Complaint: My mother XXXX XXXX was a XXXX and has been a victim of identity theft, bank fraud. I was also a victim of identity theft. A Wachovia bank employee had access to my mother 's personal information and safe deposit box. My mother had Treasury Bills ( unrecovered ) and my birth certificate ( unrecovered ) in her safe deposit box.She fraudulently added herself to my mother 's accounts. She had siphoned off money from one account into an account going to her home. Over XXXX was stolen. In addition she opened a joint checking and savings account with my information obtained from my mother 's account without my knowledge or consent. Wachovia Bank terminated her from her position after an investigation and returned most of the money. I later found charges and a savings account fro a printout. I wrote the bank 's President in XXXX, North Carolina. My hopes of getting an apology and assistance with a prosecution were dashed in a letter dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX, '' We have investigated your concerns and found no evidence to show that fraud was committed on XXXX XXXX 's accounts ''. In XXXX XXXX, Detective XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX Crime Unit started an investigation after I called. Finally in XXXX XXXX the detective called she arrested the employee. Municipal District Attorney XXXX XXXX ensured me a new trial and a conviction but did not follow through. I hired an attorney and contacted Wells Fargo now the bank of record. I recieved a small settlement. The employee was not prosecuted and the bank did nothing to assist or call for an arrest and the investigation. All the losses totaled {$100000.00}.
