Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I opened a billing dispute with American Express for a charge of {$700.00} that was authorized on XX/XX/2018 to the merchant " XXXX ''. This charge was for haircut and color I had done at this salon. I disputed the transaction because the stylist didn't provide me with the service I requested and the service was defective. Dispute reason code : C32. I provided American Express with a letter explaining what happened and why I'm disputing the charge. More importantly, I provided a copy of the text messages conversation with the merchant showing that she offered to " fix '' my haircut and color at no additional charge which constitutes an acknowledgment from her that her service was defective and needed to be re-done. I also provided American Express with pictures of the service I requested versus pictures of the service I received. I contacted American Express today, XX/XX/2018, to inquire about the status of this case and was told that the dispute was closed in Merchant 's favor because the merchant provided a copy of a signed document showing that I authorized the transaction and paid a tip. It's the standard at Women 's hair salons to pay a tip and It doesn't mean the customer is happy with the service, I actually paid her the least acceptable tip and as I explained in my letter, I didn't realize the service was defective until I went back home and had the proper lighting and took pictures of my hair to document the defective service I received. I am astonished that Amercian Express Ignored the fact that the Merchant acknowledged the service was defective by offering to " Fix '' my hair at no additional charge and closed the case in Merchant 's favor based on the signed document that I authorized the transaction. The reason code for my dispute is C32 : Service Defective NOT F14 ( Missing Signature ), F24 ( No Card Member Authorization ) or A02 ( No Valid Authorization ).

Complaint: I have been with American Express for more than 10 years and I have had a few or maybe no late fee and interest charge on my card. I an attempt to upgrade my gold card, I was offered to apply for a new platinum Delta Skymile card. Since I had an autopay on the gold card, I thought it will be automatically applied for the new platinum. On XX/XX/XXXX, I saw that there is a {$27.00} charge on my card as a fee for late payment. I immediately called and asked for a courtesy reimbursement which was done, then I realized that there is an interest fee that Amex also applied to my account : {$480.00} ; I called Amex and a lady answer my phone, she told me that they would reverse the fee to my account if I pay the amount due, which I did immediately with her on the phone. She told me that the payment will take effect between 24-48hrs and I should just call after than to get the money back ( she made a note of it ). Today I called to ask for the reimbursement, but this time the customer representative and the supervisor ( XXXX ) I spoke with where no help and drove me to a point where I would like to cancel my card. They where not understanding and kept interrupting me and going in their own loop. In the end, I hung up frustrated and annoyed. I am using this card a lot for my travelling and others, unfortunately I have to cancel this card, my wife 's and my other blue Amex if no action is taken. I will also take legal actions against Amex and XXXX, because this is unfair and limit taking customer money when you are supposed to be protecting customer 's interest

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, my check was direct deposited on my American Express Bluebird card. I got off work at around XXXX XXXX. I then loaded my family up and went to gas station to put {$60.00} in my tank and 2 packs of smokes. I knew that I had {$830.00} on my card after paying for insurance and making a few other purchases. When I ran my card, it was declined. Ran again and agan declined. Tried withdrawing from ATM and was declined. Checked my balance on app and seen that I only had XXXX cents left. Upon further checks, I noticed 2 transfers that I didn't authorize. One was for {$500.00} and the other was for {$330.00}. It should also be noted that a third transfer was present for {$330.00} but was canceled. {$500.00} was transfered to somebody by the name of XXXX XXXX. That same person also had the cancelled {$330.00} transfer going to her/him. The {$330.00} transfer that went through was to a XXXX XXXX. I do not know either of these people. I tried telling this to American Express but in their initial investigation they found no errors. They don't call employer as the first transfer happened at XXXX. Which I didn't know till after work. I've been waiting close to a week arguing with these people only to keep getting the run around. No numbers for investigation department, same for email. Absolutely no contact or support. Now, I still don't have my money back, an answer to second investigation. This company has a history of things like this happening and denying legitimate claims. Something needs to be done. All I want is what's rightfully mine. {$830.00} is a lot of money in my family. I have emails as proof and employer may be called for verification that I was in fact at work. I also should note that my card was in my wallet in my back pocket all day. No one had access to it.

Complaint: I was sent an email onXX/XX/2018 from my company email address who I thought was from my XXXX XXXX XXXX with my company. He had asked me to purchase XXXX XXXX gift cards for our elite clients, 20 in the amount of {$100.00} each which is not unusual for our company around the holiday season. After, I was to scratch off the back and to send him the codes. I tried several stores but was unable to purchase them until I finally went to XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX., where I was allowed to purchase the 20 cards in the amount of {$2000.00}. Instead of typing in all of the codes, I took photos of them and sent them by email to my XXXX, the real XXXX XXXX. Later I than called him to be sure he received my email and he had no clue what I was talking about and never asked for the codes. I then when back to XXXX to return the unused gift cards but they said they were nonrefundable but opened up a case and took copies of my DL and receipts. They said someone would contact me but nobody has yet to this day. So then I went home and contacted XXXX XXXX where they told me the same thing but they were going to have the incident investigated and get back to me but they have not yet either. I have a conformation email from my conversation with XXXX that Friday evening when I spoke with them right after it happened and they stated that the cards were never used and to contact my local police department to file a report. I also spoke with American Express from which I purchased the gift cards with, XXXX and XXXX XXXX and they all said there is nothing they can do to help me get my money back. I still have the gift cards and they have not been used, I just need to somehow try to find a way to get the money back from either XXXX XXXX or American Express.

I APPLIED FOR AN AMERICAN EXPRESS PLATINUM CARD AND RECEIVED AN EMAIL NOTICE THAT A DELTA SKY MILES CARD WAS BEING SENT TO ME. I CALLED AND SAID I DID NOT WANT A DELTA SKY MILES CARD AND INSTRUCTED THEM TO TAKE ME OUT OF THEIR SYSTEM AND TO NOT ISSUE A SKY MILES CARD. THEY INSISTED THEY COULD NOT TAKE ME OUT OF THEIR SYSTEM. I FIRST SPOKE TO SOMEONE NAMED XXXX I THINK. SHE TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE CARD WAS ISSUED AND THEN CALL TOMORROW TO CANCEL IT. I TOLD HER THAT WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE, THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CANCEL A CARD THAT I NEVER APPLIED FOR, THAT IT WAS ILLEGAL FOR A COMPANY TO ISSUE A CARD THAT WASNT APPLIED FOR. I SAID I WANTED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. SHE SAID I COULD NOT BUT FINALLY SENT ME TO SOMEONE NAMED XXXX, WHO SAID HE WAS AN ACCOUNT SUPERVISOR, ID # XXXX. HE REPEATED THE SAME STORY AND I TOLD HIM I WANTED TO SPEAK TO THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT. HE SAID WE DO NOT HAVE A LEGAL DEPARTMENT. I SAID I DID NOT BELIEVE THAT. HE SENT ME TO ACCOUNT MANAGER XXXX, ID # XXXX, WHO SAID SHE COULD NOT CONNECT ME TO THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT. I THEN SAID I WANTED TO SPEAK TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT AND SHE SENT ME TO A MAN NAMED XXXX, WHO REFUSED TO GIVE ME A FULL NAME AND WHO SAID HE DID NOT HAVE AN ID #. HE SAID I SHOULD TALK TO THE NEW ACCOUNTS FRAUD DEPARTMENT. I ASKED HIM TO TRANSFER ME AND HE SENT MY CALL TO THE MAIN NUMBER WHICH OFFERED THE SAME PROMPTS THAT A NEW CALLER WOULD HAVE TO SELECT FROM. I BELIEVE IT IS FRAUDULENT FOR A COMPANY TO ISSUE YOU A CREDIT CARD YOU DID NOT APPLY FOR. IF IT ISNT IT SHOULD BE. I APPLIED FOR A PLATINUM CARD. IF THEY DID NOT WANT TO GIVE ME ONE THEY SHOULD HAVE JUST TURNED ME DOWN. INSTEAD THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO SEND A DELTA SKY MILES CARD WHICH I DIDNT APPLY FOR AND DIDNT WANT, AND THEN SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL IT WAS ISSUED AND CANCEL IT, WHICH OF COURSE WOULD AFFECT MY CREDIT RATING. THE EMAIL THAT WAS SENT TO ME HAD A LINK TO LOOK AT THE RESULTS OF MY APPLICATION. WHEN I CLICKED THE LINK IT SAID A DELTA SKY MILES CARD WOULD ARRIVE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. IT ALSO NOTED THE PLATINUM CARD APPLICATION HAD BEEN CANCELLED. I WONDER HOW MANY CREDIT CARDS ARE BEING ISSUED THAT PEOPLE HAVE NOT APPLIED FOR, AND I WONDER IF AMERICAN EXPRESS IS DOING THIS BECAUSE IT REALIZES THAT THERE ARE FEW PENALTIES FOR CORPORATIONS THAT ILLEGALLY CREATE CONSUMER ACCOUNTS. ( XXXX XXXX points eligible in total for this offer ) I participated this promotion, and made three $ 150+ payments on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX respectively ( which were eligible before the promotion deadline of XX/XX/XXXX ). I got XXXX XXXX points on XX/XX/XXXX, but the remaining XXXX XXXX points has never shown up on my account. I contacted AMEX through their customer service chat channel on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX asking about the XXXX XXXX points. AEMX customer service admitted that this particular XXXX XXXX points has been issued, but never posted to my account, which means that my participation is eligible but AMEX just does not give the XXXX XXXX points to me. Each time I contacted AMEX, the customer service representative and even their manager would say to submit a request with high priority for their back office people to investigate, but the points never came to my account after I have been waiting patiently and politely for more than 6 weeks from when I started the first inquiry, and for more than 8 weeks from when I made the eligible spending.

Complaint: on XX/XX/18 from approximately XXXX XXXX to approximately XXXX XXXX I was repeatedly emailed, called, and texted by numerous employees of American Express regarding my account. I spoke with at least 5 individuals none of whom would provide me with a clear and concise explanation of their reasons for contacting me. Each individual asked me multiple questions over and over again only to transfer me to others who repeated the same questions looking for more and more information. In short I provided my name, credit card number, address, pin number, social security number, telephone numbers, and other information over and over again without learning why they were questioning me. I spoke with a manager named XXXX XXXX ( call # 3 or 4 ) who transferred me to a representative named XXXX who refused to provide her full name for this complaint. When I asked for her full name she hung up on me. Since XX/XX/18 to today I and my wife have received emails and phone message to call American Express that provide no way to respond except by contacting a general customer service which is what led to this complaint in the first place. Apparently American Express feels they can bully senior citizens with these tactics. I have been a cardholder with this firm for XXXX years which breaks down to at least XXXX monthly bills paid in advance of due date. Never in XXXX years have I failed to pay a bill on time in full.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I had been informed not by letter, not by phone not in any formal process at all but I have been informed that my credit line was getting decreased almost {$7000.00} {$6900.00} by email. I immediately gave American Express a call I asked them why they did not let me know ahead of time and they stated that they would be sending me a letter. I believe they should have informed me they were going to lower my credit limit prior to actually doing so. I am doing this complaint because I believe some of the actions and things that American Express are doing are illegal. When I spoke with the representative she informed me that if I pay {$3100.00} by XX/XX/XXXX American Express would agree to give me my credit limit back. Originally we had agreed that they would take over my credit limit that I had with the previous company and that agreement I was told I could pay the minimum payments no consequences and repercussions will be brought upon me for doing so. At this point that is exactly what is happening. Also, although the American Express representative expressed this information to me over the phone I gave them a call and I let them know I will pay you the {$3100.00} if you send me an agreement in writing that you will give me my credit back for sure it is a guarantee. The representative simply assured me did they would but said that they can not send it to me in writing which to me sounds strange and not trustworthy at all. I feel as though American Express has went back on their contract that we solidified in the beginning. It's unfortunate that they would give you a certain credit line can remove it from you without notice, & say if you give them a large amount of money they will give it back. This seems to me like bribing and threatening. American Express is making me pay them substantial amount of money under duress which is not fair or legal. In addition American Express lowered my credit limit at an important time in my life ... My credit score has dropped because they took it upon themselves to decrease my credit limit.

I also suspect they change the terms without customer 's agreement. They both useless and unable to help and provide inconsistent and inaccurate information misleading the customers. XXXX # XXXX I apply the blue cash reward credit card online on XX/XX/XXXX on Amex website with the promotion of spend {$1000.00} in 3 months to get XXXX dollar. I applied through the link below. In the middle of the application, I also received a technical error image like the picture in the link below for {$60.00} inconvenience credit. XXXX XXXX XXXX To confirm the rewards, I called customer service on earlier XX/XX/XXXX to confirm the technical inconvenience rewards. I got the confirmation from representative as well. However, I do not receive any rewards till today. To understand the reason, I called Amex representative for clarification. The first representative ( XXXX ) was not helpful and checked that rewards doesn't applied to me. He request extra time to investigate. I disagree with him and request to escalate the issue. He get back to me and mentioned he will provide me the rewards since i already spend more than XXXX XXXX I mentioned the technology inconvenience fee to him, but he had no clue regards this issue. So I request his manager to call me back ASAP. He is very self-protective and didn't want to provide more meaning information even share his name. He waste me 30 minutes without provide any assistance. But he promise his manager give me a call back in 15 minutes His manager XXX called me back in 15 minutes. I mentioned to her the {$60.00} technology inconvenience. She also has no clue about it. I XXXX the Amex tech bonus online and found the picture. I mentioned that to her and emphasize that I saw the same webpage with different rewards amount. I found the image from the link below and found the image is similar to the webpage I saw two months ago when I applied the credit card : XXXX : XXXX Clearly, XXXX does not believe me and she mentioned she will XXXX the webpage and get back to me. She will place my phone on hold. I wait 30 minutes for her to get back to me. But she couldn't found anything. I am seriously doubt her ability to working as a supervisor for the representative. I told her the keywords and teach her how to XXXX Amex tech inconvenience fee. She was shocked and she mentioned that she need escalate to US team now. I am very unhappy since she already waste me more than half an hour but I try to be patient with her. When she conferenced me to the US Amex customer service, she was plan to hang out the call. I double checked with her for the {$150.00} rewards. She mentioned to me that I am not qualify and they are ineligible for credit me on that. I was totally shocked!! How can Amex keep misleading and lie to their customer? I feel like that is a fraud for the Amex customer service. She explained that she has the right to override the credit card term. I got shocked again. I spend one hour with Amex representative but they were unable to help and keep lie to their customer. I feel very mad about that. Since the US colleague is still on the line, I ask her to call me back in one hour. I insists that her manager should call me back not her. But she told me is weekend time, so her manager was not available. I am shocked again. She waste me one hour but use her manager as an excuse. Only her manager has the rights to rest in the weekend NOT her customer. I am very mad about that. And I asked her to call me back since i need to focus on talking with the US customer representative which also on the same line for the technology rewards issue. But XXXXXX just hang the call and close all the communications. My feeling is Amex customer service is absolutely useless, unhelpful and even lie to their customer!!! I am serious consider close all of my Amex account.
