Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: XXXX XXXX is failing to process my re-certification for the IDR plan. I mailed, faxed and uploaded to their portal the IDR re-certification and included my most recent tax return in XX/XX/XXXX. They denied the application claiming they didn't have the required documentation and would not allow me to upload any documents and despite faxing and mailing it again they did not process the request. I resubmitted the application again on XX/XX/XXXX the day after they notified me that I had a new payment plan but there was no balance listed on the portal or in the paperwork. They denied the application again this time claiming it could not be processed because my payment was past due more than 15 days even though the alleged payment wasn't due until XX/XX/XXXX and I was not even informed of the payment amount until they denied the application on XX/XX/XXXX. So based on their own timeline, the basis for denying the application is erroneous. I immediately applied for forbearance but they claim it will take 10 days to review the request which will make me 30 days late and disqualify me from IDR loan forgiveness. This is bad faith, illegal, and they are intentionally causing people to default on student loans.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: This has to do with PSLF. PLSF is a sham. XXXX XXXX XXXX is not acting in good faith. They incorrectly entered my employment dates twice ( clerical errors ) - once at a small XXXX XXXX and once at more current employer. It took over 18 months to rectify the situation - even to get them to respond to the issue.
When they finally did respond to the issue, they corrected the dates but only counted a a small percentage of the actual qualifying payments. Sometimes citing a few cents difference as to why I would not get credit for that months payment. I have made years of regular payments each month, but because of pennies, it will be years longer until the loans are forgiven, thereby costing me more money in interest.
Also, because of another clerical error on their part, there were a problem with my Income driven repayment plan. Each time there was a problem, I would call and get different information from the employees, often telling me to do different things to rectify the situation. The situation was never rectified. Like predators, they encouraged my to take several forbearances while they worked out the issue. I understand now, that no one was trying to solve the issue, they were merely trying to drag it out while accrued interest.
Regarding the Employment Certification Form, several employees told me that I could wait until my ten years was up and then send in the ECF. I heard this several times. Nevertheless, I still sent it in every single year. But the kicker was, this past year, they did not receive- or rather they said the did not receive it. I did put it in the mail. Regardless they said that next time I should submit the form online so they didn't lose it. It took them 2 months to tell me they didn't receive it and for some reason they put my loan on forbearance while they waited. That means that although I continued to pay my loans during that 2 months, they did not count as qualifying payments because I was on a forced forbearance, thereby extending my qualifying payment again. When I called to complain they told me that I DID need to submit my ECF every year. What is a consumer supposed to do when every time you call you get different information and then even when you pay every month ( on automatic withdrawal ) they put you on forbearance without asking and then don't count those payments.
This is a scam and they are not trying to help public servants. they are trying to scam them. And I am not the worst case. I have heard and red that they are being sued for their treatment of the PSLF program. Last year, out of thousands of people who have applied for forgiveness, only a small, small fraction have actually been forgiven. How terrible of company do you have to be to fleece public servants. And they have designed their system so there is not proof to be had. How can I prove that every time I was on the phone they told me different things? How can I prove that they told me I didn't have to turn in my employment certification each year ( even though I did )? How can I prove that they didn't ask my permission to put me on forbearance ( even though I still paid )?
This is a scam and there is no recourse from the consumer. Shame on them. Shame on the government if they allow this to go on. This is just another way for the ruling class to keep their thumb on the middle class. So XXXX XXXX can have another yacht. Shame on you XXXX XXXX!

Problem with customer service
Complaint: My loans were recently transferred from a previous service provider in order to facilitate the XXXX XXXX. The date of transfer ( according to the previous provider ... since XXXX never contacted me during the process until after it was done ) was the day after my loan payment due date. I, of course, made my payment on time. When they finally showed as transferred and I set up my account online, my account showed as several weeks delinquent and my payment for this upcoming month as double ( which I can't afford ). I called immediately and submitted a request to reflect the previous payment on my account. Several days later, this has still not been fixed and my payment due date is looming closer. I have called again and submitted requests online to be contacted confirming that it is fixed. The people on the phone are seemingly helpful but also oblivious and I have yet to be contacted based on my online email requests. To be blunt, this is ridiculous and sure as heck not a good first impression. During my very fist call about this I was informed that this is a common problem. Two issues with that statement : 1 ) If it is so common, why is it taking so long to fix, and 2 ) If people know about it, why hasn't something been done to prevent it from occurring in the first place. I will now be expecting both that the original problem is fixed, but also an apology with assurance that no issues will be handled like this again.

Account status incorrect
Complaint: AES/PHEAA has reported to the credit bureaus that I was delinquent on one of my student loans from 60/90/120 days, however, my billing letters note ( that they are able to view in my account ) that my account was in deferment. I have submitted disputes since last year and they have not resolved my issue.
They asked me to student a credit dispute from and I did. They asked me to submit my credit report and I did. They provided me with the wrong dispute form and just advised me today that, that was the discrepancy because I kept telling them I sent them the form.
We have been discussing this dispute since XX/XX/XXXX, and today was the most recent correspondence. They have caused emotional and financial stress because of there error. Credit Report notes I was late on loan from XX/XX/XXXX -XX/XX/XXXX ( 60/90/120days ).

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: To my knowledge, I was never late on my XXXX student loan with account number XXXX**** ( Opened XX/XX/XXXX ), 7XXXX**** ( Opened XX/XX/XXXX ), XXXX**** ( Opened XX/XX/XXXX ), XXXX ( Opened XX/XX/XXXX ), XXXX**** ( Opened XX/XX/XXXX ). But I realized that I was reported as being 120 days past due in XX/XX/XXXX and 150 days past due in XX/XX/XXXX which is not true because I was supposed to be in deferment but then I got current right away. And then I was reported as being 90 days past due in XX/XX/XXXX when I had already processed my paperwork to consolidate my student loans which was finalized on XX/XX/XXXX.
I have had student loans since XXXX with no late payments and not sure why all of a sudden I was reported late. To my knowledge I have always have 100 % positive payment history and have not only tried to pay way before my due date, but also have tried to pay more than the minimum amount.

Need information about your loan balance or loan terms
Complaint: I am currently enrolled in the PSLF program, having worked full-time for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX after consolidating my loans toward the 10-year/120 qualifying payments for loan forgiveness. Since my loan was purchased by loan servicer XXXX XXXX XXXX I have put in requests for updated calculations on the qualifying payments I have made ( in total - including the payments I made to prior servicer XXXX ). Over the course of a year, I have been requesting the updated calculations over the phone at XXXX XXXX XXXX. Beginning in XXXX, I was told that my request had been put in and to wait 30-XXXX days, again in XXXX I was told to wait another 30-60 days. We are now in XXXX and I have not received an updated calculation. As I am now nearing the end of my qualifying period, I require an updated calculation. I am receiving as I type the same information and no movement toward calculation of my remaining qualifying payments. Though I have paid for over 6 years and made all my payments, their online tool and their representatives show I have 110 qualifying payments remaining as though I have *only* paid 10. This is very very very incorrect.

Problem with customer service
Complaint: I have a problem with XXXX PSLF program. They said my account has been " in review '' since XXXX. I am trying to get an official letter stating the total months of eligibility I have received. They said its 24 months on the phone but they won't provide this information in writing. I have called 6 times over the last 6 months. They said their processing update time is normally " 10 to 12 month '' but since my account has been " in review '' since XXXX this is well beyond their already lengthy processing time. I would like to find out what actions I can take to force them to acknowledge my student loan forgiveness eligibility before accepting another job in a PSLF eligible field.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I have consolidated direct federal student loans, which is serviced by XXXX XXXX. I am enrolled in the PSLF program, work for a qualified employer, and have several years of qualifying payments documented by XXXX. Last year in XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted a new PSLF employment certification form, and I was only credited with 5 payments, when I had in fact made 10 qualifying payments during that time period ( XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX ). I have direct debit set up for my account, so the payment is made every month and on time. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX to have them look over the payment history again and to re-calculate the qualifying payments. I was told there was in fact a mistake on their part and they would submit a request for review - I was told this would take up to 60 days. 60 days later, in XX/XX/XXXX, I hadn't heard anything so I reached out again. I was told the request was never submitted, so I then asked to have the request " officially '' submitted. I received verbal confirmation on the call that it was submitted for review, and I should hear back in 60-90 days. 90 days passed, and I called in late XX/XX/XXXX, and I was told it would take 6 months for the review to be completed. I just recently called again on XX/XX/XXXX, and spoke to a representative named XXXX ( ID # XXXX ), and was now informed the process takes 12-15 months and I should check back in at that point. I am frustrated because the timeline keeps getting pushed back, and the experiences I have had thus far, indicate that when 15 months goes by, I will likely be told to wait longer. It's a simple review of my payment history, since I have auto-pay set up for the student loan accounts.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I work for a public employer ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and am enrolled in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. I submitted documentation to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX ( an Employment Certification Form ) showing 95 months of qualifying employment. These months have not been credited. I have called multiple times ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX ) attempting for find out why this extensive amount of employment has not been credited. Each time I was told it was " in processing '', " under review '', etc. Basically, the runaround. I have also submitted documentation for an additional 11 months.
Because they refuse to review the documentation submitted per their requirements on XX/XX/XXXX, I am unable to get relief. I am now approaching 120 months of qualified employment and should be eligible for relief under this program.
I would like for them to review the employment certification submitted on XXXX/XXXX and credit me for those months of qualified employment.

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: My loans were transferred to XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX after I applied to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program ( PSLF ). After much chaos with trying to establish the best repayment plan, I settled on the Standard Repayment Plan.
In XX/XX/XXXX, I was notified that my account was in " pay ahead '' status. I was told that at some point, I elected to pay more than the required monthly payment amount to decrease my overall debt. However, I do not recall electing to pay ahead, and there is no documentation showing this either. Pay ahead status would decrease the overall amount of loans forgiven in PSLF, so I do not want to be in this status. In this same phone call in XX/XX/XXXX, I requested to be taken off of pay ahead status, and was notified that my request was immediately taken care of. However, my account still says it is in pay ahead status today ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I have already called to request this be taken off, but nothing has worked.
Additionally, I am enrolled in auto-debit and was told I would see an interest rate deduction of 0.25 % after my XXXX monthly payment. This is not reflected on my account.

Complaint: I have 9 Federal student loans with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. ( Totaling {$30000.00} ) When I graduated the loans remained in deferment for a period of time. There have been no late payments and the account is up to date since speaking directly with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I do not believe I should be penalized for not being informed when the loans became due. I made a good faith effort to resolve the issue yet continue to be penalized due to the credit reporting.
