Complaint: There was an offer from American Express for adding authorized users on their XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX points after {$500.00} spending. I added my family member and the {$500.00} spending was completed in XX/XX/XXXX.
XX/XX/XXXX : First contacted Amex regarding the bonus points.
XX/XX/XXXX : Contacted again and was told to wait 8-12 weeks ( the spending was completed in XXXX ) XX/XX/XXXX : Amex made a note on my account for the delay XX/XX/XXXX : Amex opens investigation which could take 6-8 weeks XX/XX/XXXX : No update on the investigation. Told to wait XX/XX/XXXX : Claims Amex has " technical issue due to which the points are not posted '' and was told to wait XX/XX/XXXX : Was told they are working on it XX/XX/XXXX : Still working, they left a note on the account XX/XX/XXXX : Was told to wait ; claims they are still working on it.
I have the statements for the spending and the promotional statement. Not sure why they are refusing to give out the reward points they promised.

I have notified my local Police department of these fraudulent accounts and have made a police report ( # XXXX ), also I have taken the proper steps to report these accounts to the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( FTC ) and filed fraud/identity theft reports with them along with contacted my local XXXX field agenct office in XXXX XXXX to report these accounts.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2017 i went on XXXX to see if there are any interesting credit card offers for me, after putting in my information including the last 4 digits of my social security number an offer came up offering XXXX Amex Membership rewards point for signing up for the Platinum card, I clicked on the offer, it then requiredme to log in to my americanexpress.com account, after that I got to a page with the offer, it required me to put in a few basic information, I read through the entire offer including all the terms and condition and I found to be eligible for this offer, it did not state anywhere that the offer is not available to applicants who have had this product before, so i went ahead and applied for this offer, I got approved and completed the required spending threshold, but when it came the time frame of receiving the bonus I saw that no point came in, I called American Express and they informed that since I already had this card in the past I am not eligible to receive the signup bonus, so I said that there was no mention about this in the application, they insisted that it does state that in the pplication, I asked them to open a complaint, after waiting months the case just closed saying " case was closed as Non Amex error as no defect was found post investigation '', this is unacceptable as American Express was clearly saying that I will get the signup bonus and they have no reason to deny me these points

Complaint: On or about XX/XX/XXXX I purchased onlinetwo XXXX tickets from XXXX to XXXX on Delta airline. At that time while I was online, I was offered a XXXX mile Delta air miles bonus and cash bonus upon use of the card to purchase an approximate {$1000.00} over a specified period of time. I applied for this card, and was immediately notified of my acceptance for this offer. I received the card in the mail on or before XX/XX/XXXX, and called and activated the card on XX/XX/XXXX. Following this activation process, I asked for a confirmation of the mileage offer which I had applied for in XX/XX/XXXX. The representative indicatedl that There was no mileage bonus for this card because I had previously had an XXXX Delta card. I then requested that they cancel the card and provide me with an email confirmation of the cancellation. They indicated that they would only notify me via mail of the cancellation.
I contend that XXXX Delta failed to honor their online offer made to me, and as a result I have cancelled a credit card which will adversely affect my credit rating.

The account was always paid in full on or b4 the due date..The LATE PAYMENTS WERE THE RESULT OF {$250.00} IN REWARD POINTS IN WHICH AMERICAN EXPRESS TOOK 60 DAYS TO APPLY TO MY ACCOUNT..I spoke to them and they refused to accept their negligence in apply the appropriate credit ON A TIMELY BASIS..

Complaint: Greetings, Attached please find the support documentation for my case against American Express. I have included the individual charges and all communication I received once my initial dispute was filed with AMEX. I have also included online news articles from multiple reputable sources covering the disappearance of our caterer.
Our caterer ( called XXXX XXXX ) charged us a total of four times for catering services scheduled to be rendered at our wedding on XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX we received word from our venue that the owner of XXXX XXXX had closed the business and taken all of the funds we had paid ( The owner is still on the run and can not be held responsible until brought to justice ). When this information was presented to American Express, they initially granted us a refund and later took it back because we gave the business permission to charge the account. While true, we authorized the company to charge in anticipation of services rendered. We were not rendered the services promised and our money was taken. This breach of contract is a clear case of fraud.
Please be in touch if there is any additional information we can provide. We have filed this complaint with the Comptroller of Currency and they have redirected us to you.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I added 4 authorized users ( AUs ) to my amex platinum card. There was a current promotion ( see attached ) by amex that showed a bonus of XXXX points per AU when each AU spends {$500.00} in the first 3 months of card membership. Each of these AU spent over {$500.00} within the first 3 months, but only one of the AUs received the XXXX bonus points. I contacted Amex about these missing points in XX/XX/XXXX, and opened a case. 8 weeks went by, and the case was closed without any resolution. Amex told me to continue waiting. I waited for an additional 8 weeks, and did not receive any resolution again. I was simply told that the Back Office was working on this case and there was nothing Amex could do to help me. It has been over 16 weeks since Ive opened the original case and have received no insight as to why I havent received this bonus or information on when I should expect to receive the bonus. Ive attached a screen shot of the promotion as well as my statement showing the spend on the AU cards.

Complaint: We initially filed a dispute with American Express in XXXX of last year, less than two weeks after returning from a trip where we had major issues with the online travel agency we had booked through, XXXX XXXX XXXX. In short, the agency, whom we had also purchased travel insurance through, under a separate name, XXXX XXXX, made our flight reservations, sent us the itinerary, then with no notification changed our return flight resulting in us missing our flight home and being delayed 36 hours and having considerable additional expense for hotel, food and incidentals. The agency of course refused to rectify anything, attempting to blame XXXX for the change, this went on for several months when we were finally able to obtain written proof from XXXX that the change was made by XXXX XXXX XXXX and not the airline. Proof was provided to American Express and the charges for the travel agency 's fee of {$780.00} were reversed with the agency not disputing the reversal. Clearly they couldn't as XXXX had in writing refuted their bogus claim and provided a copy of the change made by them. Yet the cost of the insurance purchase through XXXX XXXX XXXX ( see attached receipt for {$390.00} ) which was billed separately by them under the name of XXXX XXXX was denied for 'untimely filing ' and 'no response from the merchant '. Since when can a merchant ignore a claim and come out on top of the dispute process??? Multiple calls have been made to American Express explaining this is from the same original dispute, is the same company with an alias name, and proof has been provided of the insurance charge as well as the expenses that resulted in {$630.00} out of pocket due to the blatant negligence of the agency changing our flight with no notification and then attempting to lie their way out of any responsibility. In speaking with an American Express supervisor, XXXX, after the XXXX denial of the XXXX XXXX charge, she assured me that she fully understood the situation, that notes were made to the account and that we should submit an additional letter clarifying the situation, once again, to American Express so they could " resolve things in our favor ''. On XX/XX/2018 yet another letter detailing the specifics was sent to American Express and yet again we received an almost exact duplicate of the XX/XX/XXXX letter from them on XX/XX/XXXX claiming we were past the 60 day dispute window and the merchant had not responded so the charge was reapplied to our account, AGAIN. No amount of calls, letters, documentation, etc seems to reach the ears of these people. It has been explained over and over that the original dispute was filed almost immediately, but that it was the delay of American Express, XXXX, and the agency that led to the delay in us finally getting confirmation needed to prove that the agency was outright lying and had pocketed a fee for insurance as well as a service fee for booking our flight and then changing it with no notice resulting in considerable expense and inconvenience for us. Because the charges were billed separately American Express can not seem to understand this. It is obvious the disputes department ignores all proof, and finds it easiest to simply send out form letters over and over rather than doing the right thing. In truth, because we purchased these tickets/insurance/ and services through American Express XXXX American Express travel insurance should be responsible as well, which we have noted in several conversations, yet we are encouraged to pursue the dispute process and then wrongly denied. It appears American Express is gaining quite a reputation for this very type of action, and is no longer the 'advocate ' for their cardholders that they claim to be.

Complaint: I saw a web advertising for Amex Premier Rewards Gold Card ( -XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) what Amex mentioned {$2000.00} spending within 90days and I can get XXXX MR points. But Amex didn't give this XXXX reward points.
Amex said that I already had same card with rewards points.
But, when I apply this card, web site application didn't mention about that. And former card made long time ago.

Complaint: I paid my American Express balance in full in XXXX, based on the " unpaid balance due '' amount they published on their website ( not the statement balance ). American Express claimed I didn't pay in full because they hadn't posted the interest I had accrued on the " average daily balance for the month '' yet. They charged a full month 's interest on the balance I paid, even though it was not at the end of the month ( did not pro-rate the interest ), and because I owed this unstated interest, and the balance was considered " unpaid '', I continued to accrue additional interest on the unpaid balance. Even though I paid the stated balance due two months in a row, I continued to accrue unstated interest and thus, was considered to be carrying a balance. Additionally, according to American Express ' policy, by carrying this balance, I was not eligible for a grace period for any new purchases. A credit card 's standard grace period is 23 days before a purchase begins to accrue interest. However, because I was carrying a balance - this unstated interest amount - my purchases were not eligible for that 23 day grace period. ALL of my purchases began accruing interest on the day of purchase. The result was {$45.00} in interest due on a statement with {$62.00} purchase! I believe this policy represents usury, and is unethical, if not illegal.

Complaint: I have contacted the credit reporting agencies numerous times over the past year to have them dispute these credit inquiries from my credit report. Each time I have called and asked to have them to dispute the inquiries they have informed me to call the creditor directly to have them to correct the error. How can I contact the person listed on my credit without all the information needed to dispute it directly with the person that put it on my credit report.
