Complaint: I received numerous letters and phone calls from this collection agency over the course of years. I did not recognize the debt however in order to rid myself of the problem, when I received a letter that was an offer of settlement for an amount that I could afford, I sent in the payment. I 've since learned that this debt is barred by the Statute of Limitations and not even on my credit any longer! Instead of receiving a letter acknowledging the debt payoff, I received another bill for the balance! I wrote on the back of the check and on the return stub ( see attached ) that it was an accord and satisfaction. I hope this will stop them from trying to revive the debt. Outrageous!

Complaint: I made a payment agreement around XXXX 2014 with Allied Interstate about a non-federal private student loan that I am in default. Last month due to hardship I requested a month off payments. After that period they started attempting to call me. I requested not to be called since they always interrupt me while working. They debited my bank account already, thus resuming payments, yet they continue to call non-stop demanding to give me an update.
