Complaint: Carrington Mortgage took over servicing my loan effective as of XXXX XXXX, 2015. Prior to the transfer, on a monthly basis, I was able to make my regular payment and an additional principal only payment electronically each month. However, with Carrington I currently do not have that option because they are taking exceedingly long to process my request for automatic debit from my checking account. I faxed the request on or about XXXX XXXX, 2015. My request has not been processed nor have I received any type of confirmation from Carrington that they received my fax and are working on my request.
Since they have not processed my auto draft request, I am forced to make payments online. However, their online system is not equipped to accept my extra principal only payment electronically which is causing me undue stress. I travel Sunday through Friday of the work week. It 's very time consuming to go to the post office to purchase a stamp and envelope. However, I did purchase the stamp and envelope and mailed Carrington my extra payment on XXXX XXXX, 2015. I specifically waited until the online payment was confirmed before mailing the extra payment. I checked the principal only line on the payment coupon as well as wrote in large letters on top that the payment was " principal only ''. I even wrote on my check principal only. Even with the directions on the payment coupon and my check, Carrington still processed the payment incorrectly. They treated my funds as a regular payment and took interest and escrow out. I need help getting them to correct their mistake.

Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/15 we were contacted by XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ext XXXX ) who advised me that we had been approved for an FHA modification. She said we were on a 3-month trial period payment plan and that after successfully making the 3 months payments on time ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX ), our interest would drop from 5.25 % to 4 % and our payments would become lower than the trial period payment plan payments were. She said there would be no principal reduction. I just called to find out what our new lower payment would be beginning in XX/XX/XXXX and was told that we had to continue making the higher trial period payment plan payments because the paperwork had not been finalized. I was also advised that it could take 3 or 4 months for the modification to become final and we could begin making the lower payments.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage Services is the servicer of my FHA mortgage. I received a letter from my local tax office informing me that my XX/XX/XXXX city taxes that were due XX/XX/XXXX are now delinquent and a tax lien will be placed on my property if taxes are not paid by XX/XX/XXXX. After contacting my local office to inquire about the letter, and Carrington Mortgage Services, I have determined that Carrington Mortgage Services did not pay my XX/XX/XXXX city taxes from my escrow account. Carrington Mortgage Services has not been helpful in resolving this issue. When I contact them, I immediately get transferred to XXXX XXXX XXXX. After contacting Carrington/Lereta for the past week ( 5 business days ), the only information I have been able to obtain is that " the situation is being researched and escalated. '' I have not received any other information to confirm taxes are in the process of being paid. Infact, I have not received return phone calls as promised from XXXX, to update me on the status of my unpaid taxes.
In summary, my XX/XX/XXXX city taxes were not paid from my escrow account and a tax lien is going to be placed on my property if taxes are not paid by XX/XX/XXXX. Carrington Mortgage Services has done nothing to help resolve this issue since I made initial contact with them on XX/XX/XXXX when I faxed them a copy of the delinquent tax notice.

Complaint: I changed homeowner insurance companies recently, but before the insurance company contacted my mortgage company XXXX Carrington Mortgage XXXX the mortgage company paid the old insurance company. The old insurance company sent me a refund check for {$1200.00}, the amount it had been paid. To return the full amount XXXX {$1200.00} XXXX to my escrow account I made a regular mortgage of payment of {$420.00} and added the {$1200.00} of the insurance refund to the regular payment. I indicated that the additional {$1200.00} was to go to escrow by using the blank marked escrow, on my payment stub. All this took place during the month of XXXX. The payment was to be the payment due on the first of XXXX. Towards the end of XXXX I checked online to see if the payment had been processed. It had been processed, but incorrectly. The mortgage company had taken the entire amount and put it towards future payments. Thereby, making only a very small amount go to refunding my escrow account. I called their customer service department and tried to work through what had happened and how it would be corrected. I was assured they would correct the problem. I asked to be notified when the problem had been resolved, but was told " we do not notify anyone in situations like this ''. After arguing with the person for several minutes, and them speaking with their manager, I was told that in this instance they would let me know when the correction had been made. After waiting several days, without being notified, I checked online again. Some changes had been made on the escrow amounts, principal amounts, and interest amounts, but it was all still incorrect. They still had the {$1200.00} spread out like several mortgage payment, and with incorrect amounts. So, I called yet again. This time I spoke with someone named XXXX and explained what was supposed to have happened, and what they did wrong. We determined they still needed to move {$840.00} back from principal and interest payments and into my escrow. I was again assured they would take care of it. I asked again to be notified when the changes were made, and was told the same story as before. After a heated argument I was assured I would be notified when the changes were made. As of today, XXXX/XXXX/2015, they have not corrected the problem. Instead, they have only changed the amounts again. Now the escrow account is owed {$550.00} of the original {$1200.00} that was sent to strictly be placed in escrow. The {$550.00} in question is still listed as addition payments to principal and interest. I was tempted to call yet again, but fear I will only end up with the same results. I need someone to please help resolve this matter! I 'm at my wits end. At best, this seems like pure incompetents on the part of the mortgage company. At worst, it seems like right out fraud. I did n't have a choice when XXXX Mortgage sold my mortgage to this company. If I had, I would still be with XXXX. This problem, along with all the horror stories I have read about Carrington Mortgage, have not provided me with much security. Please Help!

Complaint: A few months ago, I noticed that my current mortgage company, Carrington Mortgage Services LLC, tried to deduct funds from the wrong account ( savings instead of checking ). As soon as I found this, I tried to contact them multiple times to correct this error. They refuse to respond to my E-mails or return my calls. I 've made every attempt to resolve these issues with them but they refuse contact me or work with me in any way. My online payment option has been disabled and they wo n't accept any form of digital payment ( over the phone or otherwise ). Currently, they are forcing me to send them cashiers checks via mail. This is a big problem for me since I have a job in which I may be away from home ( and my bank ) for several weeks at a time. I recently tried to refinance my mortgage through another company to get away from them. However, they reported that I made my payments late to the credit bureau and I was n't able to get my loan approved ( all delays were caused by the mortgage company ). I have copies of my past E-mails where I attempted to contact them and bank statements showing that I 've always had more than sufficient funds to make my payments.

Complaint: My closing date for my mortgage with Carrington Bank was XXXX XXXX. It is now XXXX XXXX 2015. After being told it was clear to close over XXXX weeks ago by my broker, it is still not closed. Every day they keep asking for something else and why was n't this asked XXXX MONTHS ago. I signed the contract on XXXX XXXX and my closing date was supposed to be XXXX XXXX, 2015. My concern is they keep questioning me about my status with my divorce and I was FORCED to file for divorce because of their internal " guidelines '' and just on Tuesday I was asked why I was getting a divorce and to explain my reasons to them. I have been so upset about their questioning. I think the Mortgage company has crossed the line by asking for my reasons why a divorce.

Around XX/XX/XXXX I called them for status update on the refi, processor said my VA was not XXXX percent entitlement. after XXXX calls to the VA, VA called Carrington mortgage and explain that it was XXXX percent entitlement so they said I could close XXXX XXXX 2015, nope then they said XXXX XXXX cause everything had to be redone. NOPE so then they said everything was redone because it took so long and that I would close XXXX XXXX,, NOPE I called, told then Im about to lose my interest rate so he emails me back said he was applying to extend my interest rate tomorrow XXXX which I was suppose to close on XXXX XXXX, Im am so fed up with Carrington Mortgage. Still no closing date makes no sense to me they are the worst company I have every dealt with in my life. Still no resolution. We received a cancellation notice from our homeowners insurance stating that the invoice they mailed to Carrington has gone unpaid! What are they doing with my money? Stealing it from us! Complaint: VA assumable mortgage. Deceased veteran ; surviving elderly spouse with only XXXX income ; out of money and ca n't make payments. Mortgage was current at time of contract. Property under contract with good buyer who requested assumption packet from mortgage company, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX, 2015. Received assumption packet XXXX XXXX, 2015 and returned completed packet next day. After taking about 4 weeks to review the completed assumption packet and stating that it looked complete and good, XXXX sold the mortgage on XXXX XXXX, 2015 to Carrington Mortgage. XXXX transferred assumption packet to Carrington Mortgage on XXXX XXXX, 2015, but Carrington Mortgage refused to look at the packet or initiate a new assumption packet stating, " We do n't do assumptions. '' It 's a VA assumable mortgage. Veteran 's widow called XXXX VA office to complain. Carrington finally issues an assumption packet 2-1/2 months later. Widow would have been able to pay back payments and selling fees from the sale proceeds if XXXX had processed the assumption as they stated they would do or if Carrington Mortgage had not blatantly declined to cooperate in the loan assumption process. XXXX and Carrington Mortgage delays have caused great financial loss for this widow - unnecessary financial loss. I am a XXXX filing this complaint on behalf of the veteran 's widow who seeks to have XXXX and/or Carrington Mortgage pay the XXXX or XXXX ( it 's not done yet XXXX payments that were caused by their delay. Someone from a property management company has posted an inspection page on the kitchen counter so it looks as though instead of processing the requested VA assumption, the mortgage company chose to take action to initiate foreclosure. Please note, that at the time this property went under contract, the payments were current. This veteran 's widow has been wronged. Written by a XXXX with XXXX years of active business. I know it takes some time to process an assumption, but if XXXX had plans to sell the mortgage, they should not have told us that they were only 2 days from approving the VA assumption. Carrington Mortgage certainly should not have declined to issue an assumption packet or to review the completed assumption packet sent to them by XXXX.

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX sold my mortgage to Carrington Mortgage Services in XXXX 2015. Carrington sent me a new escrow statement indicating that they have decided to collect XXXX of our escrow amount in accordance with federal law. My payment is increasing by {$130.00} a month. XXXX XXXX XXXX never did this and even when an escrow shortage occurred my payment increases were no more than {$50.00}. I am angry that a mortgage company is allowed to get away with this type of treatment. Particularly when the shortage has been artificially manipulated by making escrow disbursements XXXX month before they are due!

Complaint: My mortgage loan stated with XXXX and was quickly sold to XXXX XXXX XXXX who just sold it to Carrington Mortgage Services. XXXX had applied and according to the letter they sent me on XXXX XXXX, 2015 that HUD had approved discontinuing MIP. They sent me a letter stating my annual escrow review had been done and my escrow payment was {$190.00} but was going down to {$100.00} per month. I made my XXXX payment through an Escrow company and the check was cleared XXXX XXXX, 2015. I received a letter from Carrington stating no monies had been received. I verified with the Escrow company that the payment had been made and cleared and then contacted Carrington. I was again told no monies were received only after a lengthy discussion did the customer service rep finally admitted they did have the payment. She stated it not applied because they the amount was insufficient according to their records. I shared all the dates and statements I had received from XXXX and was told that she was just trying to keep me from being foreclosed on. She also told me not to talk but to listen to her because if I did n't make a payment right then the rep would not help me. She also tried to make me pay the entire payment until we had another long discussion that they had the entire payment less {$85.00}. She accepted my checking information and only after she had it did she inform me there would be a {$15.00} fee payable to XXXX XXXX. Giving the media attention regarding issues with XXXX XXXX I objected and was told I had no choice. I asked how this could be resolved and was informed it was up to me to provide Carrington with all the documentation including those sent by Carrington. She gave me a phone number to the research department that turned out to be a non working number. I also asked to speak to a supervisor on several occasions and was told no each time. She took my phone number and said a supervisor would call it has now been XXXX days and no return call. I was also informed by a XXXX customer rep that all the information regarding the MIP and escrow changes were provided to Carrington. He also refused any assistance stating they had closed out the loan so it basically was n't their problem. When I spoke with the Carrington customer service rep she informed me that she found no such records, Ironically on XXXX XXXX, 2015 Carrington issued me a check for a Escrow refund, my question is how did that happen? I have read numerous complaints from individuals who had their mortgages sold by XXXX to Carrington and a vast majority report numerous issues with Carrington. This is a FHA loan and the government needs to investigate this company and it 's practices. Thank you.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage has been the direct force in us resulting with a lien against our property. Our mortgage has our tax pymts escrowed. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was informed by my town office that no pymts had been received for the year & a XXXX day demand was in affect. We contacted Carrington on XXXX and was told that their records agreed, no pymt had been made. A copy of the demand letter was faxed by the town to the company. We were told it had been received and would take XXXX days to process but we were all set. After checking our account and seeing no pymt applied we again called on the morning of XXXX. We were told this time that nothing had been processed & that they had not received a fax from the town until XXXX. This was in fact a lie since we had verification back on XXXX we were all set. The town further verified it by having confirmation that the fax was sent on XXXX and there were no outgoing faxes on XXXX. They told us it would be another XXXX days for processing. I told them this was unacceptable since the deadline was XXXX. The town was contacted by them the morning of XXXX asking for yet another statement of the account balance. It was provided and then the town called and verified that it had been received and was in hand, which it was confirmed. I called as well and was told on XXXX that the check had been issued and had been overnighted. On XXXX, no payment was received. The XXXX aware of the situation, called the company and was told that they would call back with a tracking # and were surprised it had not come in. By the afternoon, the XXXX received another call from a different individual stating that there had been a mess up and the check had not been mailed ( Even though XXXX the XXXX and myself was informed on XXXX it had been mailed ) They were unwilling to do anything in forms of a wire transfer or over the phone payment to avoid us having a lien placed on our property by XXXX. Checks were finally cut and mailed on XXXX but a lien was filed due to non payment by the set deadline.
This has further led us to believe that we were misdirected last XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ) when we tried to apply for a refinancing of our loan due to some hardships ( my wife had missed a lot of work due to XXXX issues ) We submitted everything that was requested of us and each time when we confirmed that it was received, were told we were all set. Then when we would call to check on the status, were told on XXXX separate occasions that the documents had not been received. We were ultimately denied and accepted it, but this is now making us wonder, if this was just another lie and documents were not delivered or fairly reviewed.

Complaint: I submitted my mortgage payment using my mortgage companies online bill pay system. The payment was made on XXXX XXXX, 2015. The bank account information I listed was, apparently, off by XXXX number and as a result it never went through. I discovered this today, XXXX XXXX, and contacted my mortgage company to inquire as to why the payment never went through. I was at this time advised that the account information entered was incorrect. I asked that since my original payment was submitted timely, and since the only reason for the issue with the payment was related to an error in account info, that they not report my husband and I to the credit agencies. I was told " too bad, we 're reporting you anyway ''. I never received a phone call, email, text message or notification via XXXX Mail stating that the payment could not be processed and therefore was unaware that payment had not gone through. I do not feel as though my husband and I should be penalized as a result of their inability to provide proper notification.

Complaint: My mortgage was sold from XXXX to Carrington Mortgage in XX/XX/XXXX. At the time we were a couple months behind on our mortgage loan but were making payments to XXXX with no problem every month. When I received the letter from XXXX stating that we had been sold to Carrington Mortgage it stated that if we had already sent in a payment for XXXX that it would post to Carrington or if no payment had been sent yet to send the payment to Carrington Mortgage. It gave their address and had our new loan number on it to document on a check. I never received a statement from Carrington showing when our XXXX payment with them was due or any other details on our new account with them. So I called them in XXXX to make the payment instead of mailing a check without having a statement. The payment I was making would actually be XX/XX/XXXX payment. When I called they took my payment over the phone with no problem. When XXXX came, I still had not received a statement from them, so I called in again to make a payment that month. Only this time I was told they couldnt take my payment unless I paid them the full amount due for XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. I told them they took my payment the month before with no problem and they told me the person that took my payment should not have taken it. I didnt have the money to give them XXXX payments at XXXX time so they told me I could apply for a loan modification, which would possibly lower my interest rate and it would add the past due payments onto the end of my loan and then I would only owe XXXX payment instead of XXXX. We applied for this modification in XX/XX/XXXX and we were told that they could not accept any payments from us during the process of the modification being approved, and that they would call us and notify us by mail when a decision was made. Finally the last week in XX/XX/XXXX I got a phone call from Carrington saying that we did not get approved for the modification and the only option I had would be a Formal Forbearance Plan that would last for six months starting on XX/XX/XXXX and more than XXXX our regular payment amount. They said once the Forbearance Plan was paid off our monthly payments would go back to normal. The only problem with that was since they wouldnt accept payments from us during the approval process, we were now behind six months instead of XXXX, and the payment given to us was not something we could afford. We ended up contacting Carrington and asking for the total amount due to pay off the Forbearance Plan in full and reinstate our loan. They gave me the amount and also sent me a letter showing that amount and that payments would go back to normal after it being paid off. We took a hardship out of my husbands XXXX and paid off the Forbearance Plan on XX/XX/XXXX. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I called in and made my regular payment for XXXX. They have not taken the flag off of my account that shows us being in the Forbearance Plan and due to that the XXXX payment has not posted and is in an unapplied funds account. I have called them XXXX a week for a month now trying to get this resolved and it has still not been taken care of. They are sending me letters saying that I havent paid for XXXX even though it has cleared my bank account, and you can see the money that was sent in on the payment history of the account. I havent paid them for XXXX because I am scared to send them more money and it not get applied to my payment the same way that my XXXX payment was not applied. I have reached my limit on phone calls to them trying to resolve this and nothing being done. I have an appointment with an attorney this week and hope I never have to deal with this company again.

Complaint: XXXX, 2015, I submitted a mortgage payment in the full amount owed of {$1900.00} on XXXX XXXX, 2015 to Carrington Mortgage, located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX. With previous months being current, this payment was to satisfy XXXX 's required principal, interest and escrow payment in full. Although late fees remained unpaid at this time in the amount of {$73.00} for XXXX non-sufficient ACH returns, the full amount of {$1900.00} was received, tracked and debited from my account by my credit union, but not applied to my XXXX balance with Carrington Mortgage. This action caused my account to become XXXX days past due and Carrington Mortgage submitted this payment history to the credit bureau. Upon further verification through my credit union about the payment in question, it was confirmed that {$1900.00} was in fact paid to Carrington Mortgage on XXXX XXXX, 2015. In a good faith effort, I made no fewer than XXXX calls in the month of XXXX and XXXX to Carrington Mortgage 's customer service department and to their immediate supervisors to resolve this matter. The constant response was to deny that XXXX 's payment was ever received and that my best resolution would be to work with my credit union. On XXXX XXXX, 2015, following the instructions of Carrington Mortgage, I submitted a Written Statement Of Unauthorized Debit to receive the {$1900.00} in the form of a credit back into my account so that I could withdraw official cashier funds to re-apply XXXX 's payment to my account. Ironically, XXXX 's payment of {$1900.00} was now due, but still within the grace period were no late fees were assessed. Again, in good faith, I withdrew {$4000.00} total on XXXX XXXX, to cover XXXX XXXX, XXXX and any other fees outstanding on my account. On XXXX XXXX, Carrington Mortgage acknowledged receipt of these certified funds, but chose to apply them in a manner that now reflected an outstanding balance for XXXX, 2015. After several more calls between XXXX my credit union and Carrington Mortgage, I 've concluded this is my final option for recourse to insure the funds I paid are applied correctly and that any negative credit reporting be reversed from my records.
