Complaint: I have a personal loan through One Main Financial in XXXX, PA. When the loan was taken out, a certain amount was determined to pay back each month. This amount worked for quite a while. At the time the loan was taken out, we were told by the person finalizing the paperwork for the loan that should anything change that we are unable to afford the payment, let them know and they will work with us and help get it where we can afford to pay it back. The loan is with myself and a friend of mine. His car is collateral. At the time the loan was taken out there was a special insurance plan that was taken out that you could get 1/2 off hotels, free towing, legal help and a whole lot of other stuff. We took it out. We were going on vacation 6 weeks after the loan was taken out and this sounded like it would help with hotels and financially. Before we left, the cards had not been received by us. We called the lady that finalized the loan and she said that to go ahead and call about getting the discount rates from the XXXX number provided on the application and if they couldn't give us the rate, make sure we have a copy of the rate showing that we indeed did pay for it and then submit it and they will reimburse what is due. I called the number to get the discounted rates and the gentleman that answered said that he could see by looking up our names that we were indeed covered, however, without a card, they could not honor the rate reduction. Upon returning home, I called the company and explained the situation. They said that they will not refund any money as we did not have the card in time and it is our loss. Furthermore, he explained to me that why would this lady assume that she can tell what our company will do. This company is not associated with their company and they have no right telling you that it will be refunded. They can refund the 1/2 if they want to but our company will not refund it. I called the person at One Main and explained what the company that supplies the services had said to me. She informed me that it wasn't her problem as she could not be held responsible for the company taking that long to issue the card. There was nothing she could do. I then called the company back and thank XXXX that I called when I did. In order to get a full refund of this insurance thing it had to be done within 2 days. Needless to say, it was cancelled and we did receive the refund in its entirety. Once again, a total lie from this company. XXXX However, within the last 6 months, the income in my household has changed significantly. I live with my son and his girlfriend, whom a wedding was set up for but has since fell apart, has moved out of the house. Therefore we have lost an entire income from the household and I have subsequently had to pick up more bills than I was paying when the loan was taken out. I was told by the person that finalized the paperwork and she said that the manager would contact me regarding helping us with the payments so that the car would not be repo 'd. 3 months later I had not heard a word except nasty, rude, ignorant calls telling me that the account is in arrears and needs paid immediately. I explained the situation and the lady informed me it is " Not my problem, it is your problem ''. I told her that she was downright rude and very inconsiderate. Obviously she had never experienced a hardship in her life, must be nice. I called the corporate office and spoke with a very nice lady who talked to me about the problem and then she transferred me to the XXXX Office. They said that they would see what they could do. The lady from corporate called me back after the conversation with the local office and asked what I thought of the situation that they would try to help with. I informed her that it would be great if they truly followed through with it. Furthermore, she informed me that she would take care of the situation with the rude and ignorant staff and manager. As of this date, they are even more ignorant and ruder than before. Many phone calls have been made back and forth between the local branch. It has been explained many times that our income has not changed but the income of where I reside has drastically changed. They submitted some paperwork to have the payments lowered and it was okayed for I believe it was 3-6 months at a lower payment. Since then, they have tried again and it was denied. Not only has my financial responsibilities changed but also my health. I have had 6 XXXX since XXXX, 2017 and I can prove these XXXX with documentation if needed. I still have to have 3 more XXXX as of right now. Therefore my medical expenses have increased as well as my living expenses. Every time they submit for the lower payments, they say that it was declined due to no change in INCOME. This is true. We have told them this is not the problem. It is the living expenses for me since one entire income is no longer in the household to pay some of the living expenses. I have never dealt with a company as rude as One Main is. In fact, I looked up One Main again yesterday to get the corporate headquarters number again to see if they could help my friend and I out. When I looked it up, I noticed reviews. I started reading them. Much to my surprise, this company must have the worst reviews I have ever seen. In fact, one of them mentioned to file a complaint with this group, as I am currently doing. I have had people in the area tell me that they would not recommend One Main because they shaft the heck out of their clients. I went in to check it out, and they were the nicest people that I had ever met. Bent over backwards to help us get the loan. Boy was I deceived. A partial payment was made a couple days ago and they said that it was not enough. Excuse me a partial payment is better than none. I mean if they are going to refuse a payment, I have heard that the debt can be paid in full due to declining a payment. I am so stressed, my friend is stressed as he can not afford to lose his car. If we would have known there would be a loss of an entire income in my household, this loan would never have been taken out. An for that lady that told me that it was not her problem it was mine, and why did we take the loan out if we knew we could not afford the payments. That is just plain ignorant. Obviously it was a circumstance that happened that was not known at the time the loan was taken out. I am so disappointed in this company. I have told everyone I know if they need a loan absolutely do not go to One Main. They are very rude to their clients. I am surprised the place is still in business with the attitudes of their employees. At this point, I have no idea what I can do or where to turn. I have asked multiple times from the XXXX numbers as well as the branch office for help. I get absolutely nowhere. It seems as if they do not even try to help, which is deceiving as we were told that they would help us if any problem that they payments could not be afforded in order to not lose the car. I am sorry that I have ranted and raved to whomever gets this letter, but I feel we have been unjustly treated and lied to on multiple occasions with this specific branch. I also see that MANY other complaints have been filed under reviews of this company with the same complaints. How can a company be operating with misinformation like that? Complaint: I first started our complaint on, on XX/XX/2018 but I was informed by the CFPB, that I have to submit a, " New Compliant '' for each and every credit bureau company as well as with the companies being that this is a, " JOINT ACCOUNT '' as we have our own credit reports showning different information. " Most of all the errors occured under Co-Applicant Name as I had had a pior, " Individual account which shoud have been closed yet it wasn't when my husband and I applied for the, " New Joint Account! '' So, our complaint is one and the same only difference is you will notice on all the information I gathered for your investigation that again most all, " Illegal and very fraudulent account appear on Co-Applicant 's Credit Report and for these reasons we had no idea where exactly our monthly auto-pay was going as the amount on the Joint Account was not being deducted as it should have been. " But it is, " One and the same account! '' I am sorry that this is so very confusing but I am doing my best to explain it. ( One other very important fact is as I was researching all the illegally opened and closed account and even the Joint Account, " I noticed even more errors in how they processed the account as it was not done correctly at all! '' These companies should be able to find these errors I was able to! This " Complaint '' is for my husband who is the main signer on the, " Joint Account '' where we thought we were paying every month but this was not the case at all! If both companies take the time to investigate, they will see that the monthly payments were not being applied or deducted correctly. " This is something that is a major concern for my husband and I as our names and social security numbers were more than likely used for those illegal opened and closed loans! And, the fact being that we only took out two loans. One being an, " Indiviual Account. '' and one being a " Joint Account! '' So even though that on my husband credit reports you will only see the, " Joint Account '' all the errors and payments were being applied elsewhere as we were not seeing our balance decrease and that is why I started investigating and calling the companies! All errors seem to be reporting on Co-Applicant 's Credit Reports! ( This is so very confusing! ) We never applied for any of those other loans. We are unable to provide exact dates because I have been dealing with two seperate companies that are some how still tied to each other as one sold their company to the other but never, " Closed '' their loan contract so I am showing the, " Old & the New Joint Loan '' as if it were two loans. It is very confusing and not even these companies could figure out how to fix this mess! These companies have committed illegal activities. REPORTING BILLING ERRORS WITH ILLEGAL/FRAUDULENT ACTIVIIES BY CREDITORS : ONE MAIN FINANCIAL & ONE MAIN RE : Illegal/fraudulent Loan ( s ) Loan Accounts are grossly incorrect on both, Old and New Accounts. Disputed both One Main Financial & XXXX XXXX XXXX as numerous accounts have been opened and closed that were not approved by US the Consumers. Plus, Old Loan information that should have been CLOSED is still OPEN and billing my bank account! The same thing is happening with the newest account which is Joint Account One Main Financial and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Companies are and have been violating our rights under the, Federal Trade Commission Lending Laws It is illegal to be billing us for accounts in which they all have different accounts numbers, with different amounts due, and an account that should have been closed when we entered into a, Joint Loan Contract but they did not close it and continued to report this information to the Credit Bureaus! Other accounts have been, Opened and Closed without our consent or Loan Agreements with both One Main Financial and One Main. These illegal and fraudulent, Open and Closed Accounts show dates that were not applied by my husband or myself, yet these companies continue to report them as if they were legal! All three, major credit bureaus are showing many different accounts and the billing errors that are being reported do not match or make any sense! XXXX XXXX, XXXX and XXXX all have numerous accounts that are listed as, Paid in Full, yet we never signed loan contacts for any of these accounts! It is quite illegal and fraudulent to conduct such business as there are many, many incorrect billing errors. Plus, the questions as to where our monthly payments are being applied to? After reaching out to both companies I finally decided it would be in our best interest to move forward in disputing these illegal loans with, XXXX XXXX, XXXX and XXXX so they can investigate and confirm that these illegal loans are not valid and need to be removed/deleted from our credit reports. So, to date we have disputed these, Illegal Opened and Closed Accounts and on my XXXX XXXX Credit Report, they investigated and confirmed this illegal information and they removed/deleted the account showing and on my husbands XXXX Credit Report they have removed and deleted all of the illegal accounts with these companies as they too investigated and confirmed these loans as fraudulent and grossly being reported as such. We will continue disputing with All three major credit bureaus, XXXX XXXX, XXXX and XXXX Credit Bureaus so that all illegal/fraudulent activities can be removed/deleted from our Credit Reports! Plus I had no other choice but to do a STOP PAYMENT with my Banking Institute as I had our payments set-up as, Automatic Payments withdrawn from our bank account on a monthly basis but we have no ideas where are payments are being applied to as the accounts are illegally reporting to the Credit Bureaus! It is a complete mess that not even these companies could give me any clear answers as to why this was going on in the first place. Also, being placed on both my husbands and my credit reports are many Inquires for loans that we know we did not do. I believe that on just my credit reports I have up to six or more inquiries from both companies. My husband 's is just as bad as mine on the Inquire Section of our credit reports. These need to be removed as well! One other very important issue that I would like to bring to the attention of Credit Financial Protection Bureau is that these companies do not explain clearly the terms of the loan agreement till after a person signs the loan contract. When I brought this to the attention the Loan Officer I expressed to her that had I fully understood the terms of these loan agreements, I would have never signed the loan contract! I feel certain information is withheld till after the fact! In fact, I even made a comment that I felt so very bad for our Elders who most are only XXXX-Speaking and they have a hard time understanding the English Language and the Office Manager agreed with me and said that she too felt bad for, Our Elders! Plus, these loan officers seem to rush through the loan process as they make you feel that they have other people waiting so a person does not get that full one on one time that is truly needed in these types of situations. My experience was far from professional as both times I met with the, Office Manager and Loan Officer, they both took telephone calls while working with me and they also tried to help other people apply for their loans at the same time! I was very dissatisfied with how these companies have trained their employees as it lacks professional respect! OUR INFORMATION CONTINUED HERE ; In submitting our complaint, being that it is a, " Joint Account '' yet I am still paying to the Oldest Company on my credit report so it makes it appears as their as two diffferent loans and we do not know were our monthly payments are being applied to as this is so very confusing. When I spoke to the companies they also did not have any ideas as how to answer my questions on what was going on and so I felt it best to reach out to all our Credit Bureaus and the Compaines using the CFPB! What I did realize is that is it quite illegal to open and close other loans that we never ever signed any legal loan documents to! They are all different on all the three major credit reports and it is a hugh mess! Also these companies repeatedly did hard checks on our credit reports that are in the " Inquires '' to the point that there are more than normal on both mine and my husband 's credit reports. ( Please Note : I do believe now that the main reason that the illegal reporting errors were mostly on ( Co-Applicant 's Credit Report ), is because there was a pior, " Individaul Account '' that should have been closed when we applied for the, " Joint Account! '' There is, " ONE MAJOR ERROR '' that these companies are overlooking and, " We are totally shocked at how negligent these two companies conducted and processed their business accounts. They should be able to find this illegal error as it is plain and clear and most illegal! We do not want to interfer with their investigation so I am not sure what to do with this new found information, but the employees need to seriously be trained on the legal libilities of their actions concerning finanical factors when assigning some one a new loan, that never, ever should have occurred in the first place. Because of the many illegal/fraudulent reporting errors, Our, " Joint Loan Contract '' is a " Breach of Contract '' under the, " The Federal Trade Commission Consumer Laws and also under the United Stated Disabled Individuals Act, that clearly states it is illegal to take advantage of those who are XXXX under the United States Laws.

Complaint: I am XXXX years of age. I discovered that One Main Financial has charged me for unemployment insurance a few months ago. I have requested ( on XX/XX/XXXX ) that they refund these premiums since there would have been no coverage because of my retirement and age. In addition, my original contract with the lender required a reduction of interest as long as payments were made on time, which I have done for the last several years. However, there has been no reduction and, therefore, I was overcharged interest on this account for a number of years. I requested that this be done in my correspondence to them on XX/XX/XXXX of this year. As of this date, I have received no response to my requests for these refunds and I believe they have elected to ignore my request.

Complaint: On XX/XX/18 at XXXX XXXX, I called One Main Financial. I believe I spoke with Someone named XXXX. I told her I no longer authorized Aut draft payments from my checking account. We had to go over this several times. I told her I had some medical issues, and had missed some work and I needed to change to manual payments. She talked to her manager, then came back and told me they would remove my Aut draft from my checking account, but my payment was still due by theXX/XX/XXXX Today I checked my bank account, and they still auto drafted my account. I feel certain information is withheld till after the fact! In fact, I even made a comment that I felt so very bad for our Elders who most are only Spanish-Speaking and they have a hard time understanding the English Language and the Office Manager agreed with me and said that she too felt bad for, Our Elders! Plus, these loan officers seem to rush through the loan process as they make you feel that they have other people waiting so a person does not get that full one on one time that is truly needed in these types of situations. Complaint: We took out a loan with One Main Financial in XXXX Ga on XX/XX/2018. We went and paid off the loan yesterday. The loan amount was XXXX plus a XXXX processing fee. They financed XXXX dollars which we were not aware of what exactly went on with that as XXXX of it was a life insurance policy and the other was for XXXX for home and auto insurance. However a check was cut for this last amount and my husband and I had to sign the check and One Main kept it although our loan papers say it was given to us and was not ... The interest rate is 36 percent a year on the loan. But as I said we paid it off not even one month later. Our payoff was XXXX. This is XXXX dollars in interest for less than one month of a loan. In addition they claim they took off the XXXX insurance check as it is refundable to us when we pay off the loan. So in all One Main is saying we paid them over 1200 dollars in interest for a loan that is less than one month old. This seems like a scam and a rip off. Had we had the loan longer I could see the high interest charge but the 36 percent in the papers says it is a yearly interest rate so it makes no sense. Seems like we should have paid XXXX or something in that area, not XXXX in all for a loan less than one month old. I would like this investigated please.
