Complaint: Im a victim of identity theft. Someone stole my identity and applied and opened a personal loan account with One Main Financial on XXXX.The personal loan account is fraudulent, unauthorized and not mine. I have mailed and sent numerous letters of disputes to One Main Financial for the last 7 months in regards to the fraudulent account, and I havent not heard back or received any correspondence from One Main Financial for 7 months. I been receiving harassing and threatening phone calls of profane language, verbal abuse, threats of legal action, wage garnishment, arrest, jail and prison for over 7 months at home and work at XXXX XXXX and after XXXX XXXX from One Main Financial debt collection call center representatives, for an account thats fraudulent, not mine, and a debt, i dont owe. One Main Financial is in violation of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). My social security number listed on the fraudulent account is : XXXX, Date of Birth is : XX/XX/XXXX

Complaint: I have been contacting OneMain Financial, who appear on my credit file as OneMain numerous of times trying to rectify the situation regarding unauthorized inquires but I have been given the run around and told I would be contacted back on numerous of occasions but I have not. Initially I was not even sure what type of loan company this company is but upon contacting them I was told my social security number was used during an application to obtain a loan of some sort. On my XXXX report, there are inquires dates of XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. Neither of these did i authorize or give permission. they are a result of fraud.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 Onemain Financial took funds from my account for a car payment in the amount of {$200.00}, even though they'd received the payout on the loan. They've since given me the runaround saying the funds were returned, which they weren't, that they'd XXXX me a check on XX/XX/XXXX, which they hadn't, and then that they had to " hold '' my money for 15 days. This is the XXXX Indiana branch of Onemain Financial.As of this date XX/XX/2018 the management is STILL giving me the runaround! This withdrawal put my account in the negative and they still refuse to reimburse my money. They even tried to make this MY fault because I failed to tell them to no longer take funds from my account.I explained that I'm unable to be home to receive a fedex package due to travel for work, yet they insist that it's the only way for them to reimburse my funds.Taking money under false pretenses is A CRIME!

Complaint: I contacted my local office asking for a print out of the payments that I have made. The officer I could hear printed it and said it would be mailed within a few minutes he called back and gave me a XXXX number to call. When I called that number the person I talked to threatened me that I would never get that information and gave an amount that I owed him that he could not explain how he said I owed. Threatened me that he had my drivers license number and read it off to me. Told me good luck he would see me in court and hung the phone up. This happened on the afternoon of XX/XX/2018. I still do not have a resolution.

Complaint: *******PREDATORY LOAN ********* *******PREDATORY LOAN ********* *******STAY AWAY ********* I opened a loan with this company back in XXXX. For approx. {$5900.00}. I refinance in XXXX and received an additional {$1000.00}. This brings the total borrowed amount to approx. {$7000.00}. Ive been paying on this same loan for 5.5 + years every month for {$250.00} and was never late. That a total REPAYMENT amount I have made up to now is approx. {$14000.00}. I recently lost my job and the company is now harassing me saying that I still owe approx. {$3900.00}. The company has posted the late payment information on my credit report which has lowered my credit score. This has hurt me really bad. How is it possible to borrow {$7000.00} REPAY a total of {$14000.00} and still owe almost {$4000.00}??? This is unreal and probably illegal on the part of this company!!! Stay away form this company. I feel like if I have not been late and have repaid a total amount of around 200 % from the original amount borrowed I SHOULD NOT OWE money. My balance should XXXX!! Looking over my documents the APR is 36.00 %. doing the math on this at the very best I should only owe approx. {$1000.00} to have the total 60 months agreement payment fulfilled. PLEASE HELP ME!

Complaint: In XX/XX/2018, I submitted preliminary personal information to ONE MAIN FINANCIAL ( via their website ) for a pre-approval on a personal loan offer. When I did so, I was with the belief that the initial inquiry would only result in a " soft pull '' on my credit report. The lead ( page one ) of the ONE MAIN FINANCIAL website notes that the initial inquiry would not affect my credit score.
However, the inquiry did in fact result in a " hard pull '' on my XXXX credit report, a mark that will remain on my report for two years. I did not authorize such a pull.
I filed a complaint and spoke with a representative at ONE MAIN FINANCIAL. While the representative was professional and understanding, she was not able to get the " hard pull '' removed from my XXXX report. She stated that the bank 's tech team had determined that, having visited the ONE MAIN FINANCIAL site from a third party at one point during my extensive hunt for a personal loan, this third party ( XXXX XXXX ) bypassed any " soft pull '' inquiry that I had been informed of while I had investigated the ONE MAIN FINANCIAL main website page ( at a different, earlier time ).
At no point did ONE MAIN FINANCIAL note that, by visiting their website via XXXX XXXX, I would be bypassing/declining a soft pull on my credit.
The result is, quite simply, false and misleading advertising that has caused harm to my credit file. In fact, the ONE MAIN FINANCIAL representative said I was not the only person who had complained about this problem. Yet the bank has done nothing to correct the situation as of XX/XX/18.
