Problem when making payments

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Problem during payment process
Complaint: I called Wells Fargo today to make a payment with the same account information I make it with every month for the past 5 is years. I verified over 5 pieces of information like I do every month and have been doing for the past 5 years. Today they refused to take my payment from the account I gave them verifying the routing number and the bank name. The manager stated she would notate my account to make it more difficult for me to call In and make future payments even though I had correctly verified all the information where my payment was coming from.

Mortgage: Home equity loan or line of credit (HELOC)

Complaint: Wells Fargo is incorrectly reporting late payments on my home equity loan within HELOC for the months of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I have been and am current and in good standing. These inaccuracies are unfortunately impacting my credit score quite dramatically ( 80+ points ). It is extremely disappointing to have these unjust discrepancies as I have been a fantastic customer.

Complaint: I just read Wells Fargo 's response to my complaint ; you conveniently just closed it, without so much as a follow up response from me or any feedback. Please re-open this complaint against Wells Fargo. Their response was a rote, boiler plate response devoid of any personal touch, of humanity. They failed or ignored 95 % of what I documented in my complaint. Their non-response touched on the {$35.00} which I HAD REMOVED SUBSEQUENT TO MY COMPLAINT BECAUSE THE XXXX TEAM AT WELLS FARGO FINALLY RESPONDED. So Wells Fargo 's useless response regarding the {$35.00} was late and ineffective and inconsequential. As to them telling me they will not pay me interest of 1.30 %, I had to laugh, since that was mentioned to point out a FACT, not to request this fraudulent company to actually respond by paying me interest ; again that response was laughable and is WHY I DO NOT KEEP ANY RELEVANT MONEY WITH THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY. Sending me two PAGES or their hold policy was not requested, not needed, not warranted, not in any way, shape or form an adequate response from a human being. I would like a personalized response, from a human, not a boiler plate that adequately answers to every one of my many grievances with this company that shows they actually take the time to read the complaints filed on your platform. It seems the CFPB is complicit in their non-action and failure to review the responses to our complaints. How could you have closed this complaint and found it in any way satisfactory ; it was not! How can XXXX operate so differently from this very questionable company known as Wells Fargo???? That was not explained, touched on, responded to, acknowledged, or referred to. THIS IS AN INCOMPLETE RESPONSE AND A FULL RESPONSE IS EXPECTED.

Problem with a lender or other company charging your account

Checking or savings account: Checking account

Transaction was not authorized
Complaint: This complaint is in regards to Wells Fargo issuing a Debit-BD Recovery Offset from my personal deposit account ( XXXX XXXX2017 ) while I was in the middle of negotiating pay off of an outstanding Business Account Credit Card debt. I had an outstanding debt on my business credit card account for an XXXX that recently became insolvent. I was in the middle of negotiations with a Wells Fargo representative to resolve my debt when a family emergency occurred, leaving me unable to respond to any of the calls or messages that were left for me. However, previous to the emergency, I was taking positive steps in negotiating a settlement agreement to pay off my outstanding debt. But during the time I became temporarily unavailable due to a family emergency, Wells Fargo unilaterally froze my account and withdrew {$2000.00} from my personal checking account ( XXXX XXXX2017 ), where I receive my direct deposits from work, without any notice. Moreover, the agent that I was put in touch with to discuss what had happened was extremely and unbelievably rude and laughed stating that there is nothing I can do and that the debt has been paid in full while threatening to disconnect the call.

Dealing with your lender or servicer

Student loan: Private student loan

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: After I submitted complaint # 1 about Wells Fargo 's handling of our student loan, here 's what I have as of XX/XX/XXXX : - Despite the fact I was a customer in good standing from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, in XX/XX/XXXX our account went into defaults because suddenly two of three accounts were n't called out by number on my payment. Never a problem before XX/XX/XXXX, a problem now yet no notification that something had changed or shifted - Despite the fact I 've been paying {$500.00} every two weeks against the loan set since XX/XX/XXXX, since XX/XX/XXXX I 've had to pay @ {$700.00} extra to make up for the " default '' account and apparently still " owe '' {$320.00} - over an additional {$1000.00} out of pocket and a hit on my credit report, thank you Wells Fargo for the awesome refund of {$37.00} on so-called late fees - In their written response, Wells Fargo clearly states : " we are unable to send cosigners monthly billing statements. '' If cosigners are held to the same level of responsibility as primary account holders, we should legally have the same rights.

Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Complaint: Enough people, like me, I do hope report the injustices of banks like Wells Fargo taking advantage of the hard working earnings of tax payers like myself. Wells fargo, advertises their consumer products and markets them towards people, just like me, hard working, and family oriented. And the facts are in XX/XX/XXXXI was charged {$420.00} in overdraft fees, and XX/XX/XXXX, I was charged so far, {$240.00}. Wells Fargo knows what they are doing is immoral, because when you call, they immediately with very little effort, refund portions of overdraft fees with no issues. BUT, the problem is, they refund portions, to quiet you from continuing your complaints. They do not refund all of it, although they are clearly in the wrong. 1. Forcing customers to have overdraft protection, that they are unable to opt out of having is wrong. And I mean fully opting out of overdraft protection, meaning, all transactions are rejected, rather than it ever being possible to have a negative balance. THIS IS TRUE OPTING OUT OF OVERDRAFT PROTECTION AND IT USED TO BE GRANTED, now it no longer exists. 2. Charges are posted not in the order I make them, but in the order from highest to lowest by the banks choice. It is done to cause overdraft fees. 3. They now have a messaging system, that is supposed to inform you when you have insufficient funds. Only problem is, if the account has a positive balance ( and it should n't because you 've made charges ), it wo n't send you the messages. So this mechanism is not in tune with what your ACTUAL account balance is, thereby making it useless, and actually more confusing. In closing, Hard working people, should be encouraged to succeed, not be further suppressed by multi billion dollar banks using predatory practices towards their financially ordinary consumers. This needs to come to an end and I want my rightfully owed {$660.00} back in my account.

Struggling to pay mortgage

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: we fell behind on payments about 18 months ago. We had modified the loan but continued to struggle due to health issues, loss of employment, and a missing teenage child. We kept in contact with Wells Fargo Mortgage the entire time. After 3-4 missed payments, we called to make a payment and were told to pay full amount. we were unable. We tried to modify again and were denied. Several months later we were sent a letter about being in foreclosure and to call for help. we called and were unable to get help. they also never served us with the foreclosure documents. they left them under a door mat, which we did n't see for months later. We then did some research and decided to apply for a program called Floridas Hardest Hit. We were approved for Florida 's Hardest Hit program and Wells Fargo was notified, during the application process for this program i called wells fargo and notified them of the program and requested an exact statement of everything owed. We received a statement with a balance owing just over 17k, this is what we submitted to Fl Hardest Hit. I received a call on XXXX/17 that they were sent XXXX but i owed an additional $ XXXX.which i had 10 days to pay. i asked where that amount came from since my statement i requested stated XXXX and even had a line item stating attorney fees. I asked for an itemized statement of this {$6900.00} and was told they just had as a balance owed and couldnt help me further. meanwhile. every 30-60 days i am spending {$50.00} to go to court and ask for extension after extension, during this time i kept asking for the detailed balance and what was for. i was told that it was in foreclosure and could n't receive statements. Meanwhile, I turn in all closing documents to Fl Hardest Hit. I receive a letter from wells fargo they receieved approval and discontinue any further payments as they would be getting payments from them. I finally think the nightmare is over and then I get a call 2 weeks later that the payments was returned and they wanted the {$6900.00} first. I finally get a hold of a XXXX XXXX in the customer care team and im told she will investigate. I have 3 other conversations with her that all end in the same way. I finally receive a letter that basically states the {$6900.00} is owed for fees.and escrow. even my past statements included all fees and escrow payments and still there was no balance including the extra {$6900.00}. This is my final resort.I have even contacted wells fargos attourneys office via email and phone several times, asking for this as well as to put the XXXX at the end of the loan, at the end of the program or make a payment arrangment with us. nothing has been done in months. I can not lose my home. I have a sick child on XXXX XXXX, Wells fargo refuses to disclose all fee 's and charges to me. i have to go once again to court and ask for an extension, pay {$50.00}, and get nowhere with the judge or wells fargo. i now have to re-apply and re-do everything for Fl hardest hit since its been so long since original application. They ( wells fargo ) are breaking many FL statues and regulations by not disclosing the requested documents to us.

Trouble during payment process

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: I spoke to a very nice supervisor in iowa branch, and her name is very nice lady, wells fargo is charging me a {$320.00} for my escrow account, my loans was sold to them, and I signed agreement, that I 'm not responsible for such dues, then yesterday XXXX XXXX, 2017 I received a letter from them saying I have to pay them XX/XX/XXXX, and those are not legal, when my loans was transferred to them, I 'm not responsible for what ever escrow account bills I will received. This company is taking advantaged of the loans, that they bought it, I 'm asking if this agency will do an investigation, because this amount of money is too much for me. this mortgaged company has practices, of taking advantages, of let say the loans was bought from them, the poor home owner, who do n't know anything, one day they Wells Fargo will just received a letter saying I owed them.

Struggling to repay your loan

Student loan: Private student loan

Problem lowering your monthly payments
Complaint: I applied for private student loans through Wells Fargo. Throughout the years I have accumulated over 100,000 in student loan debt. My parents were co-signers on all of these loans. My parents have a combined income of XXXX. My dad 's credit score is XXXX and my mom 's is XXXX. Recently, I applied to refinance my student loans because my current monthly repayment plan is {$1200.00}. Wells Fargo denied my application to refinance, even with my parents as co-signers. My parents ' income and credit score has not decreased since my initial application to obtain all of my student loans. Why did Wells Fargo deny my application to refinance in order to obtain a reduced monthly payment plan when my parents ' credit score has not decreased from XXXX and XXXX? My parents and I are XXXX and I believe that Wells Fargo is trying to take advantage of that. This company is notorious for scamming their consumers and I really want to fight the denial to refinance my student loans.
