Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: I have repeatedly requested that Bonneville Collections provide me with an explanation of the amount they claim I owe, how that amount was calculated, account history. They have refused to provide this or any copies of documentation that this debt is in fact mine. Yet they have been willing to put this unverifiable debt on my credit report, as well as send me a continuing stream of collection letters. Please see attached.

Sued w/o proper notification of suit
Complaint: I paid the debt I owed to the collection agency on XX/XX/2016. I called to inform them that the debt had been paid through the actual place I had accrued the debt. The debt company then informed me that they were already taking me to court in an attempt to collect this debt that I have already paid off. They said that they would settle with me for {$400.00} to pay for the legal fees. I told them that I would not pay any legal fees because my debt with them has been paid off.
I have not received any notice regarding them taking this debt to court other than them telling me over the phone after I had already paid the debt in full.
I feel that this has been very wrongfully dealt with.

Threatened to take legal action
Complaint: I have a charged off debt that has been sent to Bonneville Collections. Due to some discrepancies between what the agent said, and what I saw on my credit report, I requested a call back to be scheduled for next week so I would have time to investigate the debt with the original creditor. The agent from Bonneville Collections warned that they would not schedule a call back, but rather that I would need to call back in myself because the account was going to be sent to their legal department today or tomorrow due to the length that they have had the account, and so calling back in a week would be too late to do anything. This threat of legal action infringes on my rights. Additionally, the agent would not give detailed information regarding the debt beyond the name of the original creditor and the total balance.
In summary : My net impression of the conversation with Bonneville Collections was that I had an outstanding debt which was sold to them. They wanted a payment plan to be set at the time of the call. or else it was going to be sent to their legal department either the day of the call, or the day after, with no time alloted to investigate the debt discrepancies. They are threatening legal action on a debt I disagree with due to details on my credit report and would not provide information on their end to help me to verify the debt. I refuse to blindly pay a debt after discussing vague details on XXXX phone call, and certainly do not wish to have legal action threatened to manipulate me into doing so.

Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: I am concerned about the collection attempts of an alleged owing balance. Over the last few months I have received numerous calls from XXXX XXXX about an owing balance on an account that I 'm not familiar with. As I do with all unfamiliar collection attempts, I asked her to send me the information so I can review and verify. On more than XXXX call, I provided her my employment address as follows ; XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.
XXXX, UT XXXX XXXX XXXX I have still not received any information around this " collection '' and in my last conversation was told that I can come pick up the information but you will not mail it. That is very concerning.
I am happy to review the claim, but I ask again that you mail me the information as requested to the above address.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter and I wait for your information.

Debt is not mine
Complaint: I am in collections for a utility in a city and state that I have never lived. The collections agency said I had to call the police and report identity theft. I called the XXXX Police and they said since it is XXXX account and not total identity theft it is most likely an error. I have disputed the debt multiple time with the collector and with the credit agencies but each time the debt collector reaffirms that this is my debt. I have never lived anywhere near XXXX Idaho, where the original creditor says the account was opened. I asked for proof of identification that was used to satisfy opening the original account and no one can provide me with any of those details. This is not my debt and it is damaging my credit as it is the only negative item I have.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: this company ( Bonneville Collections ) has failed on multiple levels on the validation of this debt. I have the letters stating the amounts owed are between $ XXXX-XXXX in interest alone every time i 've gotten correspondence from them. Original amount is {$240.00} per original creditor yet they claim its $ XXXX-XXXX??? thats THEIR fees and charges. What gives them any lawful right to do this? .. violation of fdcpa 808 ( 1 ) since i NEVER HAD A contract with the original creditor, so how can they legally do this?. i also have credit reports from XXXX and XXXX for the same dispute cycle stating different amounts owed. How is this possible if their supposedly '' verified!? '' remember all account info is supplied by Data Furnishers per FCRA 623 NOT the Bureaus responsibility. Also the account they have been claiming was from the original creditor is wrong! as i have the original creditor own statement and account number is XXXX digits off.How is it then Validated?

Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/16 I sent a letter to Bonneville Collections requesting validation for an entry on my credit report. I 've attached several supporting documents as well as the letter I sent them. According to the USPS tracking number, they signed for my letter on XXXX/XXXX/16. I then waited 4 weeks from that date hoping to hear from them, which I did not. After the 4 weeks I filed a dispute with XXXX and XXXX, fully outlining everything that has taken place and including copies documents that I sent Bonneville. The XXXX bureaus started a dispute on my behalf. During the time my XXXX credit reports of both bureaus described above where updated by Bonneville. They never validated the debt, and during this time that they are supposed to be doing such, they made changes to my reports. According to the FDCPA act they are to suspend collection activities until validation as been supplied. Furthermore, upon looking into this company, they are NOT licensed or bonded in my state to be operating as a collection agency. You can view the XXXX code in my letter. So not only are they violating FDCPA laws, but they are also violating state law.
