Account status incorrect
Complaint: I started school inXX/XX/XXXX at XXXX College. I was out of school from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. I never made a payment and I defaulted on my loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was also out of school XX/XX/XXXX toXX/XX/XXXX. I was then in school fromXX/XX/XXXX toXX/XX/XXXX ... XXXX then made a false claim that I made three payments of $ 600+ in XX/XX/XXXXand closed my account. Impossible since I was still in school. ( XXXX XXXX XXXX campus ). Since then I consolidated my loans and according to CA law the SOL is 4 years from time of first default to sue, well in XX/XX/XXXX, I get a notice that XXXX sold my account to Williams and Fudge. 6 Years from the first default and now Williams and Fudge is suing me. XXXX is a total SCAM!!!

Notification didn't disclose it was an attempt to collect a debt
Complaint: Williams and Fudge called claiming they initiated contact months ago, only after receiving the call did I find an email from them that had been sent months ago but contained little information other than an attached PDF with instructions on how to open it. No where in the email does it state that this is an attempt to collect on a debt and has so little information that I had initially presumed this to be a phishing email.
It doesn't not seem fair or in good faith for a debt collector to " initiate contact '' with a purposefully vague email that requires downloading an attachment just so they can start the 30 day countdown over disputing the debt. It was not until months later, after the 30 days, that I started receiving phone calls notifying me about said debt. This appears intentional on their part in order to avoid having to respond to a debt validation letter.
I was able to contact the school in order to verify that this debt was legitimate however as stated earlier this does not seem to be fair to the consumer and intentional on part of Williams and Fudge.
*I currently can't attach a pdf of the email so below is it copied.

Used obscene, profane, or other abusive language
Complaint: I mention how I wouldn't be able to pay the full balance offered because of an add on/default charge of 600 to 700 dollars and how I would rather " eat '' then starve ( from lack of financial resources ) and pay for the bill. She said " it doesn't matter, do you want the legal authorities to seize your assets? Are you ready to make a payment or not? I will put a refusal to pay on your account. '' Very unprofessional Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX.
" We don't have time for games. We see your call record. If you're not willing to pay today I will put a refusal to pay on your account. Very unprofessional

Debt is not yours
Complaint: Hello, When I was a XXXX in XXXX XXXX, before my XXXX birthday, my XXXX XXXX signed me up for a XXXX level class that I took online. Years later, I find the debt for the class on my credit report and am receiving bothersome calls from the collection agency. I never signed an agreement, but even if I had, I wasn't old enough to make an agreement to pay. I was in the public education system and I wouldn't have been able to consent to paying for a class. The debt collector is calling me constantly, has never provided any proof that I needed to pay or consented to pay for a class. I thought my school would pay for the class. My parents never signed an agreement either. Please help me if you can.

Contacted you after you asked them to stop
Complaint: A person identifying themselves as " XXXX '' called my place of employment 8 times in one day trying to get in contact with me on XX/XX/XXXX. My administrative staff believed it to be some sort of emergency because of the repeated calls. When I returned to my desk, I called the number that was left. " XXXX '' identified himself as someone working for Williams and Fudge who was looking for who they had reason to believe was my spouse about a " business matter. '' I told him that I do not know who he is and I will not confirm that the person he is looking for is my spouse, again because I do not know who he is. I told him that he is not to contact me again in attempts to contact someone else. I told him explicitly that he does not have my permission to contact me at work looking for someone else. I repeated myself that he can not call me at work and asked him if he understood. He said that he did.
Today, XX/XX/XXXX ; a man identifying himself as " XXXX '' from Williams and Fudge called me at my place of employment saying that he had to " talk to me about a business matter with my spouse. '' I recognized the name of Williams and Fudge again and said that I spoke with someone from there weeks ago that they do not have my permission to call me at work looking for someone else. I repeated myself and told him not to ever call me at work looking for someone else. I then hung up.
I believe they are harassing me. Calling constantly and ignoring my demands that they not contact me at work when they are trying to actually contact someone else. I refuse to confirm with them whether the person they are looking for is my spouse because again I do not know who they are or for what purpose they are trying to contact this other person. Regardless, they have been told multiple times that they do not have permission to call me at my place of employment.
