond and make the necessary changes to my account.

Complaint: The original VA home mortgage was through XXXX XXXX XXXX and sold to Carrington Mortgage Services , LLC . Original mortgage was 6 years old, and I have never been late on a payment.
Carrington raised my payments {$140.00} a month without an explanation and on XX/XX/2018 when I called I was advised that they had added a 1/6 percent " cushion '' to cover any shortages in escrow that might happen in the future. I had the exact amounts that cover the tax for XX/XX/2018 and also the insurance, so there isn't a guessing game on what is or will be owed.
This is wrong! If I come up short, I should be given the option at that time of paying the difference immediately or having the additional amount added to my monthly mortgage payment. This is no different that having to pay PMI.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage Services purchased my mortgage from XXXX XXXX XXXX and began servicing my loan on XX/XX/XXXX. At the time I had an open property damage claim due to Hurricane Irma. As of today XX/XX/XXXX, I have submitted all requested paperwork to them to have a check issued to pay 1 of 2 final draws to my contractor. The inspector that was assigned by Carrington came and inspected the home on XX/XX/XXXX and identified the home as 75 % complete in repair., and requested payment from the escrow on my loan. As of XX/XX/XXXX, Carrington still refuses to issue the promised draw amount which is in excess of {$11000.00}. They are holding over {$22000.00} of insurance funds, and will not release those funds nor will they explain why or request any additional documentation. As of today XX/XX/XXXX I have final inspection scheduled and their refusal to release funds have caused me to breach contract with my general contractor. I call Carrington on a weekly basis to check the status, and every time I call no one can provide an answer, and their response is always that it will take 5-7 business days to review.

Complaint: I submitted a RMA. The decision was in my favor however I disagree with the calculations. I asked to discuss this with underwriting and filed an appeal. I was denied access to underwriting and was told by a rep in the home retention dept that my appeal was denied. Denial reason was that underwriter calculation always uses a yearly wage calculated by hourly rate for a 40 hour week year round. I submitted verification of 5 temporary layoffs that are a standard work at my company. The underwriting dept refuses to use this information

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX transferred my mortgage loan to Carrington Mortgage back in XX/XX/XXXX My taxes and insurance are included in my monthly mortgage payment and I have not missed any payment till date. Surprisingly to me I received a bill from Carrington Mortgage showing an increase of about {$80.00} on my mortgage for The month of XX/XX/XXXX. When I called them they said they have the right to ask me to pay an additional two months escrow. There are several complaints online about this company and its fraudulent practices. My wife and I about two years ago had to file for a mortgage modification with XXXX XXXX XXXX to lower our payment because we were struggling with the payment then. Now this crooks want to add another {$80.00} to our monthly payment.
The trick is that they use this tactic to get you to refinance your loan with them. They charge a bunch of fees and you loan amount increase even if your monthly payment is lowered. Immediately XXXX transferrred my loan to this crooked company they have been sending me foreclosure letters even though I owe them nothing also refinance letters and forms.They even went as far as sending someone to my house without any notice trying to force us to refinance our loan which at its Current form we are happy with. We are not looking to refinance our loan and this crooked company dont have any right to add another {$80.00} to our monthly payment. If they dont stop this fraudulent act I and 40 other people I met online with similar complaints will be filing a class action suit against Carrington Mortgage and XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Complaint: My mortgage was transferred to Carrington Mortgage Servicers, LLC from XXXX XXXX XXXX. My mortgage had a final foreclosure judgement already and I had been trying to obtain an affordable FHA modification through XXXX XXXX XXXX. When Carrington Mortgage Servicers, LLC took over, I had to start the modification process all over again. I sent in all requested documentation the required. I am the only one on the mortgage note with my wife, XXXX XXXX being on the title. Carrington Mortgage Servicers, LLC refused to even process my FHA -HAMP modification paperwork until my wife sent in all of her information. They are trying to force my wife to be a co-borrower for any future modifications that might, not guaranteed, be granted. My wife has no income unless you count Food Stamps of {$130.00} a month. She is unable to work due to medical conditions. There is no reason why she needs to be on the mortgage when she wasn't on it in the first place. Also, the are stating that her food stamp is actually {$160.00} a month before taxes are removed. From what I can see, Food Stamps are not taxable and this is not a legitimate claim from Carrington Mortgage Servicers, LLC.
On current statements from Carrington Mortgage Servicers, LLC, there are " misc. '' charges under the escrow account as well as multiple property inspection charges, title fees, Automated Valuation Model Fee, Foreclosure Appraisal fee, and a fee for " single item ''. According to HAMP rules and regulations, they are not permitted to continually charge my mortgage account for illegitimate fees or " Bogus '' fees.
My wife is being bullied into signing a modification with Carrington Mortgage Servicers, LLC when she is not part of the original mortgage note and no income that would make her beneficial to a modification of the original mortgage note. My wife and I feel bullied, pushed, and forced into the modification Trial Payments that they know do not follow the HAMP Regulations.
I also believe that another reason that Carrington Mortgage Servicers LLC is requiring my wife as a Co-Borrower is so that they will have the right to damage her credit as much as they have mine. As well as, have another person to hold liable for the mortgage note.

Complaint: I received an escrow statement from Carrington Mortgage Services on XX/XX/XXXX.
They made an extra payment of {$1000.00} on my property taxes. As result, i called Carrington Mortgage Services and paid off the entire {$1000.00}.
However I have to face the following problems : 1- I never received a new escrow analysis despite my request.
2-Since XX/XX/XXXX I have spoken to several people who pretended to be the managers and experts in escrow analysis. But they never honored the request of sending me an escrow analysis and telling me my new mortgage payment.
3- All the agents from Carrington were unethical and unprofessional. Among them, I can cite XXXX id # XXXX, XXXX id # XXXX, XXXX id # XXXX XXXX I firmly believe that Carrington Mortgage Services is overcharging me despite my payment of the entire difference on the escrow account.
5- Given the unethical treatments i have endured with Carrington Mortgage Services for many years, I would like our mortgage to be handled either by XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX where it originated from.

Complaint: I recently refinanced my loan and already into the first month of servicing with Carrington Mortgage Services , LLC, I'm already having issues with them.
Do date, I've sent 2 Principal Reduction Payments and both times they have misapplied, and misposted my payments for principal reduction.
The first mishap was XXXX ; they applied my PR check as a mtg payment, I contacted them and they said they will reverse it and apply it as PR within 3 days. 3 days turned into almost 3 weeks. They finally applied the PR as I intended on XXXX to show a loan balance of XXXX. During this time frame, I probably called 3 times to follow up and the last time I called to follow up they said it would take about 3 weeks, not 3 days to be corrected, but 3 weeks when my check was clearly marked as Principal Reduction.
During this time frame, I did not make my mortgage payment since I have a grace period until the XXXX ; because I wanted my payment to be applied towards the correct Principal Loan Balance.
Also during this time frame, I was able to make a Second Principal Reduction check which Carrington received on XXXX. They said in order for me to avoid having to call and follow up on Principal Reduction payments, I would need to send it to their XXXX, CA address since they handle PRs directly. I did this, and to my surprise, my principal Reduction check was cashed and cleared but NEVER posted or misposted. I called after the 4th business day of them receiving my check onXX/XX/XXXX and they said the check is an a suspense account. The amount does not reflect in a suspense account on my online account. They also said I can not make a Principal Reduction payment until they process my mortgage payment because I have to follow FHA Payment Guidelines. I let them know that my loan is NOT an FHA loan and my indication for the payment was to be applied as a principal reduction. Carrington refused to correct and post the {$1000.00} Principal reduction to my account. They insisted that I am subject to FHA regulations for posting of my payment and said I'm subject to a payment Hierarchy stipulation where if a payment is due, I can not make any principal reduction payments. I asked for them to tell me when was this disclosed to me and they were not able to give me an answer but that I can order that disclosure and it can be mailed to me. As far as I am concerned, my contractual agreement with the Lender is my Note, and in my Note, it indicates I can make principal reduction payments and I have a grace period of making monthly mortgage payments by the XXXX of each month. In my opinion, If am able to make principal reduction payments, then there should be no concern that I am able to make mortgage payments.
So far, I've made 2 Principal reduction payments and both have been misposted and misapplied. I am very concerned for other homeowners that make these principal reduction payments and their funds are being misapplied as their intentions indicate on the payment that Carrington is receiving.
To date, my account is still not reflecting the correct principal loan balance that should be XXXX, of which my XXXX payment should be deducted from. Carrington does not have good servicing practices and every time I talk to a Customer Service rep, their so called " policies '' are turn around times are different.
