Complaint: Due to my account being overdrawn on XXXX/XXXX/2016 I was charged a overdraft fee of XXXX which I paid but not right away with no problem due to my error. I received an emailing stating I had until XXXX/XXXX/2016 to take care of bringing my account current or I would be charged additional/extended XXXX which I did on XXXX/XXXX/2016 which was apparently to late. it does not matter to the bank that I was charged the additional even when my account was current the only concern was I had 5 business days to correct and it was not done according to their procedure business day.

Complaint: I accidentally chose my bank of america account to pay my credit card bill this month. I almost never use that account and there was n't enough money to cover it. Ideally, they would have rejected the payment, which they did a few years ago when I made this same error for a larger payment. This time, they paid it and charged me XXXX. I immediately transferred funds over to cover the difference and forgot about it for a week. I came back to look the other day but now I 'm still overdrawn because they allowed a {$1.00} recurring payment to go through and charged another XXXX and then another XXXX. So now my stupid mistake of selecting the wrong account on a mobile drop-down has cost me XXXX and is probably still being racked up because it takes 2-3 business days to get the money through ACH. This is a fat-finger nightmare that is indicative of why Bank of America is America 's most hated financial institution. I am lucky in that this financial hardship wo n't break me, but I know many people for whom this debacle would cause an irreparable financial tailspin. I do not believe that I have ever opted into an overdraft services. I do not want BOA covering payments for me BECAUSE they charge exorbitant, predatory fees for doing so.

Complaint: My partner and I bought a house together. We were not married. I was the XXXX of our XXXX kids and had not had any income for 7 years prior to applying for a mortgage. Bank of America approved our loan in 2007. About 2 years later, when the housing crisis hit, my relationship also tanked. My ex stopped paying our mortgage. There were several refi programs available, but neither Bank of America nor XXXX would allow me to apply for refinancing stating I was not the primary borrower. The net effect : they allowed me to be on the mortgage despite having no income. When I tried to refi, they said no, but were still holding me liable for the debt. It seems they discriminated against me in that they were holding me liable yet not offering me the same relief they were offering others who wanted to refi. The house went into forclosure. I want my name cleared and the forclosure off my credit record because they refused to help me in the way they were willing to work with my ex as the " primary '' borrower.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2016 I received a refund check from my insurance company, XXXX. When I called them, they told me that my home owner 's policy had been canceled. A new policy had been issued, but was not paid for. I went to a local Bank Of America office on XX/XX/2016, from whom I have my mortgage. They repeatedly told me that BoA could not have canceled the policy. They also told me they had paid for the policy, twice, in XX/XX/XXXX. After much repetition, BoA acknowledged that they had altered my policy without my permission, to change the deductible for wind damage from XXXX % to XXXX %. They also reduced my coverage for personal property loss. According to XXXX, BoA called at least 4 times from XXXX XXXX. There were no specific notes on any of these calls. The cancellation and reissue were handled at the XXXX office, not my agent, but the policy was given a new agency code, still with my previous agent XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX, DE. I believe that neither party should have altered my policy ( paid for with my money ) without my knowledge and approval. No one can explain why they were able to or justified in doing so. I am enclosing a copy of the new policy, which I received only because I asked for it today, which includes the details of the agent, the issuer, and the mortgage holder. I wish both parties to refrain from altering my policy without my knowledge and permission.

Complaint: I submitted a mailed check to Bank of America for my credit card payment on XX/XX/2016, but I do not see that it was applied to my account. Now my credit report shows I 'm delinquent on my payment. I do n't always mail my payments to Bank of America, but when I do n't have access to online payments then it should still be a reliable source. I travel XXXX for work, and I do n't always have access to my online account to monitor that my payments were processed. In this case, I 've been in XXXX XXXX, with spotty internet access. I 'm just now seeing that my payment was never applied and my credit report shows I am delinquent.

Complaint: I opened a new Bank of America account in XXXX 2016. There was an unauthorized activity on my account which caused the insufficient funds and the bank wanted to close my account based on risk assessment. But when I went to the financial center and explained them the situation, they said that the insufficient funds charge had fallen off and that I would not need to file a claim. The bank also returned the NSF fees. But now after a month, my debit card was blocked and I realized from the bank that my account is being closed all of a sudden. They also are reporting me to the chexsystems, which means that I would not be able to open a new account for next 5 years in the USA. I do n't want to get penalized by not having an account for not making a mistake. I wish to get a response as soon as possible because it would create a lot of problems for me since I am just starting with my career here.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2011 i deposited a check of XXXX into my Bank of America account. I received this check through a craiglist job that i found and i was sent was sent a check to be deposited into my account and from there purchase things and shipped them out. I received the check and the check seemed legit. Then i received a letter from the that my account was closed due to a fraudulent check. I was surprised because I did n't know it was a bad check. I was XXXX at that time and was looking for any job to be able to meet ends meet. I disputed the case with XXXX and bank of america and nothing is been done. I asked bank of america for a copy of the check and said they do n't have it because this happened XX/XX/2011. I did research after that and i was one of the people of XXXX scam where they send you and check and it bounces to be a bad check. I deposited the check and did n't touch any of that money from that check.

Complaint: 1. Purchased home in XXXX XXXX. Ajustable Rate Loan with Countrywide Mortgage. 2years fixed then adjust 2. Tried to refinance around XXXX XXXX 3. Could not afford to refinance due to ridiculous terms 4. XXXX XXXX, 1st and 2nd mortgages more than doubled. Could not afford payments due to bad economy 5. Made no more payments after XXXX XXXX 6. The loans were transferred from one company to another for 3 years. Band of America eventually supposedly had loans. They finally foreclosed on our loans in XXXX XXXX. We went to hearing and asked for original note. They did not have it. Told us to go back for a second hearing the next week which we could not attend due to work. They foreclosed. Bank of America used XXXX to foreclose on our home. SC is a judigital state. They illegally foreclosed our our home. They could not produce original note at 1st hearing. The judge allowed the foreclosure to go through anyway. 7. We tried to contact a lawyer to handle this and have been unsuccessful in acquiring one because every lawyer we speak with wants us to refinance. We absolutely REFUSE to refinance because everything with this home was done illegal. If we as consumers would have committed fraud, we would be in jail! 8. Our loans are now with XXXX. They keep sending us bills. I have recently found out that we are still owners of the home. We could move back in if we wanted to. But we are in limbo concerning this home. I found out it is what the legal system is calling a zombie house. The bank can not legally sell it or do anything with it, but neither can we. We can move back in, live in it for the rest of our lives but we can never sell it or leave it to our children. 8. The only info concerning this home on our credit reports are where Bank of America has transferred the loans. Doesnt say to what company or anything? It is derogatory on our credit reports. No other information is available. 9. We need to know what to do with this home due to Bank of America 's illegal foreclosure? And we want it removed off our credit reports. I hope this is the right place to help us take care of this situation? XXXX.

Credit line increase/decrease

Complaint: I recently requested an increased credit line from Bank of America to a total line of {$3000.00}. Over the phone they told me they would see if they could approve me for that level. Instead they exceeded {$4000.00}. Months ago I had requested that they decrease my credit line to {$1500.00} and instead they closed my account and I had to re-apply.

Complaint: When I lost my job in 2010 during the recession, I contacted Bank of America to see if they could work something out to lower my monthly payments. I did not want to risk not being able to make full payments and ruin my perfect credit due to the reduction in income. The representatives said there was nothing they could due because my account was current and they did not have any programs for which I was eligible. I continued to make timely payments for as long as I could, but one month I was n't going to be able to make a payment at all. I had worked on a project and was expecting a large sum of money but I did n't know exactly when the payment would come. I called to tell them but they gave the same response. After falling behind that month, they then advised me to apply for a modification. I applied for the modification and they said it would take about 30-60 days to complete the process. In the meantime, money from my project came in and I was able to pay myself current on the loan. I contacted BOA to tell them that I wanted to pay my loan current but they said that they could not accept a payment and that I should wait for the modification to go through. Then the robo calls started. The scenario consisted of an auto call, then a rep got on the line saying they were contacting me to see if i could make a payment. I would tell them that I could ; then they would transfer me to another department. That rep would then say they could not take a payment. This harassment went on for well over a year. They would call 5-6 times daily, pretending to be collecting a payment. When asked about the modification, they would say it was still pending. Yet, they started foreclosure proceedings event though the " modification '' was still pending. In desperation, I contacted an outside non profit. Through their assistance the foreclosure proceedings were stopped within 15 days of sale of my property. Then the modification finally came through, but the mortgage payments were even higher than they were initially. It was a complete nightmare. BOA sent me a check for {$500.00}. It said " settlement '', but there was no explanation nor admission of wrong doing included with the check. I was only recently made aware of the damage they have done to my credit with this situation. Then I did an internet search and ran across an article that reported what BOA had done to thousands of its customers in an attempt to force us into foreclosure by rejecting or delaying modifications. I did n't know about the lawsuit at the time or that they were doing this to thousands of customers. I just cashed the check and went on with my life. They were sued and sent us these measly settlement checks. Yet they have not cleared my credit and it is preventing me from moving forward with my life. I have contacted the reporting agencies and they say BOA responded that their reporting is accurate when in fact it is not.
