Complaint: I was contacted by portfolio recovery company and they are trying to collect a debt. I had written them back to provide validation of this said debt. They then responded again with the same prefilled forms that they sent me the first time. They are asking me to validate by give them all sorts of information. No when a consumer writes in and asks for validation of a said debt, the company who is trying to collect is suppose to provide this information. This company is not providing anything. It is not my job to validated a debt that they are trying to collect on. Under law it is their job to validate, not verify, the said debt. The are reporting on all 3 of my credit bureau and have never validated the debt.

Complaint: On or about XX/XX/2019 I received a court summons for suit. In the suit it out lines third party debt collector submitted a claim with the XXXX County Civil Courts on or about XX/XX/2019. On the XXXX of XXXX was the first contact and knowledge of any debt Portfolio Recovery was trying to collect. I answered the summons with a request for discovery on XX/XX/2019. The next response I received from this company was XX/XX/2019 two months later. I entered into no legally binding contract with this company and the documents yhey finally sent me are unauthenticated documents that look as if the are doctored and forged. I never enteted into a contract with this company nor have they followed the laws outlined in the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act. I feel as if this company is trying to harass, bully, and extort money from me for a non binding debt that Portfolio Recovery never notified me about in writing.

I don't owe this company a dime and am sick and tired of the constant harrassment. They should be penalized up to liquidating due to such harrassment. I understand that this company has been fined in the past but it doesn't seem to bother them. I request that the FTC step up for the American consumer and put a stop to this company 's harassment and infringement on our time and lives.

Complaint: Portfolio Recovery Associates wish to sue me in court for unpaid debt for which I do intend to pay. The court due date is XX/XX/XXXX. However I can't come to court due to the fact that I can't risk leaving my elderly mother alone in the house. She's suffering from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, so it wouldn't be wise to leave her alone. My other complaint is that Portfolio Recovery Associates is charging me twice as much as what I actually owed to the original creditor. I actually owe {$300.00} but they're charging me {$690.00}. I only make {$600.00} a month from my pension so it's going to be a tight squeeze on my budget. I was wondering if it was legal for them to charge twice as much?
