Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I applied and was approved for the American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit Card ending in XXXX. My first statement closed on XX/XX/XXXX and I earned XXXX XXXX points, the points werent transferred to my XXXX/XXXX account. The second statement closed on XX/XX/XXXX and I earned XXXX XXXX points, the points werent transferred to my XXXX/XXXX account as well. The third statement closed on XX/XX/XXXX and I still didnt get any of the points I earned since I opened this card transferred to my XXXX/XXXX account.
Over the last 3 months, I have contacted American Express countless times via Phone, Chat and XXXX to inquire about the issue. I was told to wait 6-8 weeks for points to be transferred, when the 8 weeks passed, I was told to wait for the third statement to close. However, the third statement closed on XX/XX/XXXX and the points are still On Hold by American Express.
I was never given an explanation of whats going on with my account. I no longer have access to see my points balance at americanexpress.com, this section, located at the right upper corner of the credit card online profile, has been disabled by American Express. They charged me an annual fee for a card I dont have access to its main benefit.

Problem with direct deposit
Complaint: This is a complaint for the American Xpress XXXX card. Last night on XX/XX/18 I tired accessing the mobile app and web website to check my balance. Nothing would load on either one, so I called customer service. They said the systems were down and to call back in 1-2 hours. I waited until this morning XX/XX/18 and again both systems are down. I should have my direct deposit form work today and I cant access any of the funds to pay my bills or get groceries. When I called customer service back, they again said systems are down and it would be 1-2 hours and to try then. I advised them that what they told me last night. The woman form customer service said sorry there isn't anything she can do. So here it is, 5 more hours later and still no access to see my funds, or most importantly to use my funds to pay bills and eat. This is completely unacceptable and you would never hear about an issue like this on the " regular '' credit card side of things. Where is the business continuity plan for the XXXX side of Amex? This is costing me and many others a ton of inconvenience, frustration, and again most importantly money!

Problem with customer service
Complaint: So this is the third time this has happened with bluebird 's American Express card and hundreds of others are experiencing the same problem. You will get notified that you have received a direct deposit from your job into your bank account but for some reason, the bluebird card website goes down and you have no access to those funds whatsoever except the money that was already on it before you received the direct deposit. Customer service informed me and others that this was due to a system update. ( They should not have notified me of my direct deposit if I can't have access to my money. ) On top of all of this, the website is down and you can't check your balance. Also if you try to call the number bluebird provides you on the back of the card, it is automatic and there is no possibility of speaking to a customer service representative or a live person. I and others are considering a class action lawsuit because no institution reserves the right to hold your money like this. The clear explanation of all of this is interest. American Express is involved in financial fraud and is illegally freezing peoples deposits in order to gain from the interest!!! The LAWSUITS ARE COMING!

Trouble using the card to spend money in a store or online
Complaint: I am writing because last night around XXXX I got my usual deposit into my account. The amount deposited is in the screen shot I attached. I also still had around {$36.00} in my account. Bluebird has been down and the system is starting I'm {$510.00} negative due to there technical difficulties. However, I have to pay rent and if I dont get it in by tomorrow I may lose my place. I also can not use my card and I scared that something is really wrong. This is not fair to me being kept from my money and I am ending up with a bad situation due to this.

Complaint: I have an American Express Serve card this the 4th time I have had an issue with my receiving my money. XX/XX/2018 I couldn't receive my income taxes because there is always with the system. In XX/XX/2018 my DD was late they shut the phones off so customer couldn't get through. On XX/XX/2018 while on vacation in Tennessee I didn't have access to my account for 2 hours and now on today XX/XX/2018 I have called 5 times about why I have received my direct deposit I was given the run around. I couldn't pay my bills that were due today and now my phone will be off tomorrow and I don't have any food this is ridiculous. I opened an account at real bank I just need my money.

Complaint: Bluebird through American expresss advertises get youre deposit up to two days early in which I always have in prior. Well yesterday was the day XX/XX/2018 it should have arrived and it hadnt. Already received email from employer indicating it was sent to bank. They ( bluebird ) didnt see it posted. I waited till today XX/XX/2018 and still not however when I tried to log in my account it wouldnt let me due to system issues on their end ) I call and they tell me they see it but theyre updating system give it 2-4 hours. Time passed and I call back and tell me 2-4 hours again. I used my actual bank account yesterday after hours expecting to be able to pull out the money from bluebird to cover it before overdraft fees occurred now I have less than one hour before the bank closes which locks in me getting fees because there now holding my check 2 days passed what it should have been. Im highly upset and expect my money and my fees to be credited to me or my bank. This is so not acceptable. They advised me upon one call they have gave fees back before and I understand I chose to use my bank card that caused the fees but in my defense they were to remain consistent with providing my deposits as they have in the past. Its not my fault that they decided to cause such delays going on past 2 days so therefore I dont consider this my fault at any reason.

Complaint: 'Amex advocate ' don't show me {$100.00} credit for a prior offer. Since this 'new offer ' attached, dated XX/XX/2018, " I didn't get the credit you promised ''.
I received an offer from amex by email 'XX/XX/2018 '. This is what it said. Add new Additional Card Members to your account through this email and earn a {$25.00} statement credit after they spend {$250.00} in purchases on their Card in their first 3 months of Card Membership ( limit of four {$25.00} statement credits ). Offer ends XX/XX/2018. I did so and added 4 new members to my cc account, but I didn't receive the {$100.00} credit since this 'NEW ' offer attached.

Complaint: I recently applied for and received an American Express XXXX XXXX. This card is advertised to earn 4X Membership Rewards for Restaurants. My last statement has multiple restaurant charges that DO NOT earn the advertised 4X. I contacted American Express about these discrepancies and was told that these charges did not earn 4X because the restaurant did meet the criteria. However, the charge is clearly labeled Restaurant : Restaurant by American Express 's own data.
During the Chat - American Express would only look at individual charges and NOT all the Restaurant : Restaurant charges that did not earn the 4X.

Complaint: I applied for an American Express XXXX gold card through a solicitation I received as a result of being an XXXX platinum elite member participant. I received email notification within minutes stating my application was declined " because American Express cancelled ( my ) previous account ''. I do not recall having an American Express account. May be my wife? Or Business account? The declination letter also stated I could contact AMEX customer service, which I did. The agent that I spoke with advised me that he could not locate any prior account in my name and was unsure why I would be declined for an account. I asked if I had perhaps been an authorized user on someone else 's account and was told there was no record of that either. I have very good credit and have never been declined for a credit card, car loan or mortgage loan. I would like someone at AMEX to review my application and inform me in more detail the reason it was declined.

Complaint: I applied for an American Express Serve Card when filing my federal tax return through an online tax software called XXXX. The online advertisement for Serve states there is a {$1.00} monthly fee for the card which can be made by setting up a direct deposit of at least {$500.00} monthly. I applied for the card and had my tax refund of {$1200.00} sent to the card, the date of card application and deposit is XX/XX/2018. I received the card within 14 days of completing the online application. On the date I received the card, I arranged for a direct deposit of {$110.00} weekly ( {$110.00} x 52 weeks/12 = {$500.00} monthly ).
On XX/XX/2018, I noticed a {$4.00} fee charged to my AMEX Serve account. Further research shows AMEX Serve charged me {$4.00} monthly for the entire time I've had this card. I called AMEX Serve on XX/XX/2018, in which I spoke to a customer service representative name XXXX. The phone call was placed at approximately XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2018, to number XXXX. XXXX states, " I must make a monthly lump sum payment of {$500.00} to qualify for the no-fee months ; the system does not recognize weekly payments. '' I dispute that ; my first month I had a lump sum direct deposit of {$1200.00}, the computer charged me a {$4.00} fee that month.
I followed the literature directions to avoid a monthly fee. AMEX Serve still charged me a monthly fee.

Credit card company won't increase or decrease your credit limit
Complaint: I went through a rather opaque process of trying to increase my spending power for my American Express card for a family trip I am planning in XX/XX/2018. The online chat agent was very helpful and told me to call the Account Services phone number. When I called them, the agent there was very friendly as well but gave no specific reasons as to why they couldn't increase the limit. He mentioned that it will increase from time to time, but it's been 18 months of good standing and I still don't have any more clarity into actionable reasons as to why they can't increase the limit. It's forced me to pay intramonth, which is more an inconvenience than anything.
