Several times I have provided to their local bank offices (in person) copies of divorce settlement and supporting documentaton to no avail.PenFed continues to seek collections from me referencing that my name cannot be removed from an account (with loan privileges) until XXXX XXXX (Primary account holder) makes the request.I have no recollection of signing a co-signer agreement at any time nor can PenFed cannot produce anything.I have no communications to date; nor knowledge of Mr. XXXX whereabouts. Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Complaint: PenFed used to be a great company but they have become very shady lately. I applied for the XXXX XXXX and was approved. The card advertises that it will pay for $XXXX of incidentals for domestic airline purchases. I made two purchases with XXXX that should have qualified for this credit. The credit never posted. I called in today, XX/XX/19 and it was clear that the customer service rep was completely clueless about the benefit and that PenFed had no intention of applying this credit - seems like false advertising to me. She sent me to the rewards department who couldn't help me and tried to send me back to customer service. It is clear that this advertised benefit is not real and PenFed is deceiving customers.

Struggling to pay your loan

Payday loan, title loan, or personal loan: Personal line of credit

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX XXXX, NY XXXX To whom it may concern : My PenFed credit union has financially destroyed me by : 1. adding 3 more month to my maturity loan date and demanding me to sign it, because the managers were planning to go on vacation. 2. by asking me to sign a personal guarantee letter as a condition of refinancing my XXXX XXXX to get advantage over me by covering losses with XXXX medallions with my personal savings. 3. by asking me to sign a confession of judgement letter which let PenFed take my two XXXX from me without going to court. 4. By refusing to make a new agreement with refinancing my loan which put me in trouble with my XXXX agent and allow her to put my XXXX into XXXX storage without Lease income and no payment on my XXXX loan. 5. by refusing to share the losses evenly on my XXXX XXXX because of falling XXXX prices related to mistakes done by XXXX XXXX Mayor XXXX XXXX , XXXX Commissioner, and credit unions. My XXXX XXXX loan was expected to mature on XX/XX/2019, so I came to my PenFed credit union two month before XX/XX/XXXX asking them to refinance my loan while bringing with me a hardship letter and letting them know that the XXXX industry in XXXX XXXX in terrible condition and my XXXX XXXX six times significantly reduced my lease income. The situation with XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX was so bad, that I can not go to any other credit unions asking for loan, because no any bank or credit union wants to deal with new loan on XXXX XXXX. Instead of helping me to refinance my XXXX XXXX loan, PenFed told me that I must sign the 3-month temporary agreement with them after my maturity date on XX/XX/2019. When I asked the reason for that PenFed credit union did not give me any reasonable explanation. At the same time, PenFed credit union aggressively demanded that I must sign their a ) temporary agreement which is 3-month period b ) sign a personal guarantee letter c ) sign a confession judgement letter. All of this is as a condition to refinance my XXXX XXXX loan. When I spoke to the PenFed manager, Mr. XXXX, and asked him to refinance me sooner than three month he laughed at him that the lease with my XXXX XXXX would expire on XX/XX/2019 and in order to pay my loan I need to refinance my XXXX XXXX before that day. I explained to PenFed manager that my XXXX XXXX would not wait for refinancing of my loan and it is extremely difficult to find a new XXXX XXXX who would lease my XXXX XXXX. Right now, in XXXX XXXX all XXXX XXXX refuse to lease new XXXX XXXX and many agents put XXXX XXXX into XXXX storage, which means no lease income to XXXX owners. When Mr. XXXX left on vacation, I spoke to another manager, Mr. XXXX, whose phone is ( XXXX ) XXXX xXXXX, who told me that he knew the situation with the XXXX industry well. I explained to him that my agreement with my XXXX XXXX would expire on XX/XX/2019 and I needed to refinance my XXXX XXXX because my XXXX XXXX could put my XXXX XXXX into the XXXX storage without refinancing my loan. I also asked him to reduce my loan interest, {$2200.00} because my XXXX XXXX pays me {$1900.00} and {$300.00} I pay out of my pocket. The manager asked me to sign the personal guarantee letter, but I refused to do it, telling him that it is very unfair to cover loses of XXXX XXXX by my personal savings. He threatened me by saying that he would take my medallions from me if I refuse to sign a personal guarantee letter. I explained to Mr. XXXX that in XX/XX/XXXX last month one medallion was sold for {$110000.00}, which makes {$220000.00} for my two XXXX and my loan is {$380000.00} is larger than what I owe to PenFed. I also told him that price of XXXX could get even low than that and it is very unfair to cover my XXXX loses by my personal savings, despite the fact that it is not my fault that Mayor XXXX XXXX and XXXX Commissioner XXXX XXXX made mistakes by refusing to regulate XXXX and XXXX companies. I told him I would not sign a personal guarantee letter and he could take my two XXXX XXXX. He told me he would call me next day. Next day Mr. XXXX called me again from a different phone ( XXXX ) XXXX and started demanding that I also must sign a confession of judgement letter, which I also refused to sign, telling him that NY State stopped using it. But he told me that it would be still OK in XXXX XXXX. Than he asked me if {$1800.00} would be good for me with my loan interest. I explained to him that it is not good because my XXXX agent pays me {$1900.00} and she could reduce my lease income, because the XXXX industry in crisis now. Besides, my XXXX XXXX already reduced my lease income six times during three years. Each of her redaction is between {$300.00} and {$600.00}. He told me that the bank does not work this way. I also explained to him that that my lease with my XXXX XXXX would expire on XX/XX/2019and I needed to refinance my loan before that day. The next day, when I called him, I was told that he went on vacation without telling me that he would be absent for some time. So, I believe that both managers, Mr. XXXX and Mr. XXXX of PenFed credit wanted me to fail with my XXXX XXXX loans by creating the situation in which my XXXX XXXX would get angry at me for not refinancing my XXXX XXXX loan and put my XXXX into the XXXX storage. In this situation, I will not be able to pay my loan interest and will lose my XXXX as well as personal savings. I bought my XXXX XXXX for {$690000.00} with a loan from credit union and now I owe PenFed credit union {$380000.00}. Each year I paid my loan interest to credit union as well as other XXXX owners paid to it. Recently I was shocked to learn that former CEO, XXXX XXXX, of Progressive credit Union which merged with PenFed received {$30.00} XXXX in salary, despite the fact that credit union is non-profit business. I came to conclusion that both managers of PenFed credit union tried to catch me in signing temporary agreement, in signing a personal guarantee letter, in signing a confession of judgement letter. Both of them did not care that my agreement with my XXXX XXXX will expire on XX/XX/2019 and I would lease my lease income and would not be able to make a loan payment to PenFed Credit union. So, my XXXX will be taken from me because of that. But a real reason is that both Mr. XXXX and Mr. XXXX did not care of me despite the fact that the XXXX industry in crisis and XXXX XXXX owners will lose their XXXX XXXX and the loses will exceed {$1.00} XXXX. That was said by XXXX XXXX, the NCUA Board member. He also said : We want to provide individually tailored solutions to those borrowers who want to work with us. It seems to contradict to my experience with PenFed credit union. I also believe that if credit unions made mistake with XXXX loan, they need to share losses with medallion owners, and not take advantage over me by forcing me to sign a personal guarantee letter, which means to cover all loses of XXXX XXXX by a XXXX owner. I believe that PenFed credit union should be responsible for any losses evenly with me as well as XXXX XXXX XXXX Mayor XXXX XXXX and XXXX Commissioner XXXX XXXX for not regulating XXXX and XXXX. But now, both PenFed managers put me in financial trouble with my XXXX XXXX for refusing refinance my loan before XX/XX/2019 Thanks. XXXX XXXX A XXXX owner. Email : XXXX XXXX : ( XXXX ) XXXX

Other transaction problem

Money transfer, virtual currency, or money service: International money transfer

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, a wired funds, in the amount of {$860.00}, was initiated through Pentagon Federal Credit Union to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for college tuition payment of my daughter 's housing while studying abroad. Initially, an incorrect swift code was entered but only the last digit. Sent : Swift Bank Code : XXXX Correct Code : XXXX Although one digit was missing, it appears that this did not affect the transaction. There have been numerous attempts to ascertain the whereabouts of these funds but a successful resolution has not occurred. The college, XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ), states that they are unable to verify the wired transfer. Pentagon Federal Credit Union ( PENFED ) has not provided adequate assistance, and the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is non-responsive. I have asked PENDFED to retract my wire but believe that has not yet occurred for some reason. This appears to be a case of international wired transfer banking fraud as no one is able to determine the whereabouts of the funds. I have exhausted numerous emails between the college and PENFED. Today, I spoke with a supervisory operations personnel from, who was unprofessional and made statements that I should just contact the XXXX bank and that if he initiated a wire retract that I may not get my money back. And, If I spoke to any one above him that I would get the same answer. Truly, unprofessional supervisory customer service from a professional banker and I am at a loss for what to do next. All of this has cost a significant amount of time and wasted money. as I have had to re-schedule my daughter 's flight to XXXX. Until this is resolved, she us unable to attend school in the U.S. or abroad. XXXX will not let her obtain housing without payment, PENFED is not providing helpful assistance, and the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is not responsive. My daughter is an exceptional student that recently made the Dean 's List and entering her third year of college. This has placed undue stress on our family and I am needing your unbiased assistance as I do not know what else to do. I am also in the process of drafting a formal complaint to PENFED Foundation 's Board of Directors. As a Veteran, I do not expect exceptional treatment/service but hearing the words you should just contact the XXXX bank yourself, after waiting almost two weeks for that same institutions 's help, saddens me. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Credit card debt

Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: Back in XXXX of XXXX I discovered that my perfect credit had been ruined because there were accounts on my report that were charged-off or in collections. There was three specifically. The XXXX XXXX company, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I found out because I was attempting to purchase a home and the mortgage lender informed me this was preventing me from being able to qualify. I've had a 700+ score for as long as I can remember. I have never once paid a bill late or have been in collections. Furthermore, none of the three companies that were reporting on my credit report are mine nor have I ever associated with any of them. Because of this I began an investigation and took steps to begin having these accounts removed from my credit report. I did so by calling all the companies listed on the report which were erroneous as well as filing a police report. I did so back in XXXX of XXXX. At first they kept telling me they were going to take care of it but that never seemed to happen. I would call all three of the creditors over the months and I kept getting the same response. After nearly a year of no results, I finally decided to hire a professional to assist me. I contacted a local company who has been helping consumers for many years in XXXX. When I contacted this consumer advocacy company, they informed me that I should supplement the police report with a notarized ID theft affidavit. I went ahead and did so in XXXX of XXXX. They assisted me in filling it out and submitting it to all three major credit bureaus as well as every creditor and collector listed on the report. At first I would receive what I call bogus noticed from the credit bureaus asking me for more identification so I went ahead and provided them with whatever they were asking for. After several months I finally began making some sort of headway on my credit. XXXX XXXX deleted all the fraudulent accounts on my credit report. Once XXXX XXXX deleted the accounts from my report I believed things would go well from that point on. Unfortunately they didn't. XXXX did delete 2 of the three fraudulent accounts from my credit report, but XXXX didn't remove a single one. It frustrated me even more because one of the collectors, The XXXX XXXX XXXX, actually sent me a letter stating they would be deleting themselves off my report. How can the actual collector who sent me a notice in writing saying they are being deleted from my credit report still be verified by XXXX? That is impossible unless XXXX is not doing their job. Also, If XXXX and XXXX XXXX both deleted the 4 wheel parts account because it was invalid and fraud, how can XXXX claim it was legitimate? They can't unless they are not doing a real investigation. This is not the end of it either. Over the last week I have been receiving calls from a collector asking me for my social security number and refusing to speak with me unless I provided them with my full number. I went back to the consumer advocates who were helping me and they got a hold of this company as well. XXXX was their name. Without going into too much detail to save us all time, it will suffice to say that the manager XXXX informed us he just received the account for collections from Pentagon Federal Credit Union 1 month ago. Because my notarized affidavit as well as police report was provided to all creditors, collectors, and credit bureaus since XXXX, why would the creditor send me to collections without responding to my fraud claim first? I am now really upset because I feel like I am being discriminated against. The collection agency was notified I have filled out a notarized ID theft affidavit as well as police report and submitted it to Pentagon Credit Union months ago. I demanded they cease collections and cancel the account back to their client or they would be included in this complaint as well. Please help me in stopping XXXX as well as Pentagon Federal Credit Union in stopping from reporting these fraudulent accounts on my credit report. If this doesn't work, my only other option is a lawsuit as I have exhausted all other means of getting these companies to correct their records.

Fees or interest

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Charged too much interest
Complaint: I have spoken to PenFed several times about reducing the interest on my Promise Visa credit card and they refuse - even though I have a credit score of approximately 750. I have even offered to convert the card to their Gold Visa product, which has an inherently lower rate, and they still refuse. They say I have to apply for a totally new account, which would require me to add a new account to my credit, tarnishing my report, while also losing the history on my Promise Visa, further harming my report. They can, and should, simply lower the rate on my existing product. The rate on the card was quite low when I got it and has been adjusted upward due to the prime rate - which I understand is out of their control. That said, they should be reviewing accounts to determine whether the margin they add to the prime rate can be reduced for customer who have a perfect payment history with them and have never exceeded their limit. I would like to see my interest reduced to the 13 - 14 % range and feel that this is realistic based on the very positive relationship I have had with PenFed.

Problem when making payments

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

You never received your bill or did not know a payment was due
Complaint: PenFed has violated the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Credit Protection Act. I emailed PenFed on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and asked for my account to be unblocked. I sent in my California Driver 's license, my birth certificate, my XXXX XXXX XXXX phone bill yet PenFed continues to block my account and not provide me with my statement. PenFed demanded that I provide a copy of my social security card and I told PenFed my social security card is for social security purposes and not identification purposes, in addition, I do not trust PenFed with a copy of my social security card and told them criminals can use it steal my identity, open bank accounts and credit cards or apply for a loan or carry out other illegal activities without my knowledge. I told them the documentation provided should have been enough to identify me. PenFed continues to block my account and not provide me with my statements. After my complaint about unfair and deceptive practices was submitted to everyone, I knew I would be retaliated against. I also signed up for automatic payments so that the minimum payment would be deducted from my XXXX account however PenFed cancelled the automatic payments without my authorization and without notifying me. I then emailed PenFed on the XX/XX/XXXX and told " Due to PenFeds unfair and deceptive practices, close my checking and credit cards ending XXXX and XXXX. You also purposefully kept my statements from me each month then stated I was late to the bureaus. I don't want to do business with a discriminatory, unjust company- close all my accounts with PenFed. ''
