Banking errors
Complaint: I have been trying to get this matter resolved with PNC since XX/XX/XXXX. {$8200.00} of my funds from my accounts was stolen and the Branch manager refused to help. Some of the employees changed transactions to cover up the theft because my statements are now inconsistent and I sent a package with evidence of the fraudulent transactions created, however no one got back to me. A XXXX XXXX signed for the package on XX/XX/XXXX. The resolution was closing my accounts and refusing to speak to me. I want someone who will actually investigate PNC 's ethical practices. Because I feel they are committing fraud and theft of funds. I want my money ... and justice!

Complaint: The PNC website advertises a HELOC with a fixed rate lock feature. The advertisement contains a payment amount example and a rate amount with a fixed rate lock of {$50000.00}. When I inquired about this option, however, the Loan officer told me that the best rate was only available on fixed rate locks of {$75000.00} or more. This means the payment amount does not match the rate advertised. This is deceptive as they are advertising terms that are not actually available.

Complaint: Received Mailer from PNC on XX/XX/XXXX offering {$500.00} bonus for opening a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Link on the mailer was XXXX and took you to this page - https : //www.pnc.com/XXXX XXXX & XXXX % XXXX % XXXX % XXXX % XXXX % XXXX % XXXX & XXXX The Full terms are present there. Account was opened on XXXX XXXX Contacted PNC multiple times to ask about the bonus and got different answers. First time - No Bonus 2nd Time - {$300.00} Bonus 3rd Time - I asked why is it {$300.00} when I signed up for {$500.00}. Rep then has the audacity to claim " PNC HAS NEVER OFFERED A {$500.00} BONUS IN OUR HISTORY '' and refuses to proceed further. I am at my wits end. I have attached a screenshot of the offer I signed up for below

Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Complaint: I opened a PNC Virtual Wallet with Performance Select account and funded the account on XX/XX/2019. PNC was running a promotional offer at the time where depositing {$5000.00} and peforming 10 debit card transaction would result in a {$300.00} bonus. The bonus was meant to be payed out 60-90 days after all conditions were met. On XX/XX/2019 after meeting all requirements I contacted PNC through secure message and asked them about when the bonus would post to my account. On the same day PNC responded saying funds would post in 60 days and to give them some more time. On XX/XX/2019 I contacted them asking for the bonus. Again, I was told to wait a little more time for the bonus to post to my account. On XX/XX/2019 I contacted them asking about the bonus. Now I was told the {$5000.00} deposit I had made does not qualify as it was not a direct deposit of the type they were expecting. At this point in time my money had been tied up with PNC for an extended period of time and PNC had committed fraud - stringing me along for months when they should have made their terms clear back on XX/XX/XXXX. They had access to my funds for half a year. I contacted PNC letting them know this was unacceptable and they brought in their retail escalation department. I had several conversations with a representative ( 'XXXX ' ). After reviewing my case the representative stated that PNC was going to pay the bonus despite not meeting their direct deposit requirement. Some paperwork had to be completed and she would get back to me in a couple of days. XXXX never contacted me again. I left several voicemails asking her to call me back and never received a callback. Finally months later I contact the retail escalation department and a different representative said he would look into the issue. His response after investigation was PNC was not going to pay out the bonus they had promised. PNC seems to have conveniently forgotten the conversation I had with XXXX. Additionally all my secure message correspondence showing PNC fraudulent behavior stringing me along for months has been deleted from my secure message account. Luckily I had the foresight to save the correspondence. I have attached it below.

Getting a line of credit

Payday loan, title loan, or personal loan: Personal line of credit

Complaint: Applied at PNC Branch for Personal Line of Credit ( Application # XXXX ) XX/XX/2019. Received letter from PNC bank XX/XX/19 notifying me of credit score of XXXX. Underwriters requested my salary and provided it to branch to send. Several weeks followed without hearing anything so I contacted the PNC branch. They were very professional and each time they attempted to learn status of loan they were given the run around by underwriters. PNC claims it takes 10-15 minutes to obtain a personal loan is misleading. I applied 60 days ago and have yet to get confirmation.of loan. I personally feel this was intentional and after financing auto loan along with credit cards do not plan to bank or recommend PNC Bank.

Fee problem
Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 2 transactions were pending on my checking account at PNC Bank. I made a deposit to the account but it was only enough to cover one of the transactions. PNC paid the largest transaction first which caused me to be charged 2 Overdraft Item Fees instead of one. This isnt fair. There was enough to cover the smallest transaction but PNC chose to pay the largest transaction first which caused me to be charged 2 Overdraft Item fees. I called and asked for an explanation on XX/XX/2019 and was told that I had to make a deposit to cover both transactions. I asked to speak with a supervisor but none were available, so they scheduled a callback within 24-48 hours. I specifically asked to be contacted after XXXX XXXX because I work from XXXX-XXXX and they had someone call me from a department thats only open from XXXX-XXXX. I called back on XXXX XXXX and was told that the only department that can assist me is open between XXXX-XXXX. I think it is incredibly unfair and deceptive that a bank can choose to post my transactions in a way that causes me to be charged additional fees and then make it inconvenient to speak with anyone who could provide a resolution.

Money was not available when promised

Money transfer, virtual currency, or money service: Domestic (US) money transfer

Complaint: PNC customers may be somewhat shocked at how difficult, time-consuming, and expensive it is to schedule a wire transfer. I have been on hold for two hours trying to schedule this wire transfer for a home closing that is now in 2.5 hours. I was initially on hold for 50 minutes and the call dropped after the hold music timed out, and now I have been on hold for about an hour after speaking with an initial representative ( useless step ), the escalation department ( who was also useless ), and finally onto the wire department. My home closing is now in jeopardy because it took me hours to schedule the wire. I eventually got through and was taken care of professionally, but it is clear that PNC is understaffed and needs to invest resources into this function, or is avoiding doing so to keep funds in PNC. Further, the wire fee was {$45.00}. Quick online research indicates that {$10.00} is the standard wire fee that most every bank charges. This is price gouging. I want the CFPB to look into the business infrastructure and whether PNC just needs to invest more in their customer-facing business lines or if they are purposely making wires difficult, and secondly investigate the price gouging. They might be the highest fee for wire transfers of any Top 20 financial institution, and these fees are certainly not advertised or else I would have switched to a different bank in advance of my home closing. I was naive to expect my own bank would be a smooth process.
